Nothing cures the blues like a good ole cheesy 80's ninja flick. Whenever I'm feeling down a viewing of American Ninja 2 always perks me right up, such a masterpiece :D
The George S. Clinton soundtrack really boosts the energy on that one, makes it pair well with Avenging Force too. Hard to beat the pure inscrutable cheesy insanity of Revenge of the Ninja, though.

The Shrug of Death truly is a classic. Though my favorite in the ninja trilogy is still Ninja III: The Domination. It starts out with awesome ninja insanity on a golf-course.... and then spirals farther and farther away into total madness. It truly has to be seen to be believed. But I do wonder... will The Snob ever do the immortal classic known as The Ninja Mission?
The reason Hasegawa hasn't learned how to properly pat someone on the head is because in Japan and other parts of Asia, it is considered rude to touch someone on the head. It's thought to be condescending and disrespectful. So it's likely that in this movie, rather than the man being killed by Hasegawa somehow crushing his head with that tiny Asian hand that doesn't even fit around his crown, he more likely symbolically died from the shame of having a little Japanese man touch his head and belittle him.
So Sonny Corleone went back to his ethnic homeland, met Franco Nero, joined the French Foreign Legion, fought in the Angolan Bush War, bought a sugar plantation in the Philippines, married Susan George, and gets killed by Sho Kosugi AFTER being shot 500 times by Virgil the Turk's men. What a diverse life Santino Corleone has led.
I can't see a ninja without thinking of that panhandler with the sign that read. Family stolen by ninjas. need $$$ for karate lessons to get them back.
"A ninja eliminates...but there are exceptions" Guess you get a lot of liberty in the "exception" part of the job according to the bodycount in this video. These last reviews have been pretty damn amazing, and the year just started! Thanks for all the laughs Snob:)

The thing that makes Ninjas a joke is the fact that they're not violence crazed kung fu maniacs. In reality they're highly trained spies. They're so good at what they do that they are never detected. If they do kill or incapacitate somebody, it's for the sole purpose of accomplishing their mission. Even then it's usually their final option

Hey Brad, you probly never will read this but you should do a review of the Swedish produced Ninja Mission by legend Mats Helge Olsson. The movie that help launch & finance New Line Cinema into greatness.
I'm going to have to disagree with you on one point. The Octagon ( 1980) kicked off the ninja movie craze. It just didn't have ninja in the title. But it did have ole Hickory Chuck Norris in it.
nothing beats brad talking about ninjas with moustaches! and a kung kwon todd reference, maybe a little norm of the north joke? and appearance from long lost kung thai ted? this video has it all!
Enter the Ninja is mostly a ripoff of Bruce Lee's The Way of the Dragon, because Way of the dragon was about Tang Lung (Bruce Lee) helping a family member preventing the syndicate buying the restaurant while Enter the Ninja is mostly a similar concept where it's Christopher George wants to buy the land from Alex Courtney.
1980s assassins =A guy that use to be fat and could never get laid, until he found an old Japanese guy preying to his potato chip and montage happens for 2 minutes while a cheesy song plays, then the guy fight some other guys, kills the boss and get laid every second for being 2 cool
Its crazy how similar the start of this movie is to Ninja Gaiden Black. Main character just shows up, fights ninjas in wilderness, climb cliffs, interior dojo looks very similar, sorta boss fight, turns out its training resulting in main character and "bad guy" sitting down and talking.
I only remember two things from the one time I watched this when I was a kid: the opening sequence, and that a friend I watched it with thought Enter The Ninja was the actual name of the main character.

Glory! I watched the hell out of this as a kid. My mom recorded it on vhs with the first vcr we ever owned and I wore it down playing it so much.
This day was going pretty shitty up until the moment I saw a new Snob video had been uploaded. My day's looking a lot brighter now.
