Man, it's funny. As a kid, i hated Payton Manning with every fiber of my being. But as an adult sitting in that stadium yesterday, all i could do was cheer for the man as he walked out. Brady vs Manning was my Bird vs Magic. In a way Manning was just a much a part of my childhood as Tom was. I will never forget the goosebumps I'd get when the clock hit 0 on the game before the Colts game, and I knew the next 7 days, it was officially Colts week. It just felt bigger. It was like the appetizer before the playoffs started. He was a worthy rival. You cant tell the story of this run without him
Couldn't have said it better. I feared him, I respected him, wanted to hate him but in the end what a story and what a great competitive friendship to have witnessed.
Echo that 100%
I find as I’ve gotten older, with most sports, I just want a good game. I love the Pats, but over the years, I really look forward to other games on the weekly schedule too. Peyton was special.
I still hate him. But like that hrs doing this for Tom
I think it goes both ways really
During the Peyton years (Colts) the Texans only have 2 wins against him & none are in Indy.. not even in 2011 when he was on the sideline from neck fusion surgery.. Great QB, but a pain in the 🫏 if you're playing against him
"Up here, with these two guys, 7 super bowl wins..." Uh, Mike. That would be 9. Brady alone has 7.
True brain fog
Yea
I heard those numbers and was like, wow, those are crazy stats wait, 7 superbowls sounds really low. These guys have appeared in 14 superbowls. From 2002 to 2021, they appeared in 70% of all those superbowls.
@@wolverine3605that’s insane
Imagine a human being making a mistake
Damn. Respect to that crowd to cheer Peyton when he was introduced
As a Brady Fan I hated Manning and then he came to Broncos, now I love that man. Thanks for winning us a SB
Peyton Manning is such a class act , just showing up in person to celebrate Tom shows how much respect they have for each other and how much they value their friendship. Great to see !!!
Tom went to Peytons Hall induction...they are close friends
@@charleskandrut7022yes! They are great friends and have so much respect for each other
Wants to stay relevant!!!😂😂😂
What folks forget or don’t know about is that every time Peyton would renew his contract he always made sure he made $1 less than Brady. Peyton always looked at Brady as the standard
As a Broncos fan, I used to despise Tom Brady. We would meet him in competition during the regular season and invariably in the off-season. The number of Brady jerseys I saw people wearing drove me nuts. Add in the tuck rule. Deflate gate. Spy gate. I had nothing but animosity for Brady and Bellichick for ages . But then the 28-3 comeback against the Falcons... I had to give some props to the guy for that accomplishment. And then the Broncos barely beat the Patriots 20-18 in the AFC Championship in the waning seconds, and how Brady orchestrated the offense, I had to give the guy kudos for making such a LEGENDARY battle. Now to see Peyton on stage with such respect and friendship and say nothing but admiration and honor for each other's game... This is tear worthy. In my 40s I have gone from hatred to great respect for TB12. Congratulations.
"I am a lot more popular here than Eli" 😂
This reminds me so much of Bird and Magic. Fierce rivals that became great friends. Having been an avid football fan since the late 70s, I honestly believe that the 2000s is probably the best decade of football ever. You had everything some of the best QBs ever, there were great RBs which has been very devaluted, Linebackers which is another postiton that seems to be going away, the WRs, You had these two. I am so fond of that decade of footballl.
Two of the Greats! Respect to Peyton for showing up, what a class act!!!
"They liek me here because I always lost here, much more popular than Eli! here" subtle burn! nice one! The Brady / Manning brothers rivalry was one for the ages
The mutual respect these two men have for each other is absolutely awesome!
Manning is really good at these types of things. He has seized that whole self-deprecating humor thing on a Shatner level too. It was big of him to say Tom mostly got the best of him--from '06 to '15, it actually evened-out quite a bit.
Yeah it did even out. Peyton actually had a winning record against Brady in the playoffs 3-2
We need brady and manning on Monday night or Sunday night 😮
Brady joins the manning cast every now and then and bill is gonna be on there the 1st quarter of every game they do next year
Bro imagine it will be like having Madden and Pat Summerall back
With Pat McAfee as the sideline reporter
It’s great seeing the respect, class, and friendship between rivals.
It's 9 super bowl rings buddy
Exactly lol
Yeah but he gave them some extra td passes 13000 lol.
Lol......Peyton looked left out on his (2) ...and ...just shook it off..😅...!?
I’m wondering if they are only counting the ones Tom won in New England.
@@lisacecil449 I believe we all heard what Tirico said...."These two greats have a combined (7) SB rings.....*7+2*....!!
.
Two best QBs in our lifetime
That might be aaron rogers
@@tims1552😂 bullshit
Facts
For now in 5 years it’s gonna be Brady and mahomeboy
No question about that!!!
“It was very personal, really appreciated that” 🤣🤣
Man I miss those days they were pure magic
I miss so much such an epic games between them, both are great athletes but above all great human beings!
