Nah, she was just brainwashed and had lived longer than the others so being part of Smoke Jaguar is all she knew. To give that up would have been like her giving up a part of herself and her identity.
1:39:30 Here's a thought: what if Naomi is basically Mia + 10 years' experience? That could help explain why she understands Mia's perspective so well. And why, sadly, her prediction that Mia wouldn't let Jayden take her willingly turned out correct.
Good point! I suspect that if the Invasion hadn't happened while Mia was so young, she could've had more time to mellow out (and/or grow cynical) like Naomi has.
Naomi Is interesting because she was eager to achieve something in the invasion before she would be relegated into a solhama cluster or a trainer role, but her being sidelined and slighted by her former commander made her cynical enough to avoid seeing the fanatically crusader mentality as her only path forward. She was definitely my favorite Starmate

@@drmayeda1930 Lostech: Mechwarrior Equipment Guide (pages 50, 51 and 53) states that back in the SLDF, they used cooling suits, which the Inner Sphere lost the tech to do. that's why IS pilots wear wifebeaters and boxers in their mechs. it also states that Clans never lost the cooling suit tech, so what you see in this game is correct at least in terms of the Jags and the Dragoons, but not the pirate and Great House mechwarriors. it also states Clan neurohelmets are also similarly advanced, and compact like a normal flight helmet, not like the IS 5-gallon bucket helmets
@@drmayeda1930 You're thinking Spheroid. Clans never lost their technology and have been using cooling suits since day 1. Their neurohelmets also got more compact.

OK, so now that I've gotten a bit farther into the campaign, I can say I'm OK with how they designed the mech lab. I get it. The first thing I suggest people do after the first mission is unlock missile boat omnipods for every mech lol. I was able to unlock 4 out of the 5 after what I believe was the first mission. Then I unlocked the last one I wanted after the second mission. It was the ppc one. There's only one that comes with it I believe. I was having trouble with the second mission, kept losing a mech, so I loaded the autos Ave after the first mission and went into the mech bay and started configuring for missile boats. After switching omnipods and going with what I knew, I got through the mission without losing a mech or even a component on expert. Im also focusing on learning the controls and being more tactical and precise in my movements and strategy. God I love Mechwarrior lol.
@@eternal_affairs I'm currently replaying it paying closer attention to loadouts and pairing mechs according to character's buffs (like Naomi and LRMs). I find that investing in energy weapons and putting as many as physically possible helps a lot early in the campaign (Viper with 8 ER small lasers kicks ass). Nova with default 12 ER MLs is pretty good, but swap those for 14 ER SLs with room for additional heat sinks and armor and you will get a killing machine that can quickly cut through even heavier mechs. On my 1st playthrough I used stock loadouts, now I'm customizing and using my star more tactically during missions, and I find it now much easier to get through the missions on higher difficulty levels.
Nah. I think Piranha Games is just having some fun with a meme from 5 or 6 years ago that Tex, George and Crow started about TEETH in old BattleTech art from the 1980s. If that is the case, well done. Very well bargained and done.
Traitor! This despicable ending is most unacceptable, Mia is right, all traitors and spheroids shall tremble before our might! Clans shall emerge victorious! BTW I do not have problem with working under Clan Wolf's command.
Some cutscenes they look fine, on others they look like claymation. Think they had to rush out a fix for the cinematics when the trailers for the story was first uploaded and people noted the stiffness of the animations.
It shows just how much they had to work to keep the contractions out of their speech and make every word clipped, that is except Liam who uses a more natural dialect.
tbh it sounds fine to me, not all of the VA's are perfect but in what game are they? i think it works for smoke jaguar anyways because clans are pretty intense people and its fukin smoke jaguar so...yeaaaa
Honestly the backlash from the orbital brothers bombardment was dumb. FFS it was the norm pre- star league and the advent of the mech AND was the norm again during the first two succession wars. And what is wrong with the story telling Writing? the drama is soo weak. I thank for the Cutscenes. Now I know and many people know this game is woke.
Also, this is Clan Smoke Jaguar. IIRC, their founders happened to include more black men and women than other Clans. As well as South Asian bloodlines like 'Mehta' (it's quite possible that Naomi is from that bloodline). (By contrast, Clan Ghost Bear is essentially Sweden/Denmark in space, so their leadership is largely white Nordic. Though it does also have some Chinese bloodlines like 'Tseng'). And Battletech was written in the 1980s. Nothing especially woke about that. If anything, the woke crowd could criticise this game for having several black men and a black woman leading a villain faction.
Well it just shows you have no idea what you are talking about. A bunch of "black leaders" female or otherwise leading Clan Snoke Jaguar to its demise should be a very anti-woke concept... If that would have been a thing back in the day.

I like to think it was the Neural Implants that made Mia even more unhinged.
