    Excellent video especially for your first time! The drone video and the background music were great. I also have a RDL seat with about 500 miles in it. I mailed my stock seat to them, did not have the opportunity to ride out there in November from the Midwest. I have over 200k miles on a few bikes using Harley seats and various after market seats, all well known manufacturers. The RDL seat is my gold standard. Wish I knew about them years ago, would have saved thousands on seat costs. Would have been riding in comfort long before now.

      Hey thanks Tom. I wish I could remake the whole video but I re-shot the front part and added the very last part for this one. The actual first one was on another channel but I wanted to go a different direction. It's still a work in progress. Thanks for the compliments and enjoy that RDL. I'll do a follow up to it when I have about 2,000 miles on it. It's been interesting weather so it will probably be about April or so. I appreciate the subscribe as well!

    Looks more like a Grand America than a Gold Wing, But i will be getting this seat when I get my BMW... Thanks for the video.

      Yes It's a GA. I edited the title. Because RDL does Gold Wings and others I included in title. So the ride in appointment applies. Thanks for stopping by!

    Good choice of the seat colors, definitely the way to go with the contrasting grey.

    Thanks dude, just reserved this room for the spring when I ride up to get my seat done. Great tip!

      Hey you're welcome. When I travel overnight on the bike I always get nervous for the bike being parked in the open. Good thing is the location is out of the way, and it's somewhat protected if any rain. And you can easily hear if someone messes with your bike. I had zero issues. Congrats....you'll love the seat but remember to give it about 500 miles before judging the comfort.

      @@californiahikebike Awesome, looking forward to it. I'm heading out towards Montana after they do the seat and then down to Texas and back, so it'll have plenty of time to break in.

    riding my Grand America up at the end of Nov (2022) to get mine done!

    • @californiahikebike

      Awesome. It does take 500-1,000 miles to break in but you will feel a difference right away. The motel mentioned is nothing special but I like parking my bike in the private carport right next to the room. And it WILL be cold. Wear layers! Don't forget to ask for their loaner seat. You can go ride while waiting.

    Very Informative! Thanks for taking the time Rob to share your experience. Did you use existing heater elements that were in your seat or did you go with RDL heater elements? Thanks again

    • @californiahikebike
      @californiahikebike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are very welcome. I did use the existing heater elements and they actually work better with the umbrella fabric that I used for my seat . But at the same time the umbrella fabric is also cooler in the summer time .

    Sir, what is your inseam and height? I just bought a k1600B and I'm thinking of going the same route as you with RDL seat. I'm 5' 9" with 31" inseam. I'm hoping to retain flat footed stops. Thanks!

    • @californiahikebike

      I'm 5'11", 32" inseam. Are you riding in or shipping your seat?

      @The Trail Buzzard in Pittsburgh Ahh ok. Make sure and call them to discuss your concerns. They will work with you on the height. You'll love the new seat!

      @@californiahikebike Yes sir, I’m going to see if they can keep me flat footed. Or as close as possible. I’ve owned a second hand RDL seat. It was on another bike I owned years back. So I’m accustomed to the comfort. It’ll probably be this next winter when I’ll spring for it.
