does it feel scary to ride off road compared to the 300? like if you whiskey throttle it will make you crash easily? is the throttle easy or snatchy on / off
It’s very rider friendly. Never had an issue with whiskey throttle. I’m good with the stock throttle, but it comes with throttle tamer pullies as well.
How smooth is the 500 compared to the 300 on pavement? Is there a lot more vibration? Like others, I'm trying to decide whether the ktm is worth the extra cash. Thanks.
It vibrates more than the 300, but not to where it’s annoying or anything. I never seem to notice it. It’s 75 lbs lighter and has almost twice the power after a GET ECU so naturally it’s going to vib more. I put on some softer grip ODI grips and it helped. Plus a Seat Concepts seat.
Great video, I’m deciding between this or klx300 obviously I want the KTM 500 I just want to make sure spending the extra 6k for it will be worth it. I’m 6’5 240 pounds occasional street riding and no hardcore off-road
At that height and weight I’d definitely recommend the 500. Has much better suspension stock and can be adjusted. Not to mention the extra power for a bigger rider. I loved my 300, but even at 190 lbs I found myself constantly wanting for more power.
To me the extra money for the KTM is definitely worth it. It all depends on what your budget is and what you’re wanting in a bike. For me it was a light weight bike with a lot of power more like a mx bike. I got that in the KTM.
@@jasonlayton8760 nothing at all wrong with the KLX300. I was in the same boat as you. KTM wasn’t in the budget when I got the KLX300, but about a year later things just worked out.
I know there’s a big suspension difference.
But at almost double the price, would you say the suspension is twice as good?
Yes. Definitely.
Where are you riding? I'm in Houston and im always looking for new loops to ride.
Oh it’s just a dirt road a few miles from my house in Lufkin.

getting my KLX300 today, but have a feeling I'll be doing the exact same swap in 1-2 years, lol
Man you’ll love it. It’s a great bike. I just wanted a bike more like my race bike if that makes sense lol
@@Kalani_938 totally!

Those continental tires actually have been recalled
Yeah I know. In the process of trying to get them replaced lol
@@Kalani_938 I only know cuz I have a 2022 Husqvarna 450fc which I'll tell you that's not a trail bike you wanna go with 😂 it just wants to destroy
Great bike 👍MX tires would do the trick
Where’s the KLX lol
Lol I traded it in and brought home the KTM 500. Great bike, but I wanted something lighter and more powerful. My motocross days spoiled me lol
@@Kalani_938 I understand that. I’m too broke for the KTM but I figured I’ll pick up a KLX for the meantime till I can afford the KTM.
