As a woman, I like Trunks because he is handsome sure, but more importantly his characteristics and personality. He is very kind and humble. He's a good person and fights to create a better future where everyone can live in peace and without fear. To live in safety. Plus, idk, I find Trunks adorable when he blushes or gets shy. And just knowing his past, he is such a strong person, and I don't mean in the physical sense. Despite in the awful world he grew up in, he remained hopeful thanks to his mother and didn't become a bad or cynical person.

I think it's Trunks' humility and kindheartedness despite having a terrible life. Some people (Vegeta) are hardened but the bad things that happened to them, but Trunks lays down his life for others and it just lovable and it melts your heart. And it's always kinda nice when someone is attractive but is either unaware of it, or makes an effort to not make it a big deal, and is not conceited. Also, Trunks always reminded me of Leonardo Dicaprio..lol.
My crush was actually Picoolo because despite being very "manly" and stoic (sometimes to a fault), he takes care of Gohan is all mysterious and enigmatic. And he's gives off an aura of being highly intelligent and calculating.

I had a crush on Trunks since I was little, and I didn't know why until I was in college.
Defenitely has to do with why he is so serious, strong, handsome, and as someone else mentioned humble. He has so much on his shoulders and yet he has a clear goal; a determination to make a change for his loved ones. Especially when I watched GT, his style was still cool yet he was funny and relatable. Trunks is such a charming, mysterious and kind guy.
Trunks is like my definition of boyfriend material.

It wasn't just because future Trunks was handsome, for me it was because he was a reflection of Gohan.
He was humble and brave...
He respects women as equals, he's polite, he's gentle, he's hot, he's strong and loving and selfless, in other words he's a dream boat and it's killing me every day he doesn't exist 😂
With Trunks, there was always a sense of actual danger. In most animes and shows, you know they're not going to kill off certain characters because of reasons, but in Trunk's storyline, that's not true. They killed off everyone, they mutilated Gohan then killed him. Even more, we didn't see the afterlife in Trunk's time, there's no King Kai, no mental communication, which adds on the heaviness that Trunks is well and truly alone in his fight. And by doing so, it sucks out all the cartoony bits DB has done, like the slap stick, the panty shots, the sweatdrops, the nosebleeds.
Also, if Trunks was a girl, the story, her personality would not change, so it's easy for women to also see themselves in Trunks.
Even if Trunks was one ugly son of a bitch, he would still be attractive because of his kick-ass storyline, his vulnerability, his sympathy, his strength. It's easy to look up to him. He's not vain, he's not selfish, he's not stupid or cruel. He's great.

I think one of the main reasons for Future Trunks being so different from his younger counterpart is not only where and how he grew up, but who raised him. In the apocalyptic world he was from, the only father figure he ever knew was Gohan. Gohan is serious, kind, always polite, and has no real love or thirst for battle and so Future Trunks emulated that. He was the only one left of the Z crew besides Bulma and so he took up the responsibility of raising him with her, training him, schooling him, etc. Gohan is, for all intents and purposes, his father. We all now how much Younger Trunks idolizes Vegeta, I can't imagine it would be much different with Future Trunks and Gohan. If you compare the two side by side you can really see just how similar the two are, again just like young Trunks and Vegeta.
I love Trunks cause his a broken soul. He comes from this dark place. He just needs a hug. Plus, he's sweet, kind and humble. Pure boyfriend material 👌

In all seriousness another aspect of trucks that makes him attractive in a platonic way is that he seems like such a bro. What I mean by this is hes the only dbz character that seems like he can have a genuine friendship with everyday people. Characters in the show are attractive to Goku is being he always amazes them and is always surprising them not because hes the greatest friend ever. All the other characters I love them alot but I don't think I could be a friend with them like how I could be with future trunks.

As a Teenage Girl myself, I do find Future Trunks attractive because he is the most normal DBZ character sure he is strong and has his good looks but I think that the reason Future Trunks is so attractive to most Fan Girls of DBZ. Is his tragic back story and his personality I mean in the future, Trunks loss the one person he has looked up to for so long Gohan, so seeing Gohan dead made Future Trunks a dark character later on in the history of Trunks movie. Seeing how Future Trunks was developed threw the rest of his movie and the android to Cell saga is what might be why most Girls find Future Trunks so attractive.

I had a huge crush on Future Trunks as a kid...
As a woman, I find Future Trunks to be attractive because he has reasons for doing what he does. Its not like Goku and Vegeta who train because they like to fight or Gohan who trains to help those he cares about. Future Trunks has no choice, if he doesn't fight he will die. He has a high level of determination and personally I find that to be very attractive in a man. He's also the only one that seems really self aware of everything. He knows what is going to happen if they fail and he is going to do everything in his power to stop it.
One other point I will have to make is, just look at Trunks as compare him the the rest of the cast. Among all of the Saiyan characters, he has the most unique look and it separates him from everyone else. Some may think its weird that I bring it up, but a lot of times women like that. Its a biological thing that we see in nature all of the time. If you ask any group of woman to look at a picture of good looking men, all of which have brown hair, they are going to all have different answers. But if you stick someone in there that is a blond, you will get more blond responses, because it sticks out from the group.
Also because he's really lean and buff and in real life he would basically have the face of a young Leonardo Di Caprio am I right?

