34:15 GTA IV cutscenes are written so damn beautifully. Pegorino can't decide how to get Niko to do this job, so he tries to persuade him in various ways. First he aggresses, then he orders, and then he begs. That's why I love this game, because it looks like a great movie.
I would love to see Pegerino talk that way to l Health Ledger's Joker.

And Niko naturally stood his ground and showed zero fear or intimidation of Jimmy "the Peg " "the Skipper " Pegorino and for damned good reason obviously. Niko became the Liberty City organized crime underworld's top and most preferred hired gun/professional assassin being a highly elite trained European/Balkan ex-Balkan War Combat special forces soldier and assassin-for-hire overseas in Europe. He wasn't sweating some pudgy greaseball guido wannabe wiseguy and dollar store dress up discount impostor Vito Corleone like Jimmy Pegorino. Pegorino was a joke to everyone of all the legit organized crime syndicate and Italian/Sicilian La Cosa Nostra Dons of Liberty City's underworld's organized crime commission. A fat fucking joke just as Niko told Pegorino to his face bleeding out before Niko emptied one final AK-47 automatic round into his skull. All those hitmen, bodyguards and henchmen were likely thrown in last minute by Rockstar for game play and a final climax boss chase/shootout scene between Niko and the disgraced, washed up, short tempered and violent, unpredictable but in truth laughing stock ridden Pegorino. Or hired professional mob assassins, low-level connected street thugs and wannabe wiseguy goons, and some bodyguards and henchmen from the small-time Pegorino "so called " crime Family. Pegorino couldn't even hit the right target in the Revenge Ending trying to shoot Niko in a retaliation drive-by shooting at Roman's wedding and accidentally killed Kate McCreary instead. Glad he got greased too.

Packie introducing Niko to Ray essentially wiped out the entire Pegorino crew. They didn't even get to go to prison they were murdered with the exception of Phil Bell. Niko really is the most lethal GTA Protagonist in terms of story.

Pegerino is a great character. When I first saw him, he came off like a big shot, the most legit gangster Niko had worked with thus far, so I took his word for face value. I didn’t understand why Niko didn’t really like him. But with the benefit of hindsight, on my 2nd play through, it was so obvious he was not a smart boss, and was bound to get pinched soon. Even his opening speech to Niko was full of red flags about how he manages his family.

As feared by only his own crew as Jimmy Pegorino was plus short tempered, paranoid and a violent, ruthless, sociopathic killer but he was a fucking joke. A fat fucking joke as Niko properly worded to his face as Pegorino bled out and died before Niko finished him with one final execution killshot to his wrinkled mug in the Revenge Ending. Only two real and legit wiseguys in the small-time, disorganized, and disgraced Pegorino crew (so called and self-proclaimed crime Family) were Ray Bochino, who was a selfish, greedy, corrupt and treacherous, backstabbing mobster plus a short fused, cold blooded killer, and Phil being an Irish gangster but yet still Pegorino broke Italian La Cosa Nostra tradition giving Phil, a non-italian hood, a button as a "made man" in Pegorino's crew and as high ranking consiligerie at that. Those two were even more gangster than their own boss.
I believe the hit squad guarding and protecting Pegorino against and from Niko in the Revenge Ending were all either low-level small-time connected street thugs and wannabe wiseguys, some being made button-men in the said Pegorino Family plus hired professional mafioso hitmen Pegorino likely sought, recruited and hired as protection and backup after his terribly amateur failed drive-by shooting assassination on Niko/accidental and unintentional execution of Kate. And Niko still wiped out Pegorino's entire hit squad, henchmen, bodyguards and wannabe Goodfellas street hoods. Yes, once the game progresses you see why the true gangsters and legit mob bosses of Liberty City didn't take this fat old washed up fuck seriously. Why imo Dimitri Rascalov, albeit a coward and a weak, sniveling weasel alone without his Russian mafia bodyguards and assassins or guns, was at least a true legitimate, dangerous, powerful Russian mob boss but underestimated Niko. Albeit hiding from Niko until the end of the game but sending his Russian Bratva hitmen after Niko repeatedly.
Having to wear a suit during the first meeting also added to the idea that Niko was about to meet a big shot Don, but no.

Pegorino was an impostor wannabe mafia Don and self-proclaimed boss and a wannabe wiseguy laughing stock. 🤣 Niko by himself single-handedly wiped out the whole Pegorino Crime Family. Funny how Nico's views changed on the different faction's as he moved through the criminal underworld . The pegorinos go from a semi competent group to a bunch of bumbling buffon's when you met the dying mafia don who Nico actually shows deep respect to.
Because Pegorino was a joke just like everyone said. Niko tells him this as well in the revenge ending before killing Pegorino. Pegorino was a wannabe Vito Corleone trying to swim in a pond full of sharks but the true mafioso Dons in the city saw him as nothing but a laughing stock.
Shit, Pegorino couldn't even shoot the right way. Accidentally killed Kate instead of Niko, his intended target, in the "Deal" ending. Although I consider the Revenge ending the canon and true ending. Niko would've never worked for or alongside that spineless snake Dimitri again.
@@castortroy7704 The "Deal" ending is the one where you pull through with the deal with Dimitri, as the name suggests, after which he screws over Niko anyways by trying to get him assassinated which ends up killing Roman in the struggle. The "Revenge" ending is the one where you kill Dimitri and have the Peg botch the assassination on Niko instead.

