Years ago I adopted a piggie who refused to be caged. His first night he escaped and I found him lounging on my sofa! After a few weeks of trying to keep him in I gave up and he was fully free range. After a while I noticed he was pooping in the same spot so I got him a cat litter tray that he'd use. He was hilarious. He knew the food was in the fridge and would stand by it yelling until I fed him! Every morning he'd appear next to my bed yelling until I picked him up and had cuddles in bed. I miss him dearly, he was truly unique. Rip Lord Reginald!

Thank you for taking good care of your little guys & providing them with a wonderful life--that also is currently making me smile. : ) All my best to you all, take care! -L
I know you don’t have heating vents on the floor, but for anyone who does- be careful! My friend’s bunny sprained his ankle on one of those grates. Make sure to block off or cover up the grates before letting your piggies free roam!
Yes! We had a similar issue when my piggie Skittles got stuck behind the radiator. She was so scared and I was so worried I was injuring her that I was in tears, so it took way longer than it should have to get her out.
My rabbit has been free roaming for about 9 years. He is very happy and it makes me glad to hear him rummaging through my things and running around excitedly at 4am
Some advice: get a bigger cage than you expect they will need, make sure they have unlimited amounts of hay, take them to the vet for a thorough checkup twice a year (or if you suspect something is wrong), and they poop a lot so make sure you clean their cage once a week, and hope you have fun! And good luck!
Awwww, look at that wee piggie who stayed home! My sister once bought a cat bed for her piggie, who she accidentally left out, lounging in his bed one time, while we went to the shops. When we came home and realised what she had done, we watched the CCTV camera she had next to his cage and all fell about laughing, watching him climb back into his cage for a wee and a poo, then climbing back out to get back in his comfy bed. He did this three times, while we were out (it was a big shop, for food for the week and also a BBQ we were hosting on the weekend.)
@@goldguy123He was an absolute star! We found out later that he was older than she'd been told (he was a rescue) and had arthritis in his back legs and he made all of that effort to get to his proper toilet area, then back to his comfy bed! RIP Patch! You are missed, Baby Boy!

You should do this as often as possible. No animal should live in cages or runs. It's not their natural stare. Just look how your pigs reacted to the excitement and adventure of being free. You can feel it!
he’s scared, that could mean a few things: you don’t let him out enough so he’s not in his comfort zone, he’s in an area he doesn’t feel safe, or both. slowly introduce him to new areas and he might feel more comfortable that way. also, the more you get him out of his cage/pen, the more comfortable he will start to become.
@@tzviru it depends on that individual animal to be fair. I doubt it's absolutely required as long as you have a good relationship with them. People say the same about rabbits, but mind is perfectly happy since I have a good relationship with him
Somebody You don't know no - it is absolutely required. You need 2 rabbits, or 2 guinea pigs. In the UK it is considered serious animal cruelty to keep them alone and you are not even allowed to rescue 1 single one, you have to take a pair.
Somebody You don't know that is absolutely false!!! They don’t care the relationship with you since you are a total different species and they can’t communicate with you. It’s like you would have to spend the whole life with a monkey or a bear without any social contact with your species! Don’t humanize animals by trying to adopt your thoughts and values on animals. We misinterpret a lot of animals’ behavior. Guinea pigs hate to cuddle, but since when you get them onto your arm and they don’t move and do “nice calm” sounds we think that it actually likes it, but it is the COMPLETE opposite! In a lot of countries it’s already forbidden to sell social animals alone or to hold them alone and it’s under restrict punishment if you torture animals this way!!!!
that reminds me, my mom brought my guinea pig outside to me and put him down and he took off running and went under the fence and got stuck but i did get him out and he was fine
Same I have 3 guinea pigs who always lay around dark places every time they really love dark places but they don't even make a single sound at all tbh not even a single sound and my black guinea pig just bite me today thats also my biggest fear
I let my guinea pig run in a big space of the house since we have cats, so I take all out and let her run. She poops all around and pee but I clean it so. It's fun seeing her run around.
How long do they live? And do they poop and led in one general area? They look irresitible, I'd love a couple. Also, do you generally slay and neuter them too? They aren't like the rabbits and multiply, do they? They are Dorable! I'm going to do some research and learn about them. No toys? That may interest them, you know, so they aren't bored! Also, what about those rawhide sticks for teething?
I’d free roam my piggy but both my dogs are hunting dogs and if my Jack Russel saw them, she’d be like *”Bork bork I’m fat but I will bork you to death”*
This is such great exercise and enrichment for indoor pigs. I have 2 angora rabbits that are house-rabbits except at nighttime. While they're caged my geriatric Pigpen and fairly old english spot/lionhead rabbit have free roam and it's adorable. They grew up as siblings so they communicate well but pairing the 2 species isn't really recommended. These two are just inseparable. I only wish I could share pics! True inter-species bonding.
I let my guinea pig do this and he just jumped back in his cage Me: opens cage and picks him up and let him roam My guinea pig: turns around and jumps back in
Purple Bear - I have a boar at the moment that just hates coming out of his cage. I take him out and he just wants back in, so bad that if I'm not careful he'll do the dive right off me to get back to his cage. His cage is left open all the time but he's a chicken s**t and never wants out. ...lol. I've had some that just love being out and some not so much but ",Sugarbear" just hates coming out.
Our guinea pigs have been free roaming for 2 years. They live on half an acre of land with lots of hiding spots, their main spot is under our house. At first we had a breeding problem (boys and girls breeding) so now we only have girl guineapigs. They live on grass, berries, and any food we give them (pellets, carrots, lettuce, oranges). Deaths: Neighbours cats. The rest of the deaths are natural causes. One of our guineapigs had a stroke, head falling to one side, half of its body wasnt working. We fed it fresh orange juice through a syringe and now it has fully recovered.

