Many thanks for taking the time to share. This is very kind of you. This happens for my Explorer 2015. I just searched google for "Entertainment off"not even writing "Ford"and I got your helpful video. I followed your steps (disconnected the negative for 5min and it works.. We do not have 911 service here.). Thanks
@@haroldg556 thx for your help. Do you know why this happens? We just got the car...this is the first time, I'm worried I'll need to do this regularly.
That's unfortunate. Perhaps try once more, leaving the negative cable off for a longer period of time. I hate to think what they'd charge for a new head unit.
im having a pretty similar problem as others might and my research shows i need my apim replaced or reprogrammed if this doesn't solve your problem along with the fuses before disconnecting your battery its probably your apim as well goodluck to all!
I'm not familiar with the location of the Escape's battery. However, if you TH-cam how to remove the battery, it may offer some insight on how to access it and get to the cables.
At the very end of that video, I show you the battery under the hood. The negative cable, (black cable), needs to be disconnected from the battery for 30 minutes. Then simply reconnect the cable after waiting the aforementioned time.

Unfortunately, I don't know why it happens. It only happened once to our vehicle. Hope yours is a "one and done" as well!
Thank you so much, it worked for me as well on my 2014 F150. I did wait the 30 mins just to be safe.
Happy to hear that Rob!

Thanks!!!
This just happened to my 2014 Edge. Hopefully this simple fix will help
It will likely fix your issue. I've not had the issue happen a second time.
@@haroldg556 Sweet - worked like a charm, ten thumbs up for you 😀
Happy to hear that it fixed your issue!
What tool do I need to buy to disconnect the battery?
Should be a 10mm. You can use a wrench or a socket.

Glad I helped you out!
Having this problem with my Escape. My negative terminal is just about under the dash.

Fuse 29 keep blowing on mine
Mine did the same thing and it said my gps isn’t working. I hope this works
It worked for me and I only had to do it once. Good luck!
Thos did not work on my 2012 Explorer. I left the both battery Terminals unplugged for 15 minutes
Sorry to hear that! Hope you're able to find a low cost fix
Did you find out after 7 years ?
Wait what exactly did you do ? This error is currently happening to me this morning 🙁

I was stressed out with no radio in my 2013 ford escape but this video did it..
Nice the ole turn it off and on again appreciate
Was this just a temporary fix ?
It was not a temporary fix. I've performed it only one time and the issue hasn't happened again.
@@haroldg556 thank you! I’ve been having this issue for months now and haven’t been able to find a solution without going to the dealership.
You're welcome! Hope it fixes your issue too!
Didn't work for me.
I waited 10 min it didnt work
You can try 30 minutes, but it's possible it may not fix your issue.
