    Bruce, you seem like a nice genuine guy who’s bought a superb piece of German engineering. For that you are to be commended! I’m picking up my new R1250GS tomorrow in the U.K. and returning to larger capacity motorcycling so am eager to board my own ‘Gelande Strasse’. Now you have scratched your precious beast it’s surely time to go visit the endless off road forest trails that surround you there in the Schwarzwald. Some careful riding on those road tyres and you should be just fine....The bike will repay you many times over with the fun it will give you back

      On another note, take a look at the side stand enlargement base plate by Touratech (or SV Motech) specific for your bike. This and those bar raisers you mention are ‘must’ buys.

      Thank you. I would be up for the dirt roads if I can find the ones that don't have the car and motorcycle in the red circle where you are not supposed to ride. Seems like every one around me is not motorcycles allowed.

    Glad your bike is fine, awesome video and music, enjoy 👍🏽

    Yes I know that feeling - quite heart-stopping at the time. But as you say, not much damage, so all is well. The other thing you might consider is adding a shoe to the kickstand. It adds a bit more of a footprint, and makes the bike a bit more stable on uneven ground. Obviously won't stop the stand from folding, but I've put them on my bikes and it's a worthwhile, and cheap upgrade. Awesome ride.

    It is frustrating when that happens. Sorry to see this, considering the work and money that goes into this toys. Givi sell some plastic bumpers (crash bar protectors) that you can install on your crash bars and in the eventuality of another drop the bike will rest on those plastic bumpers. They will cover the scratch too and they are not expensive. Don't let this event put you down, enjoy your ride and keep smiling...life is to short.

      I'm not that concerned. You can hardly notice it. Loving the bike.

    Sucks about the bike, I had the same thing happen almost 2 weeks ago on a trip stateside. With the Super Tenere loaded down you have to be careful how and where you park as it doesn't lean enough. The bike doesn't have enough preload ability. Many people have changed the rear spring and I will do the same this winter. Sure enough one day we stopped for a quick break in a parking lot and a gust of wind was enough to blow it over. It came down on the right side crushing the RH pannier somewhat, bending the pannier rack on that side as well as scratching my engine guards. When I got home I had to replace the pannier. I was able to take the racks off and true it back up. As for the guards I used a fine file to take out the deepest scars and then wet sanded with 400 and 600. Then I put on 3 coats of satin black rust paint. You cannot tell it even happened now.

    I think you'll like the seat! The landscape is beautiful !! There is actually an aftermarket add-on that fits your kickstand to make it grip better. There's a you-tuber named Adam Chandler who can refer you to the vender. It makes the grip of it much wider.

    One review I read the guy said the bikes are amazingly good at just falling over for new reason. He suggested, when you first buy it, just go ahead and drop it on both sides to get it over with. Just added a bit of character!

      @Michael Burnside You have me beat it took me THREE whole days to drop my concourse! And ya, parking lot love marks and ride on.

      Ha ha. I still can't figure out how it happened. I wish I had the camera rolling. Then I wanted to pick it up right away. I should have at least gotten a picture of it.

      I was taking delivery of my new GS. The salesperson rode it out of the garage at the dealership to bring it to the parking lot and DROPPED IT!! If you can believe that one!!?? A little scratch on the crash bar, but the dealership replaced it with new. I figured he got the first drop out of the way for me! Ha! Man, was he embarrassed!!

    That little love tap is called patina. It shows you ride the bike.

    I am curious how you like the seat once you have used it for a season. I have looked at them before but shied away as it is dished out so much it looks like the sides will cut into the top of a person's thighs and also make it awkward putting your feet on the ground.

    • @mycirus
      @mycirus  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ill keep you posted. It does change things a bit. Its not as bad once you anticipate it.

      I used 3 GoPro Hero 7's. For the intro and outro I use a Canon 5DMK4. Thank you.

    Hey Bruce! when stopped at stop lights, that part on the side of the seat doesn't bother your legs, when they are touching the ground? Also, since you are in Germany, is it possible to get the seat manufactured in Europe, or in USA only? and ship it from there? Did you have to pay extra taxes and stuff?

    • @mycirus
      @mycirus  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im sure Europe has seat companies that can make a seat. RDL is in California so thats who I went with. I have an Army Post Office box here so for me it was like shipping it to the US and I didnt have to pay taxes. If shipped to a European address im sure you would be subject to VAT and the local Zoll would charge you appropriate taxes.

    Gutted for you about dropping the bike. I think that's when most have a slight moment. Just moving it not even running. I live seeing what you add to your bike. I watch all your vids. I'm not sure about the look of those seats tbh. I'll see how I get on with mine. That just looks a bit too much like an old jaguar seat or something. Actually scrap that. It looks like a high end new Jaguar or Range Rover seat or something. I think I'd get so much shit of my club members & mates. I'm getting loads already for buying the GSA in the first place Haha. I also dont want to be sat up any higher. I'm only 5"9 . Glad your enjoying the seat though. Loved the different camera views. Nice scenery. Keep it up. 👍

    • @mycirus
      @mycirus  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. This seat isn't for everyone which is why you see them pop up for sale on ADV Rider. If you can manage the height the comfort makes up for everything else.

    Hi Bruce, not a nice feeling dropping your bike. Why dont you look into getting a big foot for your side stand, good for gravel and sand. Seat looks good. Enjoy.

    • @mycirus
      @mycirus  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah Ill look around. It was on its side stand. It either shifter when I let off the front brake or that stick got me. Im not sweating it. As Skip says, its patina.

    I'm in the market for a new seat. How would you compare the Russell Day Long to the Corbin? Ever had a Sargent seat? Is your Russell leather or vinyl?

    • @mycirus
      @mycirus  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Corbin isnt bad and is better than stock and the ground control is still good. The RDL is super comfy and makes all day riding a breeze. I have a Sargent on the VFR and I find it to be kind of hard and just ok. My Russell is leather. Its not cheap. If you can find someone local with one to try it out first. Just know they use pictures of you to adjust the pocket to the right spot.

      I bought a mic but the way it plugs in to gopro gets in the way of the mount. I'll come up with a solution eventually but for now this is all I got.

    Love the saddle.
    What happened to video resolution? Only 360p?

    • @Doug_Morgan
      @Doug_Morgan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is 1080p for me. If you watch it immediately after it is uploaded you can only view in 360. It takes TH-cam a bit of time before full resolution is available.

    Meh! I have dropped mine twice now and only had it a month! And I don’t have any crash bars. Sucks. But like you said what can you do. Keep on keeping on!😎 Check out Rox Risers! Roxspeedfx.com I visited their place in Minnesota and they make an awesome product.