Tommy says 'You gotta be fuckin kidding me' as soon as they hug. Imma cry
I was wondering if anyone else heard that.
he thought the roast of tom brady was last month! then this guy shows up to his retirement party 😂😂
00:28
I miss the epic games between these two. This was the definition of a rivalry, and I love how much they respect each other
3:42 Peyton with that SNL comedic delivery. Humility at its finest.
I died laughing when Payton introduced Brady during the roast. "3x Super Bowl loser"
Peyton is bloody Hillarious 🤣
Great moment between two legends Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. 👏👏👏👏
Great story about them working out together. Gave those HS kids something to remember forever.
"A hand in foxboro for Peyton Manning. " Hearing that blows my mind
That group of highschool recievers still probably tell that story til this day,
and nobody probably believes them.
😂😂😂
no no b no no no j 😮 in by b😂😮😢
i’m
Man they probably got signed balls, helmets and cleats too. What an experience to have to keep secret. The 2 GOATs of QB throwing you the ball and you’ve sworn to say nothing 😂😂
Just makes you appreciate the all time greats while they're around
Greatest QB rivalry of all time.
Two absolute icons! It's always great to see two players that have genuine respect for each other
I’m a life long Steelers fan and I hated these guys when they played. But I really appreciate their careers and I always looked forward to when they played each other.
Same here. They were a thorn in the Steelers side for almost 20 years and it didn't help that they cheated. But I always admired Brady. How couldn't you be?
Peyton Manning And Tom Brady Will Always Be The Greatest Quarterbacks Of All Time🐐
Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady was the best QB rivalry in the NFL while they were both playing. There hasn't been another one since, and probably won't be.
Brady & manning goat’s 😢
GOATS wear Rings.
THE GOAT wears the most.
This is pretty cool to see Peyton show up here and them to share stories. We were pretty blessed to see these two legends battle it out time and again.
It was so entertaining to watch these two play. Like Brady said the mental game these two had alone puts them in the HoF regardless of their accomplishments
That 2009 story is absolutly epic!
Peyton is such a good story teller, love it 🤣
@@timwhite8685 100% 😂
This is so great. My favorite, all these years, P. Manning honoring Brady. So great!
Bird-Magic and Brady-Manning.
We were lucky to be a part of that as Boston fans.
I'm not going to lie - I never been a Brady fan. I always felt that he was a product of the system type QB under Coach Belichick. However, when Brandy went down to Tampa and got yet another Super Bowl Ring. I realized I know nothing about football. Then listening to his interviews how he is around his kids and teammates true humble beginnings just grateful to part of the sport and a genuine character. I learned to respect greatness.
As a Pats fan, Peyton gave me so much anxiety as a kid whenever the Patriots played the Colts. I don't think I ever hated Peyton, but man seeing the Colts on the schedule was like "Damn, not a comfortable win for the Pats", lol.
not even always a win
Whenever Peyton came into town it was a nail biter.
We knew it was going to be a war.
They brought out the best in each other.
That's why there is so much respect.
3-2 in head to head title games.
The two best to ever done it. In my opnion.
Probably the best 2 QB's in my lifetime.
If you look at the hand shake they had at the end you will see all the respect they have for each other
It’s great to see these guys but sad at the same time we’ll never see them play again 😔
Man I would love to see Tom and Peyton in the booth together. That would be EPIC!!!!
Die Hard Colts fan and this is a really good interview❤❤
We are so blessing to be able to watch two of the greatest to have play against each other. Many great memories and games . Thank you guys.
Brady vs Manning… the best quarterbacks I got to watch when I first got into football. It’s been awesome to see them flourish as human beings off the field too. Just good people, easy to root for, and we’re all so lucky to see them on our TVs next fall.
We were so lucky to watch these two legendary QBs battle for so long. Man oh man do I miss those glory days.
I love these two. The respect and admiration they have for each other is inspiring and peyton is the greatest ambassador for football. Their relationship is Magic/ Bird level two competitive rivals who actually needed each other and changed the game and in their retirement their friendship is palpable
Its a new chapter in life for these guys. Same for us who grew up watching them. Football is harder to watch without ya Tom!
Manning and Brady it doesn’t get any better than that.
Tom and Peyton need to be commentating games with each other
Colts vs pats some of the best match ups ! Literally some of the best quarterback play !
Yeah man there were some brutal Indi NE games. I love their respect for each other now.
The Manning brothers tortured us Patriots fans for years they got 4 super bowls we should’ve won
y'all got 6 stop crying
You at 🤫
And we should've won more. Stop crying. @@Thegod_of_memes
@@VodkaUSMC Nah 6 was plenty
I know really but glad brady got one of those super bowl screw ups back at tampa for his 7th. Specially against the chiefs reed and mahommee that one really set and end the debate. @@Thegod_of_memes
It’s just so crazy that we got to watch the greatest qb of all time face off against arguably the second greatest qb of all time for 15 years. It was Jordan vs LeBraun every year, most of the time twice a year. And it was magical. ❤
Peyton 3-1 against Brady in the AFC Championship games
Two of the top 5 Qbs ever
1&2
Brady Vs Manning was such a treat to watch all those years. Thank you both.
