    I was never a KTM owner, but I love my 2022 500.
These bikes just work and keep working.
    Great video, thanks mate.

Have you ever had a problem with the starter and miss a kick start? I’m debating whether I should look for an older model that has both. Thanks!

Great review! I agree, these late model KTMs and Huskys are fantastic bikes. The only thing I don't like about my 2018 FE450 is that it vibrates like crazy through the footpegs. Did you do anything to damp vibrations on your bike?

@@pierrekawa76 Get a new dealer. Even the old 525 or 520 went 400 hours to rebuild.
The newer ones last longer. Ive had 2 stroke KTM's go 200 hours on a piston.

I am thinking about gettin a KTM 500 EXC-F. So what oil and valve check intervals did you adopt? I know real world owners, are getting 2K to 3K miles between oil change and some even go without valve check unless bike is behaving abnormal.

@@greatfallskam I change the oil every 15 to 30 hours. Depending on the type of riding I do. Change the air filter very often, sometimes after every dusty ride. I have always used Motoex oil. Check the valves every winter

That’s some good miles for original engine / piston!
I’m currently on a 2013 Husaberg te300 2stroke (blue ktm 😂) & fancy swapping out to a 4 stroke so I can do a little more road long distance work.
These 500f’s seem a lot less highly strung than some of the 450’s etc.
How often are you doing oil & filter changes & valve clearances etc?

@@juggsnotthuggs8623 oil change between 15 and 30 hour’s depending on the type of riding. Valve check every winter. Always have used Motorex oil. I change the air filter religiously (I think this is the most important factor in long life). I also rarely power wash the bike. My opinion is people power wash their bikes way to much and causes electrical and bearing problems for no reason….it’s a dirt bike with a license plate, it’s supposed to be dirty!!!!

When they get these things to the point where 40,000 miles is no problem and not worth crowing about? They will have something, although most never ride em all that far.
      These are very expensive bikes.
When they build a bike for Baja? They mostly all use 450's. They last better when built up.

Hi Keith. It's a fastway stand. They are expensive but they are strong and they work. Had 1 on a CR500 and 500exc. The exc 1 was a bit long especially doing trips loaded with gear and bladders for Simmo etc. We cut 3" pucks out of bread board for sand and keep a few in the tank bag.
