    Picked up F Pulse yesterday, first Fisher product ever. You are correct, it blows the Garrett Carrot out of the water and into orbit, orbit around Pluto. Absolutely LOVE it!

    Just an FYI. The Land & Sea Pinpointer used pulse induction successfully for years before the F Pulse came out. It was an excellent off brand Pinpointer that unfortunately never really caught on because it was rarely advertised and only available from a few dealers (e.g. Golddigger).

    I have know clue why people go on about depth on a pinpointer. Your pinpoint with your detector and that should allow you to dig a plug in the proper location. Your handheld pinpointer is just to "pinpoint" the exact location of the target in your plug or the ground just outside your plug. You only want the pinpointer to go off when your within inches and then lead to within an inch of the target. You can debate pinpointers all day. I just spent a week going through all this depth and sensitivity nonsense. Almost ordered a few different ones. The only one I knew worked and not because of a review, but because it was what almost everyone used. I bought the carrot and never looked back. Some say the one button is a drawback. Turns out they just never learned how to use it. Set it up once. Turn it on and locate, hit the button and it pinpoint closer, hit the button again and it will only go off right on top of your target. You could close your eyes and find it.

    • @TheSluicers
      @TheSluicers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great stuff bro, I have a carrot as well and love it, but it all depends on size and shape of your target, take a beach for example, a good pinpointer may prevent you from needing to get your shovel out at all, sometimes your target may ring up deep but be really shallow and vice versa, the carrot is a solid pinpointer but wont get the same depth as the fpulse, however it does its job nice and easy no issues at all and would definitely be an extremely close 2nd place for me, and imagine if your pinpointer only had a 1inch depth, would be a total pain at pinpointing everything, and with the likes of the fpulse it progressively gets louder the closer you get, therefor making the extra depth no downside at all and just a bonus for the times when the target may be a bit deeper or in the lid. I definitely get what your saying on depth isnt as big a deal in a pinpointer as it is with a normal detector however its still handy to have. Cheers

    • @ArcanZA
      @ArcanZA ปีที่แล้ว

      Incorrect.Your statement applies to soil. Beach or river rocks is a different story. Digging targets under rocks is much easier under flat rocks with a pointer. Have found many silver coins which NOX guys missed since a detector does not hit targets under multiple rock layers. The metal detector signal gets dispersed and you pick up nothing. With the pinpoint you can get into tight spaces where your coil can't go. The pinpoint of a coil can get distorted due to mineralised soil or the halo effect of big iron objects. Try and find 0.925 silver in black sand. Have found more than 70 silver coins with a pin pointer alone.

    • @charlesoutdoors2424
      @charlesoutdoors2424 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normal rocks don't effect a metal dectors depth. If the metal detector didn't find it why would you be digging under multiple layers of rock in the first place. They don't call it a pinpointer for nothing. If you good enough the pinpoint on your detector will get you close enough for digging a small plug. Then the pinpointer will keep you from grabbing the detector and swinging over the hole and plug trying to see where it's at and then grabbing a hand for of dirt and running it past the coil. With a pinpointer I can go from getting close to getting the tip right on the target by hitting the detune button. I'm not buying a pinpointer to detect with. @@ArcanZA

    Pretty good and realistic representation for coin and jewellery hunting, if it was done with small gold nuggets the roles reverse with the Minelab coming out on top followed by the Nokta then last is the F-Pulse.

    I love the functionality of the F-pulse but they kept dying on me. They'd get a death screech & then crap out. I never dropped or abused them & after the first one which actually lasted the longest I absolutely babied the F-pulse but the second & third (all from the same place) had the death screech right out of the box which I took video of but they'd been sitting for quite awhile the boxes were completely faded. I'm gonna try one more from a different retailer because I loved the F-pulse otherwise but it was stressful never knowing if/when it was gonnacrap out on me.

      I think it could definitely work, but unless it’s large nugget country and you don’t have I normal detector I don’t think it would be worth it overall, it is very sensitive compared to other pointers but still doesn’t come close to most quality gold detectors, however if there was for example an utlra deep crevice you couldn’t get the detector in but wanted to check for bigger bits with the pointer it could work. Thanks for watching!

    • @TheSluicers
      @TheSluicers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@danzielinski672 It depends how close the gold is to the pointer, anything smaller then 1/10th of a gram it generally detect at all, but 1/10th-1/4 gram pieces it can get at an inch or maybe two two and a half depending on the surface area of the piece, anything bigger than that it can get at a reasonable depth as long as you are going over the crevice relatively slowly I would guess.

    I am new to metal detecting and still researching what is the best buy. Many frown on "air testing" metal detectors. Is this true for pin pointers?

    • @TheSluicers
      @TheSluicers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So Air testing can be less accurate then the ground for both detectors and pinpointers however soil can change so much from area to area an Air test is a much better baseline in my opinion as some pointers perform better in some soil but another patch they could perform way worse, so an air test is the best baseline. I would say it lasts just as long if not longer than other pointers. It used pulse induction technology which is totally different to other pointers, so isn’t necessarily using any more power. I would totally disagree, air is a very good baseline however when looking at ground it can vary from mineralised-not mineralised- dry - wet, so much more variable and won’t be valid at all for all detectors, I think an air test is a much better baseline to do an overall test.
