@jenuds, at 3:45, please explain why it needs the y splitter cable and NOT directly connecting from the combined output line. I am confused since I haven't seen the use of the other port from the y splitter. Thanks!
I tried direct and it didn’t work for Recording/Streaming. I have to use the splitter as I am converting the TRS to TRRS so it’ll work for Recording or streaming.

Hi - thank you for this video. While I am able to record my voice in ipad (garageband) when using my XLR dynamic mic connected to 1st input channel. When I try to connect the same XLR dynamic mic to 2nd input channel then nothing gets recorded into the garage band. I can see the green lights fluctuating in focusrite 2i2 for the 2nd input channel but nothing is getting recorded in ipad/iOS. Does iOS device allow input from only 1st channel and not 2nd?

If you want to record to your iPad, you will have to copy on this video, I connected the iPad from the back of the focusrite using a TS dual mono to 3.5mm TRS. Then from a Y splitter-connect the other end of the TS dual mono to the mic port of the Y splitter then to your iPad provided your iPad has a headphone port. Different connection if your iPad does not have a headphone port.
I want to take audio FROM my ipad to the focusrite 2i4 and the ipad does have a mini (1/8 inch) headphone jack,,,I plu in headphones and hear, but not when I run the mini to 1/4 out to the 2i4

hi, how about conneting an iph 13 instead of the ipad which doesnt have the jack socket? will need settings to use lighting jack adapter ? tried that but the phone recognise it as handsfreee instead of microphone. want to film with my iph 13, thannks 🤗
Is your lightning adapter from Apple Store? Most of the adapter not from Apple Store are only as headphone adapter for you to hear but will not record.
Is there anyway I can get the focusrite interface to go through the v8? As the mic cause I've purchased 3 diff v8s trying to find the best way to use my dynamic mic as I have 3 diff mics now, one condenser, one dynamic and one USB condenser? X
They’re should be a way except the usb mic if It doesn’t have a headphone port.

If you meant switch the iPhone and iPad, yes you can however you will need a lightning adapter on your iPhone to connect the y splitter (adapter from Apple Store works). As long as there is garage band in the iPad. Some older iPads are not compatible with garage band.

Hi, thanks for the video. This is what I am looking for. Im wondering why I can’t make it work. There’s an output audio when I connected the line output to speakers, but the when I connected it to my iphone for recording/stremaing, it doesn’t work.
Sorry to hear that. Are you using lightning to 3.5mm Female adapter or dongle? If you do most likely the issue is the lightning adapter. Most of the lightning adapter you can buy elsewhere are only for headphone adapter which you can hear but it will not work for Recording or Streaming. I bought mine from Apple Store.

The focusrite I used has 2 input. You can connect the guitar to input 2 or mic 2. Please watch out the volume as it peaks if it’s too loud.
Can a beringer sound card be used in the place of the focusrite?
I don’t have a Beringer yet to test with but I think it works the same

Could I live stream on my iPhone using the USB Audiobox 96 interface with my phantom powered microphone, and use my iMac as my background audio?
You should be able to. Unfortunately I can’t really show you how as I don’t have that kind of audio interface yet.
@@jenuds that’s perfectly understandable. I was thinking about purchasing the Yamaha MG82CX and using that instead with two phones one for live broadcasting and the other for background music as I’m not sure if my iMac 🖥️ would work for the background music?
@@snowblowmac9238 You should try first. I have a feeling it should would. You can use the garage band from your iMac, then connect your interface as you would. In my opinion, using an audio interface is a bit tricky for streaming purposes.

@annawyborn8706 I’m not super if we’re on the same page. If you’re using the lightning camera adapter, you connect from the interface/sound card to your device or iPad pro (as I said I don’t really have an iPad pro so you can only try this) thru the usb port (camera icon port) of the adapter while the lighting port then lightning to your device. The lightning port of the adapter - use a regular lightning cable to connect to a power bank.
Great video!! I would like to know if, with this type of configuration, I would be able to stream simultaneously to two devices? So let's say on the iPad I would stream on Facebook and on the iPhone instead of running Garageband I would stream on Instagram. Would that work?
First of all if you don't connect or use garage band, there won't have voice effects like echo and reverb. If you want to connect to 2 devices you will need an audio splitter from the Focusrite to your iPad and iPhone which means you will need 2pcs of TRRS to headphone and mic splitter.

