If you're going to include the non-sim games like Mechcommander and Mech Assault then you might as well include all the games in the Battletech franchise at that point. The franchise is called Battletech, Mechwarrior is the name of a few games in the franchise.
When you include games like "MechWarrior 3050" you have to get both "BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk" into the list. "MechCommander: Desperate Measures" is just a DLC to "MechCommander 1" and then there is of cause "MechCommander 2" Aaaaand "HBS Battletech"....
@@smokeymoe842 Mechwarrior is just the name of a pilot on the BattleTech Universe... all those game were created by different companies.. They just happen to have Mechwarrior in the name instead of Battletech.
He included a bunch of non mechwarrior games like mechassault and rts games which are not considered mechwarrior games (mechwarrior games are closer to things you can play in a simpit) @smokeymoe842
If you are going to have the non first person games in there may as well start with "Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception" and "Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Revenge".
What, don't you fit two gauss rifles and two ppc's into your Phoenix Hawks? I mean, the 45 ton mech surely can fit, uh, 42 tons of weapons (without ammo for the gauss rifles) somehow into its frame. ;)
Anyone every play in the Mechwarrior pods? I played all of the Mechwarriors, but it wasn't until I played in the pods and won matches that I really fell in love with the game.
Hell yeah. We had some in circulation in my area for a while. They popped up in a Lazer tag place until they closed down, then we're part of this big family entertainment place... until it also closed down. Now, I have no idea where they are. Good memories
Nice compilation that should the evolution of the graphic engines and controls very well. I played all the MechWarrior PC titles and still own almost all of them. At times, I forget just how crude the graphics were on the earlier games when I look back through my nostalgia powered, rose colored glasses. Thanks for putting this together.
Man, i still cant believe how high the fidelity was for Mech Commander. The jump between MW2Mercs and MCGold was insane. Hell, MCGold still holds up to this day.
MechWarrior is awesome! Been playing MW since MW2 back in the 90s. Fell in love with it. A few years back, I binged on MW, and played and beat several games in a row. MW3, Pirates Moon, MW4, Black Knight, and Battletech. Still need to beat MW4 Mercs! Uhh, this list is missing Battletech! That game is awesome!
I have always wanted a regimental level gme, invading a world, havinga aerotech cover and taking over whole continents while making strategic campaign choices about which targets to prioritize. A MechCommander on a giant scale.
No MechCommander 2 (2001)? No BattleTech (2018)? No BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception (1988)? No BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Revenge (1990)?
You included the Genesis game, but not the SNES one? (granted, that was nearly 'in name only' anyway, with very different Mech designs). Not to mention, I don't think I saw the Virtual Worlds Pod version in there, either?
That MWO footage is so outdated that is funny Also you used a PS1 game to generalize mech 2 in general, when the Console release was a very different beast
Yes it began as Battletech years ago and even before the first video game it was a board game and later came Miniatures then the video games up until the day and as others have said so much is missing from a full video about the game
Get it right. That was MW2: Mercs Titanium Edition which was trash because we couldnt mod it with NAIS...but that's not the main reason for this call out... How you skipped MW2 Dos escapes me entirely. It's the only old school MW title that really matters, first to matchmake on Kali and Microsoft Zone. Maps. Mods. Grand Council.
Ah yes MW5 Merc, the game about pink mechs fitted with ultralosttech giga-heatsinks and payloads heavier than the frame. Or mayyybe this is so heavily modded that the footage is irrelevant.
The first game was more of an RPG than anything else. You sold your mech travelled round and only had to fight a few battles and that could be won in the shadow hawk. You just ran at enemies turned round and hit them in the back,.
OG Mechwarrior 2 footage taken from PlayStation, not PC (and those two different games). Living Legends is not even a game, but mod for Crysis. You're wasting internet space on your trash content.

I agree.
Does that mean including the Crescent Hawk?
@@gamesandstuff127 I see no reason not.
Not to mention Phantom War for the DS.

