what is your favorite pinpointer? Which one do you use the most?
Which one is most durable?
Cool to see the pattern and how close they all are. Of course the White's would only give you the end result since they do not detect anything done the shaft.

isn’t less distance more desireable for a pinpointer?
yes and no. Initially you want the maximum detecting distance because you don't know exactly where in the hole the target is. If its responding too much, all pinpointers can be de-tuned to become more precise. If the target is 2 inches to the side of the hole and your probe can only see it 1.5 inches away, it does you no good.
Put some silicone grease on the O-ring for lubricant. Preferably electrical type.
J.S. Reynolds Not sure, so I probably would remove the O ring, and coat both sides to be sure, unless its too much of a pain to do.

No, only the 2 newest models (both orange) are waterproof
I suggest google the faults people are complaining about. Mine kept on alarming for no reason,got a lot worst over 12 months.it was replaced under warranty and the replacement was dead in the box. Wouldn't power up at all. He first one worked well when it worked...found heaps of coins with it.i hope minelab fix the problems because it's a great unit while it's working.

Thanks for the video! I was considering the Pro-find 35 for the ferrous option since I sometimes have to search my hole for an obscenely long time for my target because of nails. Same goes for river hunting which has tons of ferrous trash. I hate using the carrot because it picks up everything near it, even above and to the side which makes it difficult also.. The Whites TRX seems to have incredible range and a narrow tip with almost no side field. Makes life SO much easier in the field. Only thing is their thin rubber button cover wears thin then leaks under water which is what ruined mine.
In my opinion would be a pinpointer with a combination of all of these. Individual Minelab type controls with thick rubber and their ferrous discrimination feature. Garrott type speaker and heftiness of case. And of course the Whites sensing technology.with the narrow tip only field.
What is the best in your opinion ?

I bought a brand new 1 with 540 mine lab never has worked since day wasted alot of cash.
I had Same problem as most every one falsing and beeps wen u bump it battery is loose in there so I put a small twig to keep the battery from moving I'm not sending it back cuz I need it I set on low and use Garrett on high between both I get it done 130 bucks for that piece of shit come on minelab that's bs and you know it !!!!
