Nice build. I finished the campaign again today following the Mia choice and I took a star of Daisy's with 6 x ER PPC's, 1 ton of armor in each arm, and lots of double heat syncs. I used this after seeing that a Warhawk with 4 x ER PPC's can often 1 shot a mech CT. The 6 x ER PPC's will generally take almost anything down in 1-2 shots which is about the time you must stop for 10 seconds to cool down too.
I've been running a mad dog build that has almost as much armor as a stock dire wolf. 615 armor to be specific. I'm running 2 er large lasers, 2 er medium lasers and 2 lrm 15s. I've got one ton of armor each in the center/left/right torso and 2 tons each in the arms. Held up like s champ in heir to the dragon. Runs a bit hot though.
Used the same 4 UAC 10 build. The recoil broke the back of the mech when you spam alpha strike. If you get lucky enough you can kill a dire wolf instantly. Its glorious.
I have vague memories of MechWarrior 2 where I somehow managed to cram 6 ultra AC 20s on a Direwolf. Having to drop the top speed to something around 12 kph meant it wasn't very good, but it was funny.
Reminds me of an HBS Battletech build I came up with for an Annihilator. 4 ac 10s, 8 tons of ammo, a max ballistic TTS, and as many double heat sinks as would fit. Cockpit kills were easy when you had just shy of a 1/5 chance and 8 chances a turn. I called it UACCA BIG DAKKA. I’m really enjoying the builds, your play through, and the rotating potatoes 🥔😵💫. Keep up the great work.
@@TTBprime Sir, I'm happy to report that the UAC SLD Slugs perform better with less spread and quicker time to kill but they jam faster (at least to me) and seem to build up heat faster. I think the heat can be easily mitigated by using chain fire…sorry, almost forgot, MURICA!
You know I think the gunfire smoke might be a good thing like say on Santander. It would make the reticle visible when I normally cant see it against the red rock.
i enjoy this build a lot, but with the solid slugs (normal?) uac10s instead. because the bullets dont spread everywhere you kill things faster and from much further away. + headshotting is now a treat.
With the Prime it is possible to up-armor (legs and shoulders) while wielding 8 x ERSmall and 2 x UAC10Solid that shreds just as fast as this, if not even faster. Has a heat problem as well, after the 5th or 6th volley but this can be easily mitigated by not spamming the uac10's, just let them cool down, and putting the groups of lasers into groups of their own by which arm they are on.
Solid Slug seemed to make this so much better, get into a rythm of about 1 tap per second I rarely jam and man can you delete mechs quick with this build! I got my 10k ballistic achievement in about 3 missions running this mech with a lighter lance to do some sim missions. DEFINITELY recommended!
STRAVAG!!!! those lazy freebirth techs have neglected to inform me that i can mix and match omnipods on my battlemech. I must go and correct this error and thoroughly test the results on some spheroids.
Unfortunately once you figure certain things out the game goes from challenging... To not. I went running around the end game missions with just armored up ersmall + ECM arctic cheetahs and just debuffed the OPFOR with ECM disrupt. It's like... Huh, so I didn't need a full star of dire wolves to beat the game... Just a bunch of OP light mechs.
yeah once you have an idea the game becomes easy even on the harder difficulties and in reality makes sense as well at this time clan tech was many leagues ahead of IS it wasn't until later that IS actually had some hmm catch ups on tech that was still behind but much better
Love your videos and builds, thx! :) Would you be willing to try something crazy - FUN?! I’m talking extreme NUTSO - Nova FLAMER build please! :) Consider it a challenge if you dare; could you survive an expert slugfest?…

@@zDeadHeadFredz other than lore I have 0 idea why they are in the game. I haven't found anything that can boat enough of them to be viable over er-smalls or s-pulse. I have yet to even use small pulse over er-smalls.
@t1t0s89 Specifically, the tabletop Battletech rulebooks mention that weapon ranges are severely shortened so that you can play on a tabletop instead of a tennis court.

Uac 10 solid slugs. Uacs can continuously fire. I've had more than 6shots consecutively
very much so, when i got the hellbringer i immediately rigged it with 2 uac 10s. carried me through quite a bit of the campaign with its kill rate.

Sadly in the board game you're still rolling 2d6s instead of a bucketful of dice 😉

Yet another build that I need to try. I wonder if performance will change if you use UAC SLD slugs instead?
Try it and let me know which one is better, Sailorman!

Can’t beat a Dakka Dire Wolf! Great video, great build.
How much does Solid Slug rounds change this, I love the Dakka sound but with all that smoke would like 1/3 the shots for the same damage be better?

is there X10 - the grape shot ?
my final build was 6lpl. kinda boring. but plenty of armor and cooling. you could fire forever before overheating

Is there a way to change affinities? It’s going to piss me off if I’m stuck with a medium mech one
You get 5-6 slots eventually
3x UAC-20 SLD FTW
could it use 4 Gauss?
Too heavy unfortunately
Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries allowed the Direwolf to equip four LIGHT-Gaussrifles.
