    I wonder how it would taste if you blended the lemon filling with room temperature cream cheese. I'll just have to try this both ways! ❤

    I will try this, but I will whip the cream cheese & use a lemon cake mix. I bet it will be delicious served warm with a scoop of ice cream.

    Really good video. Looks great!! I was wondering if maybe a person could whip the cream cheese just a little then sort of swirl it into the lemon filling. Not mix it. But swirl it threw out. That sure does look delicious!!!!!!

      I’m sure you could!! You’d definitely have to let it soften at room temp for a bit before trying it but I’m sure it would come out great!

    If you freeze the butter you could grate it and get real even coverage

    I made my first dump cake a few days ago. I have watched several videos about dump cakes . When they use cream cheese, they say to use whipped cream cheese. Maybe it melts better.

    You could do the same with cherry pie filling and end up with the cherry cheese Danish. For that matter, drained crushed pineapple & cream cheese might also work. I thought about the grater with the butter. However, make sure the butter is frozen if you use the grater. 😊😋

      @RyanPerlmanCooks I've been thinking about the cream cheese. Perhaps if it was softer and whipped to a more spreadable consistency, it might work better. Gee, I think I'll try it in the morning. 😀

      @@vickiephilpitt7697 I’ve had a few comments mentioning to use whipped cream cheese and whisk it together with an egg and then pour it on top! I haven’t had a chance to try it yet but that’s going to be what I try next time

    Do you think softening the cheese first would help? I made a cherry cream cheese dump cake b4 and the same thing happened.

      Someone else commented and said they used whipped cream cheese and mixed it with an egg first. I haven’t tried this yet but I think it would help! I’m going to be making a new dump cake each week so the next time I make one with cream cheese i’m going to try it! Thanks for watching ☺️

    If you like lemon/lime desserts look up the recipe for "Corn Flakes lemon freeze" (It's from 1969 I think) 😋 I make it with limes instead of lemons. You'll LOVE it 😊😊😊😊

    You should mix your cream cheese with an egg. It will melt and mix better.

      @@RyanPerlmanCooks A medium size whole egg, should do it, with 8 oz cream cheese. While we are at it, maybe put some store bought lemon curd, with your filing. I happen to love lemon! Let us know it turns out?

      @@Tobywedinikki It's a small amount. Room temp cream cheese ,and same for egg. You should be able to mix together.
      However if you double the cake then 2 8oz cheese with eggs you could use a hand mixer. Happy Baking!!!

      40-45 minutes should be good at 350F!

    It would probably taste much better after being chilled in the fridge, and it should be stored in the fridge due to the cream cheese.

      Yes! I tried mine both cold and reheated. I actually preferred it reheated. But it was honestly REALLY good both ways

    U dont suck at baking..u just need practice!!!
    My first yeast bread was literally a rock...i started baking in about 3 or 4th grade..MY MOM COULD NOT COOK...IMAGINE IF YOUR BEST DISH WAS FRIED LIVER AND ONIONS...LOL..ITS MY.COMFORT FOOD...ANYWAY..im pushing 80..only thing left for me that i want to make is a souffle. Savory one and sweet...i IMAGINE it will take me about 10 goes to get it right...I BEST GET IN THAT GOAL.
    JUST KEEP TRYING...TO THIS DAY MY SOURDOUGH...WHILE GOOD CAN IMPROVE..AND I TRY ABOUT 2 TIMES A WEEK..I WILL SAY I AM NOW ON A SOURDOUGH DRIED CHERRY KICK AND EAT ABOUT A LOAF A DAY IF I COULD.
    I THINK WHAT I LOVE ABOUT MODERN BAKING IS READY MADE PIE CRUSTS..BUT U DONT JUST UNWRAP AND USE.
    PEOPLE RAVE AT MY CHERRY PIES...HERE IS MY FAST AND EASY RECIPE.
    ONE CAN CHERRY FILLING...THREE CANS CHERRY ONLY DRAINED...ALMOND FLOVOEING ABOUT A CAP FULL . ALITTLE OVER WONT HURT...FEW SHAKES OF SALT..ABOUT HALF CUP SUGAR...NOT REALLY.NEEDED BUT I DO IT ANYWAY...AND THOSE WONDERFUL PIE CRUSTS.
    I HATED DOING PIE CRUSTS SO MUCH I WOULD DO ABOUT 12 AT A TIME AND FREEZE THEM..I USED THE BUTTERMILK METHOD..BEST AND EASIEST OUT THERE..BUT I DO LOVE THE READY MADE NOW...
    AND WHEN U MAKE A PIE CRUST AND A TOP LAYER COVERING..ALWAYS WAYS ALWAYS SWIPE WITH EGG WASH AND THEN USE SUGAR IN THE RAW...REALLY WOWS PEOPLE SOME HOW..SERIOSLY..PEOPLE THING YOUR A GENIUS IN THE KITCHEN...
    DO A VIDEO ON MEMES CHERRY PIE...AND SHARE THE JOY..

    That cake looks like was not completely cooked. On top I saw pieces of butter, inside pieces of cream cheese. NO,NO. Whipped cream cheese next time , or mix cream cheese with 1 egg, make it creamy , and then put it on top. But never in chunks. But thanks for the idea
