A code upgrade resolved this problem. The dealership called me in once the update was available and it fixed the problem.

If you hold the right seek button and the power button at the same time it will do a reset after the screen goes blank

Mine turned off after running the radio while washing the vehicle and doing an update.
During this time the battery went to a certain level causing the problem. The battery monitor turns the radio off to save energy to start the vehicle.
Drive or let the car sit running until the battery returns to full level and the radio returns on its’ own.

I'm with Anthony...what's the solution? I love my Edge o ly problem is the damn sync radio and display. Tho I do think I may have other electrical issues but nothing else like the radio and screen being useless until it chooses to come on again. Sometimes my dash with flicker on or its switched to blowing out air instead of just fan or heat. I can live with that. But no radio or reverse camera is really an ass kicker. Any updates on this issues being resolved? I dont want to have to sell it but seems to be a very common HUGE issue 😞

Yea turns out you have to replace it and places will charge you about 300 or over to fix it. It’s fairly easy fast and cheap to do your self if you TH-cam it. cost me about 140 with tools and parts

Hi Guys, Lou here... I have question, gotta 2011 Ford Explorer Sony System. My screen went started going blank a year ago and every once in a while it would kick back on it's own. All would work fine for about a week and then it would fail again. It would go weeks sometimes months and than out the blue it would work again. When it fails nothing works, I get "No Audio" on the dash board. When I pull the fuse or the battery cord I get audio for about 1 minute and then it goes back to "No Audio" however i get no display. My question is how do I know if its the display that has gone bad or could it be something else? I know this sound odd but I notice in really cold temperatures the display seems to kick on. When it comes on everything works fine...????Any thoughts or recommendations? Is it the APIM thats gone bad? I don't want to spend $500 on a APIM and that not be it. Is tit possible to keep the radio working without the display? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

My sync keeps freezing up in my 15 sport. Dealer can't reproduce the problem go figure.

I had the same problems with my 2013 ford edge sport and thought i bought a lemon. Bought a 2014 ford edge sport and it was even worse. Was in the shop 13+ times for computer related problems in the 1st year. In the first month of ownership car was completely dead. Had to be towed. Had to replace the computer. Car ran great, however the car would default back to the blue colors constantly which meant there was a computer problem. Sync malfunction, heater malfunction, stereo malfunction, start malfunction, voice and phone malfuctions. Had issues with all of it. The car did not recognize my fob at a stop while traveling and locked me out of the car in 12 degree weather. I also had problems with the panoramic sunroof. Had the 13 replaced and the 14 slowed to creeping while closing and eventually had to pull it to close. It was unfortunate. I loved both the cars driving performance. The car was comfortable and sporty. It was a very pretty car. I should have stopped with the first Edge. The cost and losses were terrible. I only wish Ford would have dealt with the software issues and chosen a different system once they knew there was such a huge problem with it. Once my Edge received a clean bill of health, I sold it and bought a Lexus. I hope your problems get figured out.

Lotto Scratcher yeah same... dealer couldn't reproduce the problem and said they'd never seen this issue before.😣 they did however take it back and gave us a brand new sport in white... needless to say, the new sport has the exact same problems and all the front sensors are acting up too... when normal I can get within a foot or two of an object before they beep. Other times in bumper to bumper traffic they'll let out a steady beep even when the car in front of me is 10+ feet away. Also when parked, the horn will honk two times and the rear hatch will open on its own. I though I had accidentally pushed the button on the fob but the fob was in the drink holder and I hadn't touched it.

VADER Wow that sucks man. I kept taking it in and kept getting the "it's normal" bullshit so I gave up. The explorer forum Ford Service reps are useless too. The last visit I had it in for a bad shake you can feel in the seat idling after starting it cold. You couldn't drive it for a few mins it would buck so bad it felt like it was going to break something. They can't reproduce the problem but it does it every time you start it. The service advisor told me it's a Ford not a Rolls Royce. He wins lol. Junk!

The problem with SYNC is that the OS is made by Microsoft!!! As most or some of us know that Windows security is like "Swiss Cheese" or "Spaghetti Strainers", if only SYNC was made by Apple it would be much more stabled and secure!

Too much electronics equals too many problems.
One is just better off with a Bluetooth FM Transmitter or even an aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth.

First mistake was turning it off while it was resetting most likely turned it off while it was reinstalling its software which would explain it not turning on again patience next time

I actually read somewhere that you are supposed to shut the car off, open the door and close it then restart.

That's why you see more Japanese cars on the road that American cars

    • @Hi-Tech-Ray
      @Hi-Tech-Ray 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Isn't that sad, american car makers can't even make a decent running car SMDH and the Japanese make the money not the USA! Its not always the case with Japanese cars, my 2004 Pathfinder needed a new transmission at 20K Miles, thankfully it was still under warranty at the time!
