Nice exhaust sound. Doesn’t sound like lawn mower anymore. I live in Wyoming and have plenty of county dirt and BLM two track and Forest Service roads. I have a larger BMW F850 GS ADV bike, but been considering a smaller bike as well for some of the more restricted FS roads. This Kaw KLX 300 and the Honda CRF 300L are primary candidates.
I have the same bike with the same model Delkevic except mine isn't the AF model. I have the TST tidy tail as well. Very pleased with the bike overall. Thanks for the review and sharing the KDX snorkel part number in the chat. I want to do the air box mod and get the EJK tuner too and I think I;ll be good to go. Its an addictive bike for sure!
Great video. I'm 43 and my first bike was a yz80 second was a rm 80 .I raced a few times but never could get a bigger bike. Was wanting to do enduro with some friends and wanted the kdx200 but never got it and life happened. That was in the 90s.been looking to get something and this bike is about the closest I can find to the old 90s kdx200

How did you make the rear fender clean? I have the same TST rear fender delete installed, but I don’t know. How did you change the rear fender because I don’t want the pouch either and I don’t know how to get rid of the screw holes
I thought it helped it run smoother, but no noticeable increase in power. I was pretty disappointed if I’m being honest. I ended up selling this bike and buying a KTM 500. I just wanted more power and the KLX300 couldn’t offer me that in the end no matter how many mods I did to it. Still loved the bike though.
@@Kalani_938 Thanks for the reply and sharing your experience/thoughts. I have a WR250R that I've been running around for the last 7 years and while I love the bike, I'm outgrowing it. I've been skittish with the KTM due to the valve service intervals. However, all my buddies love their KTMs.
@@MetaLexxer man, please don’t get caught up in all the maintenance/valve adjustment mumbo jumbo lol. My bike has 3,500 miles on it. I’ve checked the valves ONCE and that was at about 3,000 miles and they were great. Literally all I’ve done other than that is change the oil every 700ish miles. I’m not riding it to extremes so I’m not going by their intervals and the bike is awesome. I have a few other videos sharing my thoughts and mods to my KTM. Go give them a watch and lmk what you think.
Yes I wanted my bars higher bc it feels more natural to me and it’s easier when I stand up. My buddy gave me the headlight. I think he got it off Amazon in a pair.

@@Kalani_938 Dumb question but the older KLX cable was longer? By how much? I have heard other KLX owners say they had to use a Klr650 clutch cable. I have new bars to install and need the higher like yours but I am not super mechanical so a bit nervous about the install esp the throttle tube and clutch cable bit.

Yes the pipe definitely helped with low end. I also installed a kdx snorkel that helped as well. 13T sprocket helped as well. I plan on getting a tuner sooner than later to finish it all up. Thanks for watching!
Can you tell me what you looked up on Amazon in regards to the mirrors and the extension piece to go past your shoulders. I'm 2 weeks into owning this bike so I have a lot to learn yet
How are you able to keep you external rear turn signals with the TST fender eliminator? I’ve thought about buying the TST kit but I don’t want to get rid of the external turn signals and only have the integrated turn signals in the tail light.
I am just curious, what is your top speed on pavement with the 13t front sprocket? Main reason I ask is I have a 2022 on order (the wait is killing me!!) and I need to do a fair share of 75mph/80mph highway time before I hit the dirt in my area...
Even with stock gearing you’re going to struggle to hit 80. It can do 75, but the bike is buzzing pretty badly by that point. These 300’s seem to like around 65ish mph.
hah. got the same exhaust, an I asked them to swap out the SM model mirrors an they did, no charge. big difference in cool factor. did u just happen to get the SM mirrors by chance?, or swapped them out like me?. LOV LOV this bike offroad so good, so fun, so torquey.

I never understood why people who consider themselves to love and enjoy being in nature, don’t mind helping destroy it because it caused them to lose 1/2 an hp. Is it a sense of selfishness?
If you’re referring to the spark arrestor it’s definitely not just half a hp. The bike ran like crap with it in. Bogged down and just didn’t run right. I’ve got the spark arrestor installed on my new KTM 500 Graves exhaust. It doesn’t negatively effect how it performs.

A lot of farm boys that love hunting and being in the wild, also live rolling coal and making a mess for no personal gain besides “looking cool” in front of their friends

nah, the very end of pipes not hot enough. an note: those are smaller thinner aftermarket signals.

You can find a quieter one I’m sure. The bike runs and sounds like crap with the stock muffler on it. That I do know.

It pops every now and then, but not bad after it warms up. I plan on getting a dyno jet soon to remedy that.

Just looked up universal motorcycle mirrors and universal motorcycle mirror extensions.

Sounds better than stock. Most people swap out the footpegs. You didn't find the pegs to narrow?
The pegs haven’t bothered me. I’ll eventually change them out lol

You got to take the snorkel of the airbox it’ll give it more air that’s what I did to mine and it runs much better
I took the stock snorkel out and it ran like crap. Bogged down really bad on take off so I bought a kdx snorkel and it runs way better now.
