7:40 I really like this detail. Michael is so afraid of Trevor that he conditioned himself to think he’s been dead for a long time. He doesn’t even bother to ask Lester if Trevor was still alive, he just interrogates him on how he died. GTA 5 gets a lot of flak in the community for a poor story/writing, especially compared to GTA 4/SA. Moments like these though go to show how the writing is still really thought out
I've always liked the GTA 5 story I think its looked on poorly now mostly because of what GTA 5 became with online. I myself would have loved some story dlc with these characters maybe even a whole expansion ala ballad of gay tony/lost and the damn focusing on each individual character more.
It's not bad, but it does feel a bit muddled compared to SA and IV. I feel like Franklin gets shafted by the three-protagonist mechanic the most, since most of the story goes into Michael and Trevor's dynamic. Franklin doesn't get a lot of development, and he's left to play the straight-man to Trevor and Lamar's antics, and Michael's moodiness, which, to me at least, makes him come off as a nag. Another thing is how the stories unfold: SA: CJ gets betrayed and has to build himself back up to the point where he can take back his home. IV: Niko arrives in a new place and is torn between seeking a new start and obtaining revenge for the darkest moment of his past. V: Mostly about Michael's deal with Dave to betray Trevor and Brad, but with a bunch of sub-plots weaved in that divide the games focus a bit too much. Ultimately I feel like R* made the right call with IV in focusing the main story on Niko and putting Johnny and Luis into their own separate DLCs. GTA V's writing just feels like the writers were spinning too many plates. But that's just my take.
I feel mostly the problems of GTA V are the villains and side characters. Whereas the old games had people like Gonzalez, Lance, Sonny, Big Smoke, Sweet, Ryder, Caesar, Toreno, Woozie, The Truth, Packie, Francis, Playboy X, Manny, Dimitri, Roman, Little Jacob, Rastaman, Brucie, Mallorie, Michelle, and a couple others that were all a strong side cast and definitely memorable, GTA V doesn't have much of that. The only ones I can remember off the top of my head is Lamar, Lester, Simeon (who was sidelined too early), Davey, Madrazo, Michael's family, Ron, Wade, Chef, Patricia, Friedlander, and... that one dude who worked at the contstruction. And the fact that some of these characters barely even appeared. It's even worse when you compare the villains, but I think I've made my point. What is however the true highlight of GTA V's story and one that many people refuse to accept are the protagonists. The story, the acting, their background, mannerisms, and everything are all captured fucking perfectly, and I know this might be ballsy but I'd say they are about as good as Niko Bellic and definitely tower amongst the other protags. They are still the best part of this game, everytime I replay the story I always catch new detail and background to them, and everytime they just shine more and more. @@Noah_Levy I find it to *be* Franklin's story actually. He is only sidelined *because he himself feels sidelined.* Intentionally. While in the first heist, he made money, he kept getting shafted after. He did all the pro work and he was never happy. Go hit his bong, Franklin's depressed as all hell. He's genuinely depressed. He's learning that even with money, and the home from Lester, happiness doesn't come along with it. At one point, as he's getting cars, he straight up says "If I hadn't met you, this is the exact shit I'd be doing." And that is why he makes the final choice. There's a lot of foreshadowing and attempts to sway you (the player's) final choice. As the game comes closer to completion, we see him seeing the worst sides of Mike. It's top quality audio engineering done by professionals. The amount of work necessary to make the audio blend or "splice" like that takes a lot of practice and a lot of patience to get right. I this know because I worked in a AA games company 10 about years ago working with audio and sounds. If you have played Tarkov and you might of noticed how the audio in that game is pretty scuffed in certain areas like in stairways, standing outside of doors and having the ability to hear footsteps and rustling of clothing 30+ meters away etc.. it's because the localisation and referencing isn't calibrated correctly, hence weird distortion effects. I kinda like Lester because he’s a pretty cool guy. But when he mentions of our online characters being too unpredictable he’s kinda got a point. No one knows what we are going to do or how we plan to do things in heists missions or anything. The only ones who know what we are going to do is us. One minute someone thinks we will go stealth. The next we go guns blazing on everyone killing anyone and anything on sight. Our online characters only do the things we make them do. We control our characters lives. We do things our ways. When things don’t work out we find another way to make a mission effective. We fail going stealth we go loud (except if you are more of a stealth person than you just restart the whole mission). But no one can predict what we are going to do next. People like Lester think we are doing things his way. But we do things our way all the time. Pavel even says at some point in the Cayo perico heist that it’s our operation that we choose to do. Our characters are just different than the story mode characters. Because no one knows what we will do next. Sometimes not even us.
If that was said 10 years ago, and movies are how they are now, (yes, even the upcoming sonic movie) then I can’t help but fear how they will end up being a few decades down the road

12:08 "I thought you said you spoke to him?"
