I have had two GP pointers they seem to vary so much hence some people say they are rubbish some great, the second one I got for a back up, but I am a bit deaf on high notes and that one I could hardly hear, I broke the on off switch trying to take it apart ! the first one is still going after 4 years but twice I have had to take it apart and solder a broken wire from the electrics part to the sensor part, the last time I replaced the solid wire with a flexible wire, I would recommend this modification if you are able to do it, take the rubber bung out of the on off button when you take it apart or you might break the switch ! I got an MD770 but was falsing with my NOX 600, the SHRXY GP 2 is what I am using now and its very good, at least the one I have got is good, time will tell.

Nice one, you can break that switch easy like you say but I did it ok, I think a lot of people use the crap battery that comes with some of them a good battery is my biggest advice, thanks for the comment and good luck it's nice to hear people getting these cheaper pinpointers to work well, good luck 👍👍

Spot on videos of budget products. Well done my friend. It's great to see that cheap can perform for those without much to spend on the hobby.

Yes have to say the MD-770 did impress me, down side is you would have to put away in rain but can't say I've detected in rain anyway, watch out for it going against the wife's Nokta pinpointer, thanks the comment 👍

Fascinating! Just ordered the MD-770 from Amazon for £12.99. Can't lose for that money!

It was the best of the cheaper pinpointers just make sure you put a good battery in it and good luck 👍

My pinpointer is nearly the same as the MD-770 but without the 3 LED's or the speaker. It has two buttons, one for ON/OFF, and one for the LED. It has vibrate only, but it is absolutely fantastic, it picks up the tiniest object at about 2-3 inches, and bigger stuff at about 5 inches. No idea what make it is, but I swear by it.
PS, you sound just like Sean Bean!

Cheers your pointer sounds good and it shows you don't need to spend a lot, thanks for the comment but I'm glad I'm not Sean Bean because I'd die in every video 😂😂😂😂😂

I had an issue with my Minelab Profind, very poor battery connection. I had to resort to packing some cardboard in the cap to push the battery down a bit tighter. This is a known problem with Minelab and Garrett pinpointers. I was on a club dig yesterday and someone else had exactly the same problem with his Profind so I did the cardboard fix on his too. Fortunately Crawfords have some foam disc inserts to put inside the cap. Apparently Garrett now fit these as standard, but it's not what you'd expect from a pinpointer costing over a hundred quid.

Very true, the black pointer has a foam insert and also a good connection which pushes on to the battery, thanks for the comment 👍

Elijah said he likes the way the black one has the signal strength lights on it. Great video comparison

nice one , the black one actually looks like a good one . We had a gp pointer and it was a waste of money but the similar one was green for 17 pounds and it was actually a good starter pointer .Good video

GP was my go to. I had about 5 of them over the years. They were great until you drop or something then they get erratic or not work at all. I finally bought a Garret carrot and have had not to even think about it any more. Expensive but the quality is there. I am a turn on and go user so I don't even know what all it will do. Not knocking the others at all. GPs were great. Never tried the black one on the video.

There's nothing wrong with the GP we gave it to the Grandsons (they have Nokta Hoards) and it's still working, the Black one impressed me it was very sensitive but the PulseDive just had it but £120 vrs £13 or something I've forgotten it should be better the PulseDive, thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍

The GP is also called an MD700. so you're comparing the 700 to the 770.

Good choice, these cheap ones do work if you're on a budget but the top pointers will always be the best, thanks for watching 👍

With the comments and MSG's I've had it does seem the GP comes in different specs, I did the fix on mine and people have said there's worked better when they hadn't done it or the sensor was already at the end so don't know, before I did the fix rings and small coins had to be nearly touching the end to register, baffled but thanks for comment and happy hunting 👍

The key to all detectors performance is ground handling capability..
Only air test if they the same models.