This remembers me of my ferrets. They had a whole ferret room for their own (we called it bears room, cause they looked like cute little bears lol) and as long as we were at home, they were able to run trough the apartment with us. They went to their room by themselves to go sleep 😄 we loved them so much and they had a very long and beautiful ferret life

Guinea pig stuff I have seen a lot of your comment on her videos and I am about to go watch some of your videos! Btw I subscribed! ❤️
When I had guinea pigs, I kept their cage open during the day pretty much all the time. They would hop in and out of their cage and they never seemed to poop or pee outside of their cage. The only time I ever closed their cage was at night or if I wasn't home to supervise them. I just felt bad leaving them in their cage especially during winter when they could not go outside.
This is quite possibly the cutest video I’ve seen in a long time. My floor would be covered in piggy poop. They are absolutely adorable. Love their piggy bums.
Pleasant dreams piggies💝
Appreciate how cleaned up she prepped the home before the release. Very loving.
Yes but she didn't clean their enclosure before the video JS.
@@dragonshoarddesign3094they typically prefer slightly messy enclosures tbh. Also, with how many piggies she has, it’s not really possible to keep it 100% clean. You can clean the poop and tidy everything but they’re like toddlers, it’s really not gonna stay clean for long.
I watched and forgot that I didn’t have headphones soo when the guinea pigs started squeaking my guinea pigs were so confused lol

I see so many pet channels where the owners are negligent at best and abusive at worst, it's so nice to see a channel with an incredible pet owner! Your guinea pigs are so lucky to have someone who looks out for and loves them like you do!!!!
My guinea pigs pee and poop everywhere 😅 how do you deal with that
Yea mine to!
Mine too😂
its natural just clean it
Same when I let my rats do this. It can't be helped, you just gotta keep track of em and clean up after em
I litter trained my guinea pigs , so whenever I get them out to free roam , I get them a fresh litter pan so they can use it while out of their cage
My guinnea pig lived for his whole life without a cage in my parents house as I was a kid. He was just the best : waited at the door, when he heard us coming home and welcomed us loudly, was sitting with us on the couch and followed us everywhere we go. He was like a little dog oh and he always pooped in his box he still had but without any cages. The whole apartment was clean. Still miss him every day, though I was 11 when I got him and today I am 30 years old. R. I. P. Snoopy ❤️
Sorry for your loss
How do you not worry about stepping on them?
Right! That’s what I was thinking! Lol
Home office: Mom, we're helping! The pigs in the kitchen are so cute: everything must be investigated, even if the floor feels weird. Sylvester's reaction is soo grumpy old man: you young ones can roam all you like, I'm staying where the hay is!
There so adorable!
"Wow, your apartment is so tidy!"
"Well, you know, guinea pigs."
I love how they are perched on their gate before she lets them out. It’s so adorable. 🥰
Letting them roam freely allowed them to have a safe adventure and was a source of enrichment as well. I love their little squeaky sounds. 🥰
They're always going to remember the 'Little Adventures' you give them; like humans remember a bunch of little trips to special parks, etc. (that's what i like to imagine)
She's going to remember it too, when she keeps finding their poop in corners, under cushions and on the bottom of her feet.
@@Dako108 Oh for sure... But I guess that's the story: We give her all these subs/views so she has the $ to spoil those guinea pigs so we can watch happily and 'round and 'round it goes.
Esentially, we're all agreeing to spoil some animals together. It's fun to give living beings the best possible time in life. I wish we could do it with more humans!
But yeah, normal owners should prob never do this.

Thanks for sharing! Currently mourning the passing of DJ, my incredibly intelligent (& naughty🙂) rattie bear. Smiles & laughter have not been frequent so it was nice to experience those again whilst watching your little guys.
Free roaming had always been a dream of mine until I was finally able to secure a place that could be rat proofed. Having experienced both enclosure vs freedom (in my experience at leas,) the increased contentment, curiosity & bonding to people was quite noticeable.
Thank you for taking good care of your little guys & providing them with a wonderful life--that also is currently making me smile. : )

Yes! We had a similar issue when my piggie Skittles got stuck behind the radiator. She was so scared and I was so worried I was injuring her that I was in tears, so it took way longer than it should have to get her out.

What a well trained piggy that was! Mine would’ve just peed in the bed.😂

Whenever we let my guinea pig down on the floor to walk around he just freezes until we pick him up
he’s scared, that could mean a few things: you don’t let him out enough so he’s not in his comfort zone, he’s in an area he doesn’t feel safe, or both. slowly introduce him to new areas and he might feel more comfortable that way. also, the more you get him out of his cage/pen, the more comfortable he will start to become.
just one guinea pig? aren't they social and require at least one buddy for their mental health?
My guinea pig is named muffin and really lonely because a few months ago his brother and friend Reese’s died. Send prayer towards muffin please

I have 2 angora rabbits that are house-rabbits except at nighttime. While they're caged my geriatric Pigpen and fairly old english spot/lionhead rabbit have free roam and it's adorable. We call free ranging guinea pigs “adventure pigs”.
I let my guinea pig do this and he just jumped back in his cage
Me: opens cage and picks him up and let him roam
My guinea pig: turns around and jumps back in
Mine would probably be the same you can leave the cage open and she won't even try to leave, funny animals
Strawberry 0Ninja that’s exactly what I do everyday and night and he still never comes out 😂
Purple Bear - I have a boar at the moment that just hates coming out of his cage.

Wow, how interesting :D
Bless you
I'd be too terrified to let any pet rodent outside because of predators and them never coming back
Just curious where do you live? Warm climate?
