I like the idea of a Lanyard. I lost my Garrett Pinpointer that I had for years. It was the black version. I had the belt holder attached to my detector arm cuff...I had to run from the woods in a thunderstorm. I did not realize until I got home that I had dropped it from the holder!! I went back and had no luck finding it. Now in the market for a new one, I am lost without it. Thanks for the video
Nice video good tips I have a few pinpointers but I Just discover the F-Pulse It has 16 different frequency channels does not mess with any of my detectors this Beast goes 5" In my soil and even more when gold is involved it loves gold Build quality is solid the nose of this thing is tough And the LED is one of the best I've seen Runs on 2 Double-A's Very cheap and I can use my rechargeable ones crazy
...lol... I have the same two pin pointers, the Garrett had no mercy for my lack of experience in certain things, The pro find 35 finally exposed my problem shotgun pellets The Garrett would find them but I thought it was just making noise because of the clay... 😂 The alarm is more of a battery saving function because if you hear it it's not lost
I'm glad to know that I am not the only one having problems with the Garrett carrot. Mine it is not consistent. Sometimes it simply doesn't work. The original Garrett pro-pointer is top notch but it is not waterproof. I don't like the shape of the Minelab. It looks bulky. Also, I do have a number of pointers bc I like to test whatever comes new. But this new Garrett was a disappointment.
I know the issues started slowly and just got worse. But when I sent in for warranty they said two weeks turn around. Well we are now at the 1 month and still no word. If I dont here from them I will be doing complaint on there web page with google review. The minelab is really nice so far easy to turn on an off.
I’m trying to find a metal detector or pinpointer than coin alert me when there’s a silver quarter mixed in with about 100 clad quarters when spread out on a table. Do you have any suggestions?
I also do a lot of detecting in parks school grounds around Richmond, With this bad virus infection going on we are not able to get out this year,, I hope they don`t close the beaches down in bc this year. I had a garrett once, but they don`t seem to last very long, & all theses pointers are not cheap to keep buying them. I also had one of the new fisher pointer thoses pluse pointers don`t seem to work very good. So I went out to get the whites TRX it only detecting at the tip but I do like that,, & it goes a lot deeper than most pinpointers . runs on 2 double aa or one 9 volt battery. I am going to buy another one . If you are looking for something that goes deep on shallow coins this seems to be the best one out there so far. I do a lot of shallow hunting in Richmond so I might meet you in Richmond once the parks get opened up again. Maybe we can meet somewhere & go detecting in vancouver, or other citys around b.c . once & a while when this virus thing has died out. We can take turns driving each other to the places we want to detect at & save a little money on gas that way. I don`t think there will be much coins in the parks or school grounds this year. I was hopping the kids would have there sports day this year near june but i can`t see that happening because of the virus.
@@timelapsescapes im super excited, waited 20 years for this order, oh next year, oh next year ... At $12 dollars an hour..lol i was a bit hesitant to spring for the legend over the simplex but i think ive watched enough vids to come to tbe consensus that the Legend will just be a more stable machine, needed something waterproof too.. Ill be be jumping in lake superior with the pro pointer
would you know why my bounty hunter tracker iv metal detector is effecting my HS-10 pinpointer? Also the pinpointer is effecting my metal detector. I think they both are effecting each other. Would you happen to know why and what should I do. I'm new on metal detecting. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. Love your videos and how you explain and show at the same time in your videos. They are very understanding and I learned a lot from them. Thank you.
@@DIGGINGRICHMOND I thought maybe I need to get a different pinpointer but I really like the HS10 because it vibrates, need that because I’m partially deaf, 45 percent of hearing lost in each ear. Also what did you mean by the same frequency.
I like the owl pictures behind you BTW. Did you take those? I am an artist and would love to be able to use the one directly behind you, but only with permission.
Do NOT buy the Garett pro-pointer. First I purchased within 1.5 months the light stopped working (I hunt at night), and the on/off switch began cycling in to crazy mode half the time it was turned on. I bought a replacement thinking that with Covid it would take forever to get the warrenty work done and right out of the box the 2nd brand new pinpointer beeped when held above horizontal. As anyone who digs knows, when you're exposing a plug you often have to tip the pointer up. Considering how much they cost, and considering issues people have had getting warranty work done (not to mention you pay for shipping), this is definitely not a product you want to invest in. I first metal-detected about 8 years ago, and had a garett pointer then and it was a trooper... the modern ones are just garbage.
The button on the carrot should not be an issue. Stay on level *3* only (highest sensitivity) and use the QUICK PRESS for fast retuning. This decreases the sensitivity. Page 4 of the manual.
I also bought the minelab a while ago. I was so happy that they offer a model with discrimination but the whole thing was the worst pinpointer i ever had. Fist the light is a bad joke like you told before. Then the discrimination is worthless, because big iron always comes in like nonferrous and small brass coins come in as iron if you only get them at the edge. The body is a nightmare because with gloves you always search for the button and if you found it the chance is 50:50 that you press the speaker on the oposit side. That sounds unimportant and maybe is funny at the first few times but belive me the frustration grows with the time. Ant then the vibration alarm can't be switched off. That thing rumbles so loud that you never need the speaker and you have no possibility to silence that thing. What the hell did they thought as they disigned that thing?
WOW, How many nickels and dimes do you have to find to buy just one of these high end pointers? I can buy a cheapy for just 10 bucks that work just fine for me and if it doesn't hold up just buy another one. I can buy over 10 cheap pointers for what you spend on one of these high end ones.
Thanks for watching everyone hopefully you got some info.
You spoke about the color and spongy things. Well we need information on how to buy the best technically to find gold nuggets not the color. thanks
bad audio
The two profind 35 I used both developed cracks on the pinpointer shaft and I do take care of my equipment !
I have had mi carrot for two years already and i haven’t had any issues so far the best pin-pointer in the market.
Try putting a 7/8 cap on it for a table or chair you can get one from ACE Hardware 4 for $1.50...Fits perfectly..
Enjoyed the video my friend..

