Watching this again after 1 year. Thank you so much for this video. It set me on the path and I’m now on my 35th rebind and loving the hobby and starting to get customers. #walkthewalk
Questions regarding the deconstruction. Is it possible to salvage endpapers and inner coverplates? I have an old bible where these are stunning works of sacred art
I have a 1989 copyright Thomas Nelson KJV reference Bible with the Concise Strong's Concordance in the back. And I don't know if it can be rebound or not? It's a bonded leather.
One important difference between Ben’s method and Caloca’s method in my experience is that Caloca’s method is faster and cheaper than Ben’s method is. This may be helpful for a lot of people wondering which style they should pick.
Thanks for the video. The book and your videos has helped a lot. I use your technique for the raised ribs - not his :) Do you have any tuts on perimeter stitching or know where I could find one?
I’ve been learning to rebind and I second Caloca’s book. It’s a handy resource for whenever I want to make sure I’m doing a step right. I also recommend Ben’s tutorials for spine work, as Ben is more thorough here than Diego is.
I picked up Diego's book a couple of weeks ago and it is a great resource. I've watched your videos and some others also and have learned quite a bit. I'm almost ready to stick my toe in the water. Quick question...when you cut away the existing cover, do you reinforce the spine at all? It almost seems like that needs to be done.
Thanks. I slowed it down and got a look at it and also noticed the Oxford Tube. I'll have to look into that more closely. I didn't see that Diego covered that in his book, so, that is new to me.
Sigh. I wish I had more hobby time to mess around. I have everything I need to create bible covers and have done that...but there's nothing like it just being THE case, itself.

This Is GREAT! My new ministry EBP (Evangelical Bible Publishers) will launch this week. Well, in the sense of the work begins. God Bless.
Please tell me you're going to be making/rebinding bibles. Excited to hear more!
Great video - thanks for doing this :)

I do. I typically add a strip of synthetic material to the spine of the book block as well as to the under side of the spine of the cover
Thanks. Do you have a video that shows your process for this?
I don't think I do but you can see what it looks like in my time lapse video

This is pretty exciting stuff!
Hey brother. I'm thinking about getting a bible to rebind. I like the quality of your binds. Is there a way you can bind one for me ?
Love the video
Thank you SO much. Just bought the kindle book. I’ve agreed to rebind a friend’s bible and now I won’t be so scared!
