My Peruvian got something stuck in his hair around his bottom a few months ago. To this day I cannot work out what it was, but ever since, he is terrified of having his hair maintained in any way. I’ve tried giving him treats, cuddling him first, cuddling him throughout and taking little breaks etc. but he just will not allow me to get at it. I end up having to cut chunks, for his sake, before it gets too matted and painful for him. ANY advice on this would be greatly appreciated because I hate seeing his hair looking all uneven and terribly layered like in the picture you showed at the end of the video! 😢

Is it helpful to put guinea pig little higher than the table? You used glass form and the towel, is it because long hair or guinea pig? Isn't able to suddenly escape?

How often do you bathe your long haired guinea pig. I got a boar a few months ago he hated being brushed but I trim him once a week. Never had a bath though.
Never bathe a guinea pig, long haired, short haired, never bathe one. They do not produce body heat that well and will get sick. Only do it if recommend by a veterinarian or a specialist.
@@hunleytheguineapig312 Not true. It's perfectly fine to bathe guinea pigs, especially long haired breeds. They should be bathed at least 2 times a year. Although, it's very important to dry them completely with a hairdryer after so they don't get sick x.

My guinea pig has long hair but it isn’t straight and is always separated and never goes to the back or the sides it stays up and blowzy