Aaaaand "HBS Battletech"....
also missing Multiplayer BattleTech: Solaris and Multiplayer BattleTech 3025 by Kesmai
For a video about Battletech computer games, this video sure is missing a lot.
yeah like the Game Battletech from just a few years ago for instance
But its about the digital Mechwarrior game's evolution not the table top or its video game representation Battletech
The gameplay of the MW2 series (stopped watching there) was atrocious at providing an example

Missing MechWarrior (1993 video game) on SNES
what was up with this modded version of MW5 mercs?
What, don't you fit two gauss rifles and two ppc's into your Phoenix Hawks? I mean, the 45 ton mech surely can fit, uh, 42 tons of weapons (without ammo for the gauss rifles) somehow into its frame. ;)
the refire rate was somewhat conspicuous
@@magnusknoyeah just remove the arms and replace them with ppc then replace the legs with gauss rifles. It's so easy.
@@madmalkavian3857 nahh other way around. Need the PPC's for legs to use as thrusters
And I though my modded Gauss was ridiculous...
Still waiting for Mech Assault 3 :'(
Mechassault 2 is the goat🐐
Mechwarrior 3 still holds up. My favourite is Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries, but MW3 had a feeling to it that keeps me going back.
You right, best MW3
Anyone every play in the Mechwarrior pods? I played all of the Mechwarriors, but it wasn't until I played in the pods and won matches that I really fell in love with the game.
Yeah!
A local Battletech store had some but since Covid they closed their doors. :(
Hell yeah. We had some in circulation in my area for a while. They popped up in a Lazer tag place until they closed down, then we're part of this big family entertainment place... until it also closed down. Now, I have no idea where they are. Good memories
Walnut Creek site and visited a couple others (Sacramento Vegas and Costa Mesa) memories . Virtual World was my life outside of work for a few years.
MechCommander 2 ? BattleTech 2018 ?
Heavily modded MW5 and left out the Battletech PC game from like 2018, wild
Nice trip down memory lane. I still remember playing most of these including the first one!

3 was my introduction into the MechWarrior games. I Played 3/4 on pc and the Mech Assault games then following it up with 5 merc

That pink mech in MW5 was definitely using a trainer, his gauss rifles recharge instantly, lol
Glad Living Legends makes the list. That game offered you so much flexibility in how you faught.
"Enemy Mech Destroyed" brought me back

For me started with MechCommander and MechWarrior 3.
Mechwarrior 4 is the GOAT
I remember it being waaaay more realistic back in the day
Looks way better and so happy 4 the game
where is Cresceh hawk's inseption? Revenge?
Never gets old.
💌
Even here MechCommander 2 is forgotten (
You forgot about Mech Commander 2 , sequel to Mech commander , one of best strategy \tactical rts
missing the BattleTech turn-based game, from 2016 or so?
If fan games like LL is in there and Mechassult is there to, you may as well of included Wolves!
nothing compares to mechwarrior 2. nothing. we need a remake desperately
No MechCommander 2 (2001)? No BattleTech (2018)? No BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception (1988)? No BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Revenge (1990)?
in 1989 it was amazing, so it longing as that cool!!!!!!!
Hay where the fuck is battletech the creasent hawk inception and revenge ?
Mechwarrior 5 Clans only PC - X Series - PS5

there are two Mechwarrior games for the SNES. Mechwarrior 3050(1994) and Mechwarrior (1993)
Earthsiege, Steel Battalion? Also original pc version of Mechwarrior 2 missing??? Mechcommander didn't aged at all though :)
How could you be missing BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception Video game??????
Yes it began as Battletech years ago and even before the first video game it was a board game and later came Miniatures then the video games up until the day and as others have said so much is missing from a full video about the game
Excellent video, ignore the wine
Living Legends is No. 1, top tier
MechCommander is included, but not MechCommander 2 (PC 2001) :/
And you missed BattleTech (PC 2018)

_MechAssault: Phantom War_ ?

How are you going to play MechWarrior 5 Mercs and include WeMod trainer hacks, what a noob!

plus mechwarrior 5 clans isn't available for ps4
Mec warrior 5 mercenaries whoever was playing that was for sure cheating with those gause cooldowns and weight on a pheonix hawk