Why I really find Future Trunks' (NOT Kid Trunks) personality so attractive?
Future Trunks has a perfect mixture of some "Nice Guy Vibe" (not too much that we describe him as "soft & weak") & some "Bad Boy Vibe" (not too much that we describe him as an "insensitive jerk") mix together perfectly:
For "Nice Guy" Category: .
1) Very humble & modest. Unlike Kid Trunks (who to me defined as a spoiled immature rich kid with a little bit cocky & flamboyant nature here & there), Future Trunks modesty has added to my attraction towards him as a fan.
2) He's caring & compassionate. He always have that willingness to help others around him.
For "Bad Boy Vibe" Category:
1) He's very calm & firm. Especially he live in an unfortunate environment (i.e. father got killed by androids, homeland just survive an apocalyptic world), yet still manage to keep himself calm by not whining too much or getting too emotional. This shows Future Trunks has "firmness". Most ladies like guys who are calm, especially remain calm at negative scenarios (rather than got emotional).
2) He's also brave

Future Trunks is a stud. His attitude is really noble and pure. He has that cool Resident Evil 4 Leon hair and when he turns Super Saiyan his hair is, by far IMO, the most aesthetically pleasing looking and looks really cool, especially when his hair gets longer and ESPECIALLY in Bojack Unbound where he had that cool looking sleeveless jacket tank top combo, his hair in that movie looks B.A.

#Broken.They killed off Bulma, shipped Trunks with a boring, dowdy, weak, recycled little powerless human gag villainess older than his parents and created a pedotastic love triangle when they could have and should have just created an exciting, new, young, powerful female character with an interesting backstory and put her in that role, (a female saiyan, perhaps?), illogically had him fighting on god levels without even giving him the damn transformation, DESTROYED EVERYTHING THIS CHARACTER WAS FOR AND WORKED FOR UP TO THIS POINT in a really sloppy way, and then ended the hot mess by sending him and this drab old lady off to a universe where copies of both of them are already existing. They ruined the story of a favorite major canon character.
May I also mention how lovely Trunks' hair looks in this manga panel? It looks so thin, stiff and spikey in Super but here it looks so thick, SOFT and fluffy, you just want to touch it! Still prefer purple hair (and I finished the Trunks Super Arc).

Now, this is unrelated but the best thing about future trunks arc is the undertone coming to age theme. Trunks development was that he wanted a fast solution like most boys who are raised with their single mothers. However when he trained and connected with his dad, he fostered more of his father's mannerisms. If I'm not mistaken (or maybe its not canon) Trunks went from being age 16 to 19 then 20 in just 2 arcs....or was it 17 to 20 then 21? Anyways, he went from a boy and became a man, connected with a real man's man, got stronger and was able to face his problems one step at a time.
I thought he was cute when they first introduced him but it was his humbleness, selflessness and wanted to get things done without bullshiting around that made him hot to me

When I fisrt saw Dbz I really thought that after Frieza's defeat and the Vegeta's saga, it wouldn't get any better than that. Then the Trunks storyline came, from the future and nobody knew who the hell was that boy, surprisingly, the story got even better, one the most interesting introdution of a new caracter I remember of in an anime.
It was also a very clever way to introduce the love interest between Vegeta and Bulma. So Vegeta's caracter could stay on the show.
But now I also like the present Kid Trunks, since Vegeta is there, looks like this factor makes kid Trunks less worried, more confident, happier.
While Future Trunks is a sad caracter, he is the real gentleman, real nice guy, the type of hero with a dark past that u hope will get stronger to defeat the villains, the present Kid Trunks is strong already, but spoiled.
In DBS the interaction of the caracters is better, except for Goku that never changes...
I am looking forward to see more of the trio Future Trunks x Mai x Kid Trunks!

I think, what makes him special, is basically due the fact that he’s Vegeta’s son. A complete opposite of a planet busting barbarian who fell for a woman who he tried to kill. And we all love bulma due to her contribution to the show
Trunks was among the first, if not the first, anime characters I ever encountered. My babysitter switched the channel to DBZ (she was NOT supposed to do that, but I'm so glad she did), and it was the episode where Future Trunks chopped Frieza in half. I fell in love then and have been in love with him ever since. I think his being among my first exposures to anime has a lot to do with his impact on my psyche. He's just a good character.
Trunk's appeal lies in that he always wants to do the right thing no matter what.
He is incredibly powerful, but still so humble and kind even despite his horrible past.
And he's also the best looking as a Super Saiyan.
I remember Temple o Trunks, it was my JAM! MERI is also describing my introduction to the character and the DB universe...She's just a couple years old than me so her content was like having a guide through the unknown Japanese only world of post-planet Namek DB. Man, the nostalgia is sweet!
