How to Bath & Dry Long Haired Guinea Pigs!

- In today's video I am trying out some small animal shampoo I bought from Pet's at Home, on my long haired guinea pig. I am briefly reviewing this shampoo as well as giving you tips on how to bath and dry your guinea pig.

Just a head’s up. I bought the most amazing guinea pig cage liner. I bought two so I can change bedding immediately instead of having to wait to wash and dry. The name is GuineaDad fleece liner. I really couldn’t be happier. I sweep up the poopies daily. I like my animals to be clean and this is just amazing.

I know that chinchillas, hamsters and some other rodents can have a "dust bath" left in their enclosure, it is made with a special type of fine sand that is sold at pet shops. The rodents roll around in a container with the sand in it and it supposedly helps keep them clean and odor-free. I wonder if guinea pigs would also use a sand bath, or if they will just poo and pee in it and make a mess.
I very much doubt it since they originated around the Andes in grasslands and forest edges. They're not the type to roll at all (many don't like being on their back) and it can get in their eyes and lungs if they breath it in

I have a Guinea Pig named Doogal. He has really long hair and he’s ginger! We thought he looked like Doogal off the magic roundabout lol. he looks like yours but without the white stripe and he has a bit longer hair 😂💗

Please help me my leopard gecko has a little red spot on his nose I think it’s an open wound but he has like this really shiny layer of skin or something over it and then over that is stuck skin that it’s like super flaky but won’t come off I don’t know what to do

I have Guinea pigs there the best! Also there breed is Silky I also use a hair dryer to dry them!

One time, my sister got a guinea pig. Unfortunately, we didn't know that she was somewhat really allergic to them. She couldn't even be in the same room with it for no more than 5 minutes. We had to keep the guinea pig in my room. We had to take him back to the shop. That was about like 2 or 3 years ago.

As many as she’ll eat in fifteen minutes, every other day. I recommend crickets or Dubia roaches :)

Don't use sand, make sure the gecko has calcium, d3, and multivitamins.

My juvenile leopard Gecko gibby hasn't pooped in 5 days. I also fed him two times and gonna rn! Is something wrong with him?
Danna Strohsack Wait a day and if he doesn't go, I'd get concerned (reptiles sometimes will just hold it but 5 days is usually their limit). I have a gecko who's going through rehab and so pooping is often an issue for her. If they won't go, fill your sink up with lukewarm water (not hot like you'd think) and make sure it touches their belly but it isn't deep to where they can drown (they can't swim to save their life). Usually they end up going. If not, use a DROP of olive oil and put it on their nose for them to lick it off, it kind of acts like a lubricant/laxative, but only give them it once every other day because that can become lethal. Best of luck!! Reptiles can be turds lol

if you give your piggies baths make sure to only do it when they are REALLY dirty. when you bathe them it strips there natural oils.

My guinea pig is old, like almost 4 years old. I know he's might die soon since he'll reach the end of his life span. But all these years he just didn't want to bond with me. He would run away, bite me, scream. I am very sad that he's gonna die without anyone to love. He had a mate once, but we gave her and the babies away because we couldn't afford to take care of more. I wish he'd like me.

My dad got me a leopard gecko and my dad dropped the hide on the tail and I was wondering what to do because I just got the gecko today and the tail isn’t off fully but it’s bleeding

That guinea pig was really dirty the water was brown
This my first time commenting and I know you're known for geckos mostly but I know you said you were going to clean out the hutch but their food bowl was extremely dirty as was the ramp. I am sure you take good care of your animals but I think maybe you should really keep up with it a bit better. Guineas are messy animals but have to be spot cleaned twice daily. That's just my honest opinion, but I do like your videos and you seem to be very knowledgeable about animals in your care.
