This is exactly how I feel about baby Yoda oversaturating the market. Lol I totally get where you're coming from and at the end of the day it's about making money for the studio & marketing for those toys. Now sure since 1977 studios have been marketing the shit out of properties like Star Wars as a means to sell toys to the masses (and especially kids) however it's gotten far more cynical as the years have gone on and now they're doing it to the point of sacrificing a once good character and keeping him stagnant as one cutesy little thing instead of actually doing something with his character for the story. So I see both sides definitely. It's all about the kiddies at this point. Which in a way it always was but at the beginning of the MCU it was really about comic book fans and the fans of those original characters which sadly they have not continued to adapt and grow with their audience. I would be fine if they had a few projects that were aimed towards kids on Disney plus that had no tie into the MCU but the fact is most of these things tie into the MCU and the larger picture which is part of the problem. I feel like the whole of the MCU at this point is more about the money and marketing to Disney plus and children which sadly Disney has turned into a crutch for Marvel to now just release subpar Marvel content & to release it fast! It's unfortunate. How did we get from 10 great years of the MCU to this? It's insane to me but DC has the same problems and I don't have a horse in any of this race, I could care less at this point but criticizing things we love currently or that we once loved is a healthy conversation to be had and it is a good way to vocalize what you as if you are want and it certainly helps you grow if you're willing to criticize the thing that you love. At this point it's good not to take any of this stuff too seriously. Because clearly Disney doesn't anymore... 😂
I agree to a point.......But at least Grogu serves SOME purpose to the story. And his story is still continuing. They are reaching into the past and pulling out this little fucker.
I am Groot fun mini series where each episode is a funny little episode showing Groot growing back to the lovably dumb goofball he was in the first movie. Like episode 1 is baby Groot being a cute, little infant vibing sorta like the opening of GOTG Vol. 2 and then we could go on to get a fun episode where he acts like a spoiled 5yr old or something. It'd make the series fun and relatable to everyone while also transitioning into GOTG vol. 3 if presumably he'll be full grown Groot again by then.
Really all of marvel is a crash grab at this point. They're trying to make sure they have a certain amount of movies and TV shows a year, not because of storytelling but because of...MONEY. which is why the quality of story telling has dropped so low (thor 4) for example. They know we're going to see it at this point cause it's a marvel property. So they're not even reading their own scripts anymore. Phase one was so well put together and there was a point and it felt like they cared at least a little bit. They've thrown caution to the wind and at this point
