I really feel for Star Wars fans. As an outsider, I see a corporate entity grabbing cash while putting the franchise in the hands of untalented and inexperienced creatives who appear disinterested in the soul & legacy of Star Wars. And that must suck as a fan.

I feel like it’s more sinister than that. These people aren’t just being flippant about lore, they are intentionally antagonizing fans. Going out of there way to do blatantly slimy things, claim they are not doing it, then when the evidence is presented they just laugh and mock the fans.
The anti-white male thing is a prime example: we could all see how aggressively they were shoving “diverse”, female and “queer presenting” characters with all white males being sidelined. When pointed out, that was just dismissed as insecurity and racism, then O’keefe exposes the Disney anti-white male policy, and now they are releasing videos mocking fans, outwardly admitting they don’t like white men and pretending that their racism is justified.
      It’s not. It never is.

I was done with Star Wars when they destroyed Han Solo's character and then killed him in such a stupid way...and when they had to one-up the death star. So many people were coming out of the cinema going oh, that was so epic or whatever, and I didnt get it. Every prequel was better than the Force Awakens. And pretty sure just about everything else they've made, though I havent and have no plans to watch any of it.

While the “super speed” in ep 1 was too much I think it is reasonable that the force enhances physical abilities making Jedi faster, able to jump higher, etc.
And other force powers, mind reading, shatter point, battle mediation, witch magic, old with rituals, etc, I think are good for the world. BUT they need to be limited, the writes need to make it clear those abilities require year or decades of specialized training and dedication. You can almost think about it like education the basic are: telekinesis, mind tricks, physical amplification, lightsabers and foresight/sensing. Every Jedi learns those and can use them then there are more advanced things shatter point, rituals, lighting, battle mediation, etc. These would reserved for Jedi masters who have a deeper understanding and connection to the force and have dedicated years/decades to the study, development, and practice of a couple specific abilities.
This is basic game design logic, cool abilities require specialization. A master Jedi diplomat cloud have something like what squid game used on the crazy guy but his padawan should be decades away from that level of manipulation. The fact the writers can’t even build in a basic system like that has killed modern starwars and taken the fun out of old EU force abilities that were much stronger then what we see in the movies.

I know you guys don't exactly get into the broader hot-button issues going in around the world in lieu of pop culture and cinema but; the thing you guys were talking about on the competency seeming to be too high a standard for basic work in writing/producing/directing isn't limited to only cinema/Hollywood - it's a damn pandemic of incompetent / lazy workers that, I believe at least, stems from the broader societal nihilism that's rapidly washing over our society in the West. (And the East too, actually)
It's... bad. Anywhere I go, an order gets messed up on something extremely basic. A shipment gets lost for one single item. A car repair goes horribly wrong due to god-knows what reasons etc etc... The list of examples I've experienced PERSONALLY in just the last two years is staggering. Of course there's numerous reasons behind all this but I just wanted to overall say: competency is at all-time low across the ENTIRE job workforce. (Also I've noticed many people today, regardless of age or gender, have horrendous/nonexistent work ethic)

@@matthewcarroll2533 no, what your saying is just wrong lmao. people are just as incompetent as they were pre-2020 (if not less). Only difference between the 90s, 00s, and 2010s is that as time progresses more opportunities become available and theres more of a chance that, what can be best described as those that are "less bright" slip through the cracks. Imagine what the best film stars from the 70s think of 90s flicks.

Totally agree, quality has decreased everywhere mainstream, while prices have all gone up.
Clothing, food, service, airlines, the Disney parks, musical equipment etc etc.
I recently got a mini hifi system from the early 2000s and the quality of the sound from just a basic little system that used to be available in a department store is astounding compared to a $500 portable speaker available at the moment.
Cinema tickets cost an arm and a leg but Cinema decorum has gone out the window.
There's a real tangible decrease in care and an increase in hopelessness.
I think Echo Chamberlain mentioned something in a video about Gen Z wanting to see themselves and our current world reflected in media, while previous generations (especially millenials) preffered entertainment that was either somewhat aspiration, inspirational or at the very least, fun escapism.

Is this a repost? [Nope, but nap time for me !] I saw this... Either way, There's a reason why most ytubers don't use those flashy lights behind them: the flicker rate is psychoactive.* When I was on good terms with AZ I told him about this, and he took the lights down, even the florescents themselves can be used to flicker (the electricity itself gets modulated and why the change to LEDs, btw... LEDs can be protected super easy, barely an inconvenience... most often used to keep the ppl docile, but it's way better without the gov't programming flicker lights. I can't put links in ytube comments anymore but any Google search about this should be easy to verify or falsify. Check footnote...
I think it's funny you have either a Nick Cage Black guest (guy that still can stand the pain to keep the top of his head blond... perfectly natural) or a Snoop Dog Black guest like this video. I vote for this guy over the big guy cause the Snoop says more interesting things and seems more mentally active than the Nick Cage guy.

On the subject of Andor not really being Star Wars. This is my opinion also, tho not because it doesn't have lightsabers or whatever, but because it lacks the magic of SW. It is a case of adults taking something that was made for all ages and hogging it to themselves. Even tho I am obviously an adult, I kind of resent it as a result, despite it generally being well written etc.
As a sidenote, they really hamstrung themselves by focusing on the character of Andor, and naming the show after him. Should have come up with a new character who isn't dull as dishwater and whose destiny wasn't already known, and named the show "The Rebellion" or something along those lines.