I don't know if it was just me, but first time i saw Jimmy, i thought he's a very cool and powerful boss of a very well known mafia family from LC, very respected and everything....but as story progresses, i realized that he was just a small time incompetent boss with too much of ego of some insignificant mafia family.

What's unfortunate is that Pegorino actually had no reason to kill Ray nor Phil, because it actually serves no purpose to "Pest Control". Both of them, despite their differences, have no reason nor have they actually spoken to the feds, as its later proven that really it was really Anthony who had a wire. Ray is a bit of a douche and extremely greedy, but he always keeps his promise and never fucks people over who haven't fucked him up first (Teddy Benevidez owes him too much money for too long, Luca stole his diamonds but even then he didn't even order his death, Niko killed him; Johnny stole his money so of course he'd capture Jim then Johnny and torture them until they say where the money is; Isaac threatens to have him killed + blames him for the diamond fuck-up) whilst Phil is an all-out nice guy, hell, he's absolutely and genuinely paranoid when it comes to feds so why would HE of all people talk to them?
Both Ray and Phil were great employees for Pegorino that had nothing to do with "talking to the feds" and it's a damn shame Ray had to die, if Pegorino was less paranoid and just couldn't decide, chances are he would have found out the true rat was Anthony. Or atleast I don't know, if the game had more time in the oven they could have added in a choice to let Ray know of Pegorino's true intentions and get him into hiding until Peg's like "oh shit! Anthony!" and Ray won't come back until after the ending where he's like "Hey, Nicky, thanks for taking Peg out. I never realized how rotten his mind really was".

I'll tell you one thing and I'm not afraid to say it. My estimation of James Pegorino as a man just f***ing plummeted.
This deserve a million views. Cinematic excellence. Shows how strong characters and narrative are in this game. The best in the series. This is why we play GTA IV. And not because of fancy car costumizations and fucking online, like in GTA V. I like that game, it has better gameplay and controls, but too but it lacks the focus narrative of this one and in the end you simply dont care about what you are doing in that game. Please, keep making this type of video.

Yes 5 was too satirical for me, Niko's stories of war...I was just awestruck by Hollick's performance. Even side characters in 4 had better thought out stories than the main characters in 5. I still know pretty much nothing about Franklin lol

Although I love the satire, themes, gameplay and other stuff in V, we really do gotta appreciate how well thought the story and the characters were in IV
hanging out and going through the story is really meaningful because you get to really know many of the characters, it keeps me hanging not to rush on the game because I really want it to sink in
I love especially how much you get to know about people like Roman and Kate after hanging out a lot with them, you end up understanding their actions and motivations and backstory
Well male characters are always strong, no matter in what game they are, can't say the same thing about female characters and I am a woman myself but what can you do? Female characters are always boring.

That has to be the most psychologically damaging death to an GTA antagonist. Devin Weston’s demise was the most humiliating while Dimtris demise in the revenge is the most painful. Pegerino was broken by the words already.

Revenge ending all things considered is definitely better than Deal. Not just because of the Kate/Roman situation, but I personally never liked Pegorino from the start. I always thought he was wishing rather than doing. Everything he tried to do never worked and he was too focused on becoming something too quickly because of his narrow mindedness. On top of that, getting to kill Dimitri and Jimmy P in one playthrough of the game is pretty sweet.

I never liked Kate so revenge ending is so satisfying.

