- Ever wondered how to give a guineas pig a bath? This video will show you how to safely bathe your piggy as well as care for long haired guinea pigs. The guinea pig in this video is called Mop and she was adopted from Critter Corral Guinea Pig Rescue. She was beautiful Peruvian Guinea pig and passed away a few years ago due to old age and cancer.

I have a long-haired Peruvian guinea pig that looks identical to yours. She hates baths she hates water. The only time she feels comfortable getting clean is when she takes a shower personally with me. Then she is a calm pig! She is my world! ❤️

Idk about my guinea pigs showering w/ me. You hold them up while taking a shower or just let them walk around? They'd poop & pee in there. I just gave my new guinea pig, Axl a bath -in the sink. New as in 4 days new. He wasn't feeling it all. Or my attempt at a hair cut. Poor guy. At least I now know his bottom was supposed to be brown. The rest of him is white. It's just a funny looking spot for that coloring, so I cut it 😔🤷. Or parts of it... welp, at least he's clean. & The fluff ball prob hates me now 🤦. What an intro... And he def runs faster than what I thought :/... He's still a little guy tho. His turds are even still kinda small. Therefore, younger than my Whiskers. Ok rant done. It's prob just easier baby wiping them. Whiskers must be like ✋ na uh! I heard that blow dryer. You already gave me a bath 😤!
I knew my guinea was a lunatic, lol. Jacob couldn't get ENOUGH of swimming in the tub.. I miss him so much.. Had him for 8yrs.. Now looking into a Peruvian or silkie..

I had 2 Guinea pigs they both passed away sadly both in October but maybe a year or 2 from each other Patchy patch looked like Mop but shorter more courser hair and Toopy had short smooth hair I miss them it will be 2 years for patchy patch and 1 year for Toopy they were both sisters bought from petsmart they were both I think 4 years old and I just found out you had piggies! :)

Im not sure about hamsters. But long haired guinea pigs have a tendency to get urine on their fur. They do their best to clean themselves but due to all the fur a bath becomes a must.

Maria Munoz you don't have to bathe them they wash themselves. If you do it, the oil they naturally produced for their hair is vanished and it's not very good for them... you should just bath them when it's an extreme situation

Just subbed because your piggies are so adorable!! Mind subbing back? and Lady Gaga is so cute! I have to do the exact same thing with my Peruvian and she doesn't mind it too much. I've seen some of the foam shampoo that don't require water but I get nervous about using the 'quick fixes' haha. But very cute video!! :)

you aren't soppose to use kitty shampoo only products for guinea pigs

they need a bath every week or two if they are very messy piggy for long haired
Queen Shine they don't need bath they clean themselves... you should just bath them when they are very dirty or if they have condition where they can't clean themselves...