The Sheriff and the goat !! Dont get no better then this .
Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis Pacers Die Hard fan😊 and we literally hated Tom Brady and Michael Jordan about the same time we all love them and we watched every second of their games even if we weren't playing them we knew that Tom Brady and Michael Jordan's Bulls we're going to be amazing it was just wow watching that kid come in and just bang it out man I mean you couldn't ask for anything better that's a storybook and I'll tell you just listening to Peyton Manning and and Brady back and forth they just just such respect for each other as competitors that's the way it should be lifting each other up through competition instead of tearing each other down through bad fouls and just because you're a certain color you know weird how Sports have changed and we love you Caitlin Clark❤
Those were great years watching those two no BS superstar quarterbacks going head to head!
I was absolutely blessed to group up in Indianapolis as a child and teenager during Peyton's reign.
Peyton is hilarious. Love the rivalry turned friendship between these too, and the mutual admiration. Reminds me of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.
Those 2 guys put on the greatest show every Sunday.
Watching this as a Bears fan and cant get enough. Thats NFL history right there.
🤣🤣 you can hear Brady say after the hug in the beginning…”you gotta be fucking kidding me”
Definitely was a surprise guest!
One of the best rivalries in NFL history!
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are the 2 best QBs to ever play. I'm so happy I got to grow up watching them, the Brady v. Manning promos they always did for their games always got me so hyped up. NFL Sundays don't feel the same without seeing these guys on the field.
Two of the Quarterback Titans in their prime!
God, so many memories watching these dude go at it 🥹🏈
Two of the greatest of their time .... simply amazing
Awwww...very sweet!! Buddies!! 😊
I used to love to hate Payton in his playing years... but how much I love him after his playing days... and respect him more and more for what he achieved in college/pro football.
Always so gracious and funny. Legend. Peyton.
Beyond grateful to have seen these two play through their career.
Peyton seems like such a cool guy. I wish I had started watching football in the early 2000s to see some of the amazing stuff he did, as well as Tom developing into an unstoppable weapon. I do have to say though that I do enjoy watching the productions that Peyton is involved with here in the last several years outside of his football career. I think he’s doing a great job with films and production stuff and he just seems like an all around great guy.
It's like Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Meeting your sports rival is probably gonna be one of your best friends
Watching these two compete was a blast.
Greatness appreciating greatness 🔥🙌🏾
9 rings!! Not 7??😂
Manning still my GOAT
THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED. #ManningBrady2028
20 years ago if you had told me Payton Manning would come out to the crowd in Foxborough cheering for him I never would've believed you.
Pats fan here. When Peyton said that Tom flying in was against the salary cap, I fn lost it!
🤣🤣🤣
Goddammit, we were so spoiled to watch Manning v. Brady for almost 15 years. Two GOATs making each other better, and no matter which team won, it was going to be a classic.
The greatest football rivalry of my lifetime. I love hoe humble they both are when talking about each other. Brady from thr outside appears to have had all the success, but he is right when he said they were driven by their defense early on and i have no doubt he looked up to Peyton. And even though Peyton was honest when he said that more often than not it was Tom on the winning end, which is true. People forget thar head to head in the post season, Peyton was actually better with a 5-3 record vs Tom. To simplify this, it's the 2 best QBs of their Era. Period.
Tom Brady The Champ The Man The Legend Oh Hell Yeah
I felt that look on Peytons face at 2:19. "7 superbowl wins between these two" 😅
Love this stuff ❤
Loved that Rivalry! Great Games for years! :)
SOLID GOLD
Yessir
We need these two on a Podcast or something together! It be hysterical 🤣😂
I've disliked Manning for years, mainly because I'm a Brady fan. Quiet frankly, I hated him for no real reason. However, over time, I've come to appreciate and admire his brilliant play. When I lived in Wyoming, I was the lone Patriots fan amidst a sea of passionate Pats haters. i also briefly lived in Denver when Manning won a chip. The 20-18 game still stings, but it was an incredible match. The Broncos were fearless and relentless. Brady was abused and showed how tough he is.
Now in my mid-40s, I recognize that we'll likely never witness such a rivalry again. I rank Manning solidly as the #2 quarterback of all time, and I have no issue with people considering him the best. He truly was that great. I'll miss them. Football is not the same without brady and manning.
As a browns fan that’s exactly how feel about Peyton..he may not have the rings but him and Michael are two men who revolutionized the QB position
Unnoticed legendary dig. Peyton says, "Well you all should like me here a lot more than Eli."
Winston Wolf..
...you know the quote.
Man, one more season. Im having so much fun. Plus, it would be funny to see Nick wrights face.
Respect.
Between the 2 guys they have been in 14 Superbowls. Wow that's great
Brady vs Manning was kinda like the 80's .. Bird vs Magic!