Hello, can I just use focusrite audio interface straight to my samsung s20 for live video recording? I don't have any other device unfortunately.
I don’t know yet what app to use for video recording and at the same time will give you
vocal effects. You may try Smule or Starmaker app and there are vocal effects to choose from within that app. For audio recording only, you can try Bandlab app.

I only had a chance to do a test today. If you connect the focusrite to a power bank then to the sound card, it didn’t work for me. It only work for me when I connect the focusrite to a device like Samsung device then to the sound card. It’s always best to use an audio interface like focusrite with a DAW.

Do you have iPad pro? I wasn’t able to connect my Focusrite to my iPad- simply wouldn’t work. I tried different connectors including the one with a camera slot

let's say i only use channel 1 on my mic, can i make it stereo sound ?.. because i have my vocal effects+backing track/music on channel 1. i don't need channel 2, but i want to make it stereo output. is that possible ?

Im using the scarlett 2i2 with the galaxy fold 3 by plugging it in directly with the usb c cable
I can play music or any content and it sounds great but whenever i try to use the microphone on the voice recording app the quality is really bad
That make sense coz using a Focusrite up need a third party application or DAW For your vocals to have effects. I have not tried yet connecting my Focusrite to an android phone. I’ll include that on my videos to make.

Not all USB C adapters work specially if it is not compatible with your device. I suggest buy usb c adapter from apple store. Great video! I have the same interface and I use it to live stream with my iPhone on Facebook. At first I had no issues but after like the third try when I live-stream the sound isn’t full. You can only hear the microphone on the right side of my headphones and the instrument on the other. Is there a fix for this?
In my set up I can hear the mic on both sides but the background music is on one side only. Unfortunately, don’t know how to fix it yet.

Kung sa focusrite, halimbawa Garage band gamit nyo. mas maganda kung econvert nyo muna ang song to mp3 then set it as track 1 then sa track 2 ang inyong vocals para malinis po ang output at maaadjust or maeedit nyo po ang minus 1 at vocals separately. Sa ganitong recording, isang phone lang po gagamitin as long as may lyrics or memorize nyo po ang kanta

Yes that’s possible but a bit trickier as you will need a DAW for vocal effects and route the audio from there to your streaming. Without a DAW, your vocals will be flat with no reverberation/echo.

Sorry I can’t figure out coz you should be able to hear the music as well. Try using the TRS(with 2 lines at the end) to connect your background music. Just checking if did you used an adapter to your phone, like lightning adapter. If the audio don’t have effects like reverb from the garage band the fact that you have turn it up from the garage band then you’re not using the right adapter.

Unfortunately, garage band is only for iOS and macOS platform.

Hi sis ...sori... Just ask, all the cable is in already.. when on focusrite mic n gain light is blinking... Then i change the cable usb adapter to laptop.. and test the sound is okay.. and no blinking but the problem is... I can't set the reveb and effect on garage band..when i touch monitor garage band "to use monitoring, connect a pair of headphones (or other external audio device) to your device? 😅

This set up is for solo streaming.
I followed your setup. I add effects, i can hear it on my monitor headset. But on the live stream, i sounded clean. No effects at all. How is that.. thank you..
Did you use an iPad or another iPhone using lightning adapter for streaming? Coz adapter could be the issue as not all works.

I heard about issues on Tiktok streaming. Unfortunately, I can’t really do a test coz I’m not qualified yet. I was able to record through Tiktok then post it on Tiktok. I thought if I can record through Tiktok, that would be the same audio output on live streaming, but I could be wrong.

@@jenuds I think you can live stream on Tiktok but you would need to hear audio out from the phone you are streaming with, if you are live with a group of people. Should this setup allow audio out from the phone?
@@liamg6824 In this specific set up in this video, you can monitor the audio from the focusrite as I used the headphone port of the iPad. But there should be a way I think.

If you're recording or streaming on the same laptop where you open the DAW, I don't know how yet. But if you're streaming or recording to a different device other than the laptop, then set up is same in this video or you might need an adapter for connecting your phone.

In this video she showed a Y-connector which she plugged in with the IPAD, and another end of the connector has two ports, headphone and mic ports. In your case, if you want to play the background music from the device where you are live now, then just connect the headphone port of Y-connector with the second line-in port of Focusrite.