Great tip regarding saving the packaging box for serial number.
We all learn from past mistakes. Cheers

I have a friend that has one. I will give it a try as soon as things settle down a bit. I will try Garret again to see where the H my pinpointer is???
Thank you for sharing this video. I was thinking about this exact one. Maybe?
Glad it was helpful!
I have used a carrot for years and never had an issue with the button. I still haven’t found one that works a well.
Gonna have one soon, hope it works good
Yes all the best

Agree! I cant't keep my Garett in the mode I actually want..very frustrating
Hi, how long do those 9V batteries last?
THANK YOU.
So which one is better I’m thinking about buying the Mindlab is it the better one
Yes I love the minelab get that for sure.
Does the Pro-Find have sensitivity through out the whole probe?
The Garrett has the serial number in 3 places, outside end cap, under the end cap inside, and inside the battery compartment.
Txs for that good information

i really dont know why it happens. If your frequency is the same maybe?? Try with a different machine to see if it happens with that one also.

They did send me a brand new machine. But it along time.

Yes these are my photos I am a wildlife photographer. I sell my images for stock and prints. You can go onto my web page. frankpaliphotography.com/

There are some unscrupulous eBay sellers selling crappie Chinese counterfeit pinpointers. Always check their feedback

Coopercup yes I think all the pinpointers need to be redone.
On mine I can shut the volume off to where it's just vibrate 😂😂😂 but yes it definitely makes a rumble when it vibrates
Might have been a good video but after 40 or 50 " Uuuuuummmm"s in 2 minutes I gave up. This man definitely was not meant for public speaking.
where is the guide?
👏👏👏🥂
I thought garrett pin pointers didn't come with a lanyard?
call garrett about your pin pointer
dude you could say all that in a minute you maybe good and know your stuff but your delivery is unwatchable.
1 button gets used to much..then eventually stops working.