"Yeah, I did! Okay. Kinda." 🤣
2:31 love how the subtitles say: Fashionably retro, ‘weird-for-a-forty-five-year-old-man-but-I-cannot-let-go-of-the-1980s’ bag,
So you love how the subtitles say EXACTLY WHAT IS SAID ABOVE. Good to know.
4:02 I stood up and saluted when Michael spoke to the American pride of us movie buffs. 5 bagger
3:51 never been more true, in our own society
I’m not gonna outrun a cop, we’ve gotta go!
My thoughts exactly, pal. With how movies have been in a downward spiral, I don’t even go to the movie theatre anymore.
27:00 the fucking jump roll killed me
Dave Norton: Michael’s deuteragonist
Ron: Trevor’s deuteragonist
Lamar: Franklin’s deuteragonist
Lester: Everybody’s deuteragonist
1:28 bakery workers every morning
This warranted a unnecessarily long laugh
I love that Lester references Nikko and your online character in the same cutscene
32:33 is my favourite part of the Original storyline because it shows how much Trevor cares for F
No idea why but 31:24 is my favorite scene with them all
Lester is the most badass and dangerous character in the game. The fact he’s a cripple doesn’t stop him. I think it’s Motor Neuron Disease he has, and still has a thirst for the ladies.
27:04 im gon start making that sound whenever i see my homies
6:08 The Niko bellic reference makes me smile :)
4:00 damn Lester hit the nail dead on the head with that comment.😂😂
Always loved the relationship between the two
16:33
“What took you so long?”
“wHa ToOk Ya So LaAng?”
"there was a... an eastern European guy making moves in Liberty City, but.. nah he went quiet." Nico belic my friends. I love that rockstar references their older games. I hope in GTA VI they mention the old crew and lester.
Ehhh in online Ron said trever became a guru
Thank you for making these videos, I’ve played through so many times I skip the cutscenes and some dialogue but I’ve forgotten how much detailed the story was
6:12 I never played GTA V and only played GTA IV and below. Just played the entire game this Christmas and lemme tell when I heard this, my heart just melted.
11:51 Trevor havig the time of his life.
0:19 I like the back-at-ya-type response from Michael.
when lester says ''this is not the car were looking for'' he sounds like the bear from among the sleep
28:09 Franklin drank PISS 😂😂😂😂😂
Giorno: “First time?”
6:12 my boy Niko
Michael and Lester arguing is like a chat over some coffee compared to Michael and Trevor lmao
“ Now it's just superheroes, romantic comedies and remakes..”
I hate how this is still true
Oh my god Lester is such an amazing and funny character. I’m gonna miss all these characters in gta 6 bro
I love how Lester mentions previous gta game protagonists and even our own multiplayer character
19:47 these are not the droids we're looking for. reference
"what took you so long?"
"wHaT tOoK yOu So LoNg?????"
I half expect them to be robots
"Teabag time, my friend!"
The eastern european guy making moves in liberty city was Niko Belic.
Nothing gets past you.
@@tunemelon2164Wdym?
And who are the Irish crazies and the group from the south?
@@TheFunnyDictator The IRA and the KKK
@@TheFunnyDictator Irish crazy is GTA 3 and the south is vice city. Someone else pointed this out
6:11 Lester mentioning niko
This game was seriously like watching a show I love Rockstar's storytelling
"franklin im sorry!" this shows how much mike realy loves frank
"Now its just superheros, romantic comedies, and remakes." This is SO true.
Even more so nowadays lol
Remember: this game came out in 2013.
If that was said 10 years ago, and movies are how they are now, (yes, even the upcoming sonic movie) then I can’t help but fear how they will end up being a few decades down the road
Every time trevor says what took you so long always gets me
I like franklin and lesters relationship too, they chilling
"Hello, Franklin :)"
"Wassup?"
9:05 Haha!, Michael’s sarcastic laugh.
15:14 Michael about to say "it's complicated" before realizing he's talking to the one person who could un-complicate it.
I didn't thought i needed to watch this video until i did
3:40 I like to think he domed and proceeded to bag jimmy. Would be cool if they had a cyber rivalry
*“Get, out of here!”*
Thanks brother, for editing those video, I like your channel a lot
Glad you like them! Thank you very much!✨
Michael with aviators looks like a Cold War operative. Like Russell Adler from Black Ops Cold War but with dark hair
Lester found 3 people in a matter of seconds based on WILDLY different metrics.
He is terrifying.
16:33 I Always Love How Micheal Mocking Trevor By Beat The Race Though XD
Man I'm glad they mentioned Niko
I’ve always been a fan of Lester he’s the evil genius nerd that is behind the computer love his role in the game.
''I'll put you in ground, wheels.''
One of the biggest holes I found storywise was Michael asking Lester about Trevor, Lester saying he basically fell off the grid. Only to tell him while casing the Paleto Score that he saw the title of ownership and glassware ordered for the joint a year prior.
I love how Lester manages to do all the shit he does and not have a scratch on him.
