As a young bloke I drove an FB Holden from Melbourne all over Frazer island 42 years ago. We even got some air over the beach jumps. Lost our roof racks on one landing it was so hard. Had to stop and put them back on. Australia was pioneered by 2 wheel drive fords and Holdens. Loved your video and even felt like clapping after the creek crossings. Fantastic that you got to the cape.
Some people have said they could do it in a Commodore, I tell em to go for it. I doubt they would survive but the challenge is open, until then the Falcon is king. The Telegraph track was also completed by an XC V8 wagon in the early 80s
Good stuff, love it. My old HK did a lot of NQ, NT and SA developmental roads back in the early eighties, always carried a hand winch and some rope but never needed it. This video should be required viewing for all modern 4wd'ers.
I drove from Coffs Harbour to Dorrigo and it's 15km of dirt road from just past Ulong through the Bellingen and Dorrigo state forests to Megan in an FG G6E. I met three grey nomad couples in their Landcruiser, Patrol and Prado and they were shocked that I'd take such a car as the G6E on a dirt track. They said "we're going down a dirt track so we have to have a 4WD". There was no hard 4 wheel driving like in this video and so a car like the G6E could handle it with ease and it did.
I watched an Xbox 2 door cross the wenlock in the mid 80’s Was full of water inside when across Was a 302 V8 from memory Pretty spectacular! Great job your trip
Haha, mate trust me. The thing was a freak. Only reason we got rid of it was because we couldn't keep it at my new house anymore. It sat on limiter all day and the suspension had enough travel to walk through anything
+Lorry Stagg Now I would sub to that, make a facebook page. You may have just started something big for old shitty falcon owners everywhere.... would love to own a shitty falcon to bash
+Aaron Davis Where do i sign up? haha. Theres quite a few people doing off road mods to falcons these days. Ive gone pretty far in my EA fairmont ghia wagon..no bashing and thrashing, the lsd is mint!

We used 235/75R15(a tad under 30') maxxis 751 all terrains, and yeah it was a lot of fun.
It's good to see that people have stood up to the challenge of a 2wd on the telegraph track

They did have a high clearance ute ( with a few other mods ) Not 4wd either
what were some of the thoughts and comments from other people ?
Some people loved it and took photos, others took offence that there was a car on their 'epic adventure'
And you see fourbies getting bogged, how much did the car cost?
I paid $5k for it in 2004
