      All the plumbing is under the deck, the walkway inbound, outbound. It gets pumped to the islands treatment plant, treated, and then gets pumped out to sea. Electricity is all solar. Parking space is on the islands and you get your wifi from the islands. Most of the owners have boats to go back and fourth. They also have boats on call to pick up and drop off like an uber.

    • @MRTOMBO

      @@nathane2243 Thank you. I am disappointed with the "pumping out to sea" of ANYTHING Man claims is now treated as safe. Not being snarky, just my opinion. Would have been nice if they invested as much in a septic tank / treatment facility located landside somewhere, instead of the pretty window dressing out front, and then just "pump it out to sea".

Nearly all of them have yachts and houseboats like this parked at the back of their houses on the canals.

    I used to be in a specialty industry for unique construction projects for years, and I cringed when I saw that the access doors to the escape hatch were open out, a thing that can be a little hard to do with water rushing in. • @kiriyomase6209

    • @kevoric
      @kevoric ปีที่แล้ว +49

      @@kiriyomase6209 The hatch does open out, which would be unforgivable if it opened in. The problem is the doors to the hatch room pull open into the main bedroom rather than pushing into the hatch room.
      As you correctly outlined, if water was rushing in, there is a chance that the pressure will be too much to pull open the doors to the hatch room itself, making the hatch at the top of the ladder completely useless since you would be unable to get into the hatch room.
      Pushing the doors into the hatch room from the main bedroom should be how it works.

    Imagine a storm rocking up, sending waves upon waves toward and against your abode, sending your home spiraling toward jiggered rocks that pierces your walls and glass, water filling up your home while you're in your bedroom trying to get out.

    When I saw a bedroom at 7:44, my first guess was this is a movie theater. Such an amazing picture in movie about nature, sea or something like that. I was overwhelmed when I realised it was a real picture of ocean itself. Having opportunity to see these kinds of views first-hand is something mind-boggling.

      They should really design movie theatres in mansions like that though where the whole wall is the screen and it's curved

    what a gorgeous .. dream house it is.. one demerit of this sort of water house is the humidity.. especially in the summer season.. and the other (I just remembered..) it may be terribly wavering on the rolling waves that could lead to serious nausea and vertigo..

    The structure has to displace the same amount of water as it weighs or it would float back up obviously. 400 tons seems a bit light considering the amount of space there is downstairs so I think they also use anchors affixed to the bottom for extra stability.
