After buying a new blower motor, ac compressor, and replacing the fuses, no go. Find your video, and sure enough same problem! Wish I seen this sooner would have saved me a headache or two, haha. Off the the salvage yard in hopes of finding a cheep one if not ebay. Thanks for the detailed info!!
Always happy to see a car Dr video. Looks like you got all the roofing shingles out of the garage. Happy New Year.
Yes, they are all put on the roof! Happy New Years!
If blower motor wont run be sure to check fuse number 22 under dash a/c, relay fuse. Problem with AC or loose belt burnt this fuse.
Fuse 26..Fixed my car in 1minute after 6 months with no fan...FYI : fuse replacement and fuse removal under the hood in the fuse box Forester 2010 !

I have an ‘05 Outback XT with a similar issue. After replacing all A/C components: Compressor, Condenser, Evaporator, Expansion Valve, etc., now the jdm Climate Control Unit is not turning on. I verified the fuses are good and A/C Relay is good too (clicks). I checked with a test light and it does turn on for a couple of pins on the connector that supplies power to the HVAC unit, but it won’t turn on.. What do you think it can be??
Same here. Baffled.
Hi Tim. I watch your videos related to Subaru and love the way you explain issues and suggest solutions. Its matter of time that i am struggling with an issue with my Subau Forester, 2005, 2.0X, Non-turbo. I recently cleaned my throttle body, PCV valve, TPM sensor, MAP sensor, EGR valve and IAC valve. After refitting them in car, my Suby behaving awkward way. Idle RPM are gone high and there is a fluctuation. Same time i am getting some oil burning / overheating smell with some smoke coming up from somewhere down near catalytic converter/ drive shaft boot. Please give some clue on these two issues. Thanks a ton bro for help.....:-))
Thanks for the step by step solution finding . Brilliant,
Where do these connect to? The Blower resistor?
Great info!!! Thanks for posting!!
Thanks Tim. Had a Cherokee with a dead blower motor, replaced it to find out excessive draw toasted the high terminal on the control head. Fixing cars IS fun, RIGHT ????
Fixing cars is fun most days. Hehehe
Very good tips good to see you car doctor and happy new year
I inherited a Subaru from my wife that she was not knowledgeable enough to not buy one, the parts are super expensive and most are dealer only finally, the transmission went out and it was donated to charity and ended my misery
I do like to go with OE when possible. Some parts you cant even think of aftermarket unless you want to buy yourself a nightmare. Glad you were able to bless a charity with it....
Happy New Year Tim and family....Hows the new shop working out for you Tim?
The new video studio is getting close. Just a few finishing touches. Hope to make some vids from there soon!
Good day from Ontario. Boy to have no heater up your way could get kinda cold. Happy new to you Thanks
Been well below zero (F) here for much of the winter. Good for business at the shop. Hard on electric motors. Stay warm!
@@ThecardoctorTV Thanks you too
Been a spell since we've seen you. Hopefully well see more of ya. Take care.
Hope to be more active, we shall see. Thanks for the visit
2013 Subaru Impreza fan speed control broke.
I have a 2013 Subaru Impreza Premium & the fan speed control dial seems broken. It won’t click in place to OFF or 4, the fan doesn't turn on at any setting, but I can switch between fresh & recycled cabin air & the light passive air coming through when set on fresh air can still be heated. Anyone have this problem and or know what needs fixing/replacing? If its just the dial that's broken, do I need to replace all 3 dials, air direction, fan speed, & tempature? Thanks in advance.
0:51 dare ya to eat a fry out of the Wendy's box!! Well holy hell I was hoping it was something simple like a blower resistor or fuse
Holy hot ! Mine is 08 RAM 1500 doesn't wanna switch from feet heat to windshield and back ? Are they vacum ?
should be electric
Oh, hell no. Electric crapuater, err uhh I mean actuator and extra crappy err plastic breakable blend doors 50-50 chance on which one or both is/are broke. Last Ram I did needed 1 actuator and 4 doors.
@@terryharvey4811 DAMN
They make a new HVAC plenum for those that fixes that.
Whats the difference in dodge ram 5.7 between 2005 and 2006
Thank you!!!
Very helpful. Wish you'd shown how to tighten the connections in the wires. :)
Also, got one of these from a salvage for about 50$
Just a tiny bit of damp creates a bad connection, and a resistor is created.
I call it bernie 😀
Seems like them resistors make great heaters. Instead of blower motors they should just put 100 resistors in a box and then heat will come out...
@@ThecardoctorTV i thought that was the job of the engine, to get hot and burn up lol.
Old cars use a resistor selection for fan speed, modern cars use pulse width modulation to drive the motor.
Fancy pants, but they still fail lol 😀
Where is your shop located at

I been having an intermittent working non working blower motor in my 02 GrandPrix replaced both the fan motor and resistor. Come to find it was a bad ignition switch. I was able to make the fan come on by cycling the ignition switch to the start position and back while driving down the road. Who woud of thought?
Probably just reflow the solder on the circuit board.
Well the switch was a little toasted but im sure we could have rigged something up. I just like throwing $300 parts at them.
WHY COULD THEY NOT PUT VALVE RELIEFS IN THE PISTONS IN THIS TIME BOMB
NO FAN GOT A [FREE ONE] HA HA
At least put piston return springs in them. hehe
@@ThecardoctorTV not a lot of mechanics sell timing bells on these for some reason
Who needs a heater anyways
Heaters are for woosies.
@@ThecardoctorTV 🤣. 🥶🥶🥶
I just saw a news item this morning where the average price of a used car is $29K!
Watching a lot of Ew Toob videos, I've come to the conclusion that Subaru really isn't that capable of an off road vehicle.
If you can get some ground clearance i think they might do favorable offroad. Not sure how easy it would be to jack one up or put bigger tires on it. Ill leave that to you young bucks.
@@ThecardoctorTV I think most Subaru(es) have pretty good ground clearance but for some reason, there are many off road recovery videos featuring them as the towed vehicle. I'm an old fart, probably much older than you and I have a two inch lift on my full size van but then again, I think it's a more convenient vehicle for my use.