Even If they make Pegorino a last time antagonist in the very near end, I like him like an antagonist better than Rascalov. Dimitri Rascalov is probably one of the most hated nemesis of the R* universe, but, I feel he lack's of something. His reasons to betray Niko in Russian Revolution make me feel Rascalov to be the typical traitor that has to be in the plot to give the player a motivation through the entire game, such as Big Smoke, Gary Smith, etc. Of course there is a secondary reason to set up Niko that is Bulgarin, but, really? Just that?.
He becomes just the main antagonist because the script needs you to stick to something during the whole game and someone who makes imposible the life to Niko by kidnapping and killing his cousin, and is great but, why? Why Is the real motive of Rascalov on being disloyal to everyone? Yeah, I suppose power and money but that was so damn tipycal and plane for a character.
In the other hand, we have Pegorino, a man who Niko first meet and he looks like a normal man and he could possibly be. But as we progress through his missions, we see his downfall and his desesperated tries to get into The Commission, making him untrust everyone who is around him and even killing them. In a last chance, he has one final opportunity to be accepted in The Commission, and is when Niko fucks everything up by killing Dimitri. Pegorino finally lost his mind and tries to kill Niko in an impulsive rage attack, failing realy bad and killing Kate instead. In the Liberty Island, Pegorino falls against Niko, and even he is an asshole, is an asshole i can understand because the game give me the enough time to know hi. And even I feel a bit bad for him in that last cutscene where Niko laughs of him before execute him. I liked Dimitri as an antagonist when I played the game for the first time, but replaying it, I think I see this game with a new perspective. Leoproso Lukewarm Perhaps GTA VI will give us a great antagonist, like an Officer Tenpenny with a good fight and death. Devin Weston was an Asshole and I can understand why he tried to kill Michael, but he died too easily, in my opinion.
Dimitri wanted Niko dead because Niko was the only one who knew that Dimitri ordered him to kill Faustin. If Dimitri's gang knew that, he'd be killed. I'm pretty sure Bulgarin was just the straw that broke the camels back.

Pegorinos impatience for everyone is hilarious
This game deserves a remaster. Here's what it needs if it ever gets remastered:
- the TLAD and TBoGT expansions should be included (obviously)
- TLAD should retain its grainy look and TBoGT should retain its bright and colorful look
- higher-resolution textures for characters, streets, vehicles, and buildings
- improved frame rate
- better reflections
- better shadows
- the same driving physics as the original game
- a weapon selection wheel
- a radio station selection wheel
- Johnny Klebitz should wear the same outfit in Niko's storyline as he does in TLAD
- it should be impossible for Niko to kill Luis Lopez during Three Leaf Clover
- mission checkpoints
- police cars spawned in Alderney should have Alderney State Troopers livery instead of LCPD livery
- police officers spawned in Alderney should appear different from their Liberty City counterparts
- friend characters should either stop calling you to hang out or do so less often
- the weapon aiming system should be as it is in the original game by default with the option to change it to that of GTA V
True I like this idea kinda hope they add more to the friends to hangout roster like they originally planned, plus few more extra features and hidden dialouge for the character's too.
I think Rockstar is slowly remastering their old games and maybe Red Dead 1 is next. They should definitely remaster GTA 4 tho.

Jimmy was calculated, and wanted to eliminate whoever posed a potential threat to him, to a fault. You can see that it's not coke or insecurity that drives him to make hasty decisions, that's just who he is, and I can't believe I didn't see that coming when he and Dimitri thought it best to kill Niko even after he'd let bygones be bygones.

I've always found Jimmy Pegorino a Semi-Tragic Character, I am not saying he was good, he got what he deserved in this ending. Yeah! He was an Idiot!
But he always wanted to join The Commission, so he did anything he could, but his started to defect or betray him, reducing his strength. At last his last time resort was to Deal with Dimitri, a person he he very well knew was the arch enemy of Niko. If Niko deals with him, Peg doesn't betray him or solds him out. He himself is betrayed by Dimitri. If Niko kills Dimitri, Peg gets enraged as he loses everything, I can't blame him if he tries to kill Niko. Unfortunately, He misses and shoots Kate instead. (I am not sure, how Niko could've felt if he was actually hit but managed to survive, I believe he would be very angry as well and will kill Peg eventually, but not to an extent in this ending) On top of that he lost his son and his adopted son betrays him, he has lost his mind in Paranoia. Again, Pegorino deserved what he got, but I can't help but to feel bad for him.

I honestly don't know why Niko was pissed at Pegorino in the deal version not as much as Dimitri but was still pissed at him even though it was Dimitris idea to send the hitman to Roman's wedding. I mean he could have been involved in it but I doubt it, I guess Niko probably thought he mightve been involved in it.

This is the best GTA. It's the only one where ALL the missions matter. GTA 5 has the better map and world but this story and gameplay is much better imo

Dimitri was a true spineless, cowardly, sniveling, treacherous, greedy, backstabbing rat and more so by himself alone without his Russian mafia hitmen, Russian Bratva (Rascalov Bratva, formerly the Faustin Bratva under Mikhail Faustin) affiliated bodyguards and henchmen and his guns behind him. But a ruthless, merciless, vicious, sociopathic, cold-blooded killer and a powerful, rich, highly connected Russian mob boss and gangster versus Jimmy Pegorino, who in truth was an old washed up, over the hill, late middle aged small-time Italian American mob boss and so called, self-proclaimed, self-entitled "Don" and boss of the small, weak, disorganized, insignificant Italian American crime Family, truthfully a glorified crew in reality. Pegorino was a fat fucking joke and a laughing stock to the real, true, legit, powerful Italian/Sicilian La Cosa Nostra families and rival bosses on the Liberty City underworld mafioso commission of Liberty City mafia crime Families, just as Niko tells him before finishing Pegorino off.
