First I love that you are okay with showing us the mistakes along the way.
Momma always skimmed the cream off the top of our milk (fresh from the cow, but we por it in the fridge overnight) then Granny or Momma skimmed the cream and put it in our churn (old fashioned crock one with a wooden plunger) and gave me job of churning while I waited for the school bus. I LOVED churning the cream into butter. I still do mine in the jar, shaking it back and forth while watching TV in the evenings, lol.

To make butter skim the cream off the top of the milk and just use the cream. That’s the way my Mamaw taught me.

Proud of you for not giving up, good job. Just remember, with a cow comes more cream, hence more butter. Way to go. TY

You can make compound butter/flavor with your favorite herbs and spices. Great on any protein.

Instead of using the paddle attachment on your mixer, use the whisk attachment. And throw a towel over it. You’ll have butter in no time! 😊

You are up-front and honest. You also have an incredible sense of humor. That being said, don't give up on the dairy cow please. If that is at all possible. Look at what I found out
"Butter yields vary depending on the skill and experience of the butter maker. One gallon of milk will usually yields one to one and one-half pints of cream. The cream will churn to approx. 1/3 to ½ lb of butter." And
"The average dairy cow can produce between six to seven gallons of milk each day." And
"Jersey Cows give milk that is high in butterfat and perfect for ice cream."
That's ice cream or butter or cheese.
    So don't give up. You've You've got t🐄😁

Knowledge is power. Let your milk set in the fridge overnight. Skim off the cream. Let the cream set until it's room temperature. Shake or blend the cream until it clumps. Gently pull the clumps of butter together. Put big clump of butter in ice cold water and wash/spread it against the side of the bowl. Drain water and repeat until the water is almost clear. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt if you want to. Work/mash as much water out of it as you can. Refrigerate.

Oh my Tiffany, hahaha. I was trying to holler through the internet to make you stop with it unseparated lol. Glad you finally figured it out! The pickled eggs and carrots look delicious. Jess at R&R has a pretty good video on her cooking channel The Farmer's Table about making butter from scratch and it's titled "How to make BUTTER from scratch!" - in case you want a quick refresh. Jess makes hers from cows milk. Heather at Sage and Stone Homestead has a lovely video on making butter too, but she makes hers from goats milk - which is slightly different because cows milk will separate on its own to a cream layer but goats milk doesn't and would require a cream separator. 💚💚

Out here living the Hawai'ian dream making it happen, but we all forget the humidity. Hawai'i is a nice place to visit, but people do live here, and Hamakua is doing everything we can't. Like she says @10:39, Shawna is learning every mistake for us.
You can't just show up and say 'Wow! Look at my Hawai'ian acres!', Mark. You have to put in the love, sweat and occasionally tears like Shawna does and it's not just her. It's Scott and the whole fam coming around to help at butchering time. Homesteads don't just happen. They are built.
