      How do you get rid of the joint pain? I’ve been using my right hand so much to make up for the left and now I have it in the right thumb also.

    Oh my goodness I play guitar and this cured my pain. Barre cords can really tear up a thumb so thank you SO MUCH!

    Thank you Dr Jo….. I’m a knitter/crocheter and am always feeling pain in what I now know is my CMC joint. With this pandemic, I’ve crafting every day and the pain has been constant … your exercises have helped alleviate this discomfort…..I must remember to do these everyday. Thank you.

      That's why I'm here as well. Can't understand why the hand just holding the work is the one that hurts. Seems it should be the one holding the crochet hook.

      I really thank you for posting this video. I hold my phone a lot on my left hand and trying to open a jar with my left hand it was fine! Except that the next day and days after my thumb felt dislocated. I don't know if it is my CMC. The pain t's at the base of my thumb. Help! I will try your exercises

      Thank you for this. I do yoga. Will positions such as downward dog and arm balances such as Crow Pose exacerbate the arthritis in my thumb?

    Thank you SO much for making this video, and posting it! I am a veterinarian, and use my hands every day for surgery and treatments. Arthritis in my hand was beginning to make me worry that I couldn’t keep doing my work! These exercises are helping me already! You are a gem!

    I’ve had some pain in the middle of my thumb area from playing Cello for years and it’s been hurting my technique a lot but I haven’t considered that I might have arthritis because I’m pretty young (19 M), hopefully this will solve my problems 😁 Im really feeling the stretches at 1:30 and 2:50 with my pinky finger

    Mindblown... My thumb felt weird after playing Video Games for the past couple days. (3-4 hours of gaming per day) I felt like I lost my Aim etc but these exercises really reliefed my thumb and it doesn't feel heavy anymore. Thank you so much!!!

    You are a wonderful person; there are no words to thank you. During the pandemic, I had hip joint pain that was really unbearable, but your guidance helped me a lot.     Thanks so much for this! I am 37 years old, so no arthritis yet but I play the guitar and I generally suffer from every kind of guitarist-related tendonitis. My thumb is killing me the last days and I am hoping these exercises will help me get back to my practice routine.

    Hey Doctor, amazing video thank you so much.
    I hyperextended my thumb 18 months age but I still experience pain but mainly through my UCL. Are there other exercises I can do to help manage the pain? Ive started physio and hoping I can reduce/eliminate the pain.

    Just diagnosed with cubital tunnel left side, carpal tunnel bilaterally and thumb arthritis bilaterally. And dupuytrens contracture left pinkie. Of course the orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery from elbow to pinkie - not interested! I've started all the exercises you have online. Still early in my rehab but I'm very happy that you are out there giving good information.

    Excellent stretches! To all the folks who want to try indoor climbing gym: take it slow. No more than 30 minutes for first several times. Or you can get a nice dose of Dequervain's. Dr. Jo is here to help...if you do.

    I got into a fight, and after that, my thumb started paining a bit. Earlier, I thought it would go away by its own, but it remained persistent. It's been more than 20 days now, and I was just thinking to see a physiotherapist tomorrow morning itself before I played this video. And guess what? Stretches shared by you has helped me a lot: now I'm feeling very less pain compared to earlier, and movement has also gone more relaxed and free of pain.

    Its late, the rooms dark, found this by luck, and did all your thumb exercises...
    WOW, it really has alot of potential for helping my thump CMC discomfort. It started about 12 months ago and has progressively gotten worse. Hopefully your sharing this series of simple exercises will help. THANK YOU DR. JOE

    thanks that was great. i’ll do that every morning now. i’m a writer and i write a lot of orders at work with pens in uncomfortable situations sometimes and it’s been sore the past two days. these stretches helped!

    omg thank you so much I have well I don't know but I'm pretty positive I have tendonitis in my thumb for working it too much cuz I had tendonitis in my arm and I know what that feels like so I'm technically diagnosing myself with tendonitis in my thumb. And I did those exercises and it's actually working. Thank you so much.

    The last one fixed my pain in moving thumb and stretching it .. I used to feel sudden resistance and clicking feeling in my hand on forearms and at the thumb area at certain angle of stretching my thumb.. thank you so much .. I thought my thumb has fractured but in reality it was just a case of misplaced stretching in forearms muscles causing stiffness in my thumb.

    These aew exactly what I needed! My CMC joint in my left thumb is horrible. I used to be double jointed - now I am quite the opposite. THANK YOU!!!
