Definitely, HL2 was incredible! I recently started replaying it with my dad (he controls the mouse and I control the keyboard- fun way to play 1 player fps games with 2 ppl). It never ceases to amaze me, the complexities that the game has- story, characters, graphics, etc.
I have fond memories of playing through HL2 when the Orange Box came out and being blown away by all this too. HL2 was almost four years old at that point and it still looked better than games that had just come out! Great stuff.

Artistic movements go back and forth between depicting realistic features and idealized representations of the subject. That means there’s a few slices of history where it could work realistically well and others where it wouldn’t be super accurate. It would be interesting to work on that though, I agree.
AI is just binary interpritations. It won't be able to create accurate renders of art where features are subjective to the craftsmanship. And the more accurate the features of a statue is, well, the less need there would for an AI
Except the combat at higher difficulties I'd say, it's too boring cuz the enemy only become more meaty and not actually get new bigger moves or anything

13:25 Theory: it gives outputs feminine features because only women in its sample data were wearing makeup, and makeup can be applied in a wide range of ways, and create variations in the image that are hard for it to explain otherwise. So whenever it is confused about the input image, it associates that uncertainty with makeup and with the person being a woman. Maybe adding ultraviolet and infrared channels to the training data would give more information about things like makeup and sunscreen, and give a face generating AI a better understanding of human faces and what it's supposed to be doing.
if only you could get that data.... "hey can you come in we're just doing a photoshoot with infrared and UV cameras" what if you trained it with MRI and other medical scan data of faces? those would contain information of facial structures

I challenge the guys to resurrect Max Headroom using modern VFX tools, but using Wren as a character model. Bonus points if he’s interactive using real-time mocap from Wren. Crazy to think I’ve been watching these guys since like ‘09 (can’t remember it’s been so long) back when I found them through the Freddie Wong channel and he was the bigger star and it seemed like Freddie would just get bigger and bigger. Corridor was always my favorite. Their stuff has always been great. Glad they stuck with it and found success on their own without needing big network deals.
My understanding is they photographed a real model's face to begin with and then just changed it a bit. So it is a bit like an older school version of what they did with Norman Reedus or Keanu Reeves. Still, impressive work!

For anyone having issues getting this to work...Test it with a real image of a person. I had a lot of issues that I thought were in the code. After poking around, it turned out, it wasn't detecting a face but the error I was getting was not clear. So TL;DR, just test it with a real face. Then go find other faces and mess around. If it breaks, you know its too non-human to get an AI face from it. Cheers!
Sometimes anime these parts are voiced by women, like Goku is famously voiced by a woman (original Japanese voice actor) and of course often times their animated faces tend to look feminine for their lead protagonists. The AI is pretty spot on
But for real, as fun as this was to watch, it’s clear they don’t know what time we’re alive in. Good call. I’d love to see a sequel of this with his channel. It’s insane that they don’t do collabs already.

Theory: it gives outputs feminine features because only women in its sample data were wearing makeup, and makeup can be applied in a wide range of ways, and create variations in the image that are hard for it to explain otherwise. So whenever it is confused about the input image, it associates that uncertainty with makeup and with the person being a woman.
Maybe adding ultraviolet and infrared channels to the training data would give more information about things like makeup and sunscreen, and give a face generating AI a better understanding of human faces and what it's supposed to be doing.

Crazy to think I’ve been watching these guys since like ‘09 (can’t remember it’s been so long) back when I found them through the Freddie Wong channel and he was the bigger star and it seemed like Freddie would just get bigger and bigger. Corridor was always my favorite. Their stuff has always been great. Glad they stuck with it and found success on their own without needing big network deals.

For anyone having issues getting this to work...Test it with a real image of a person. I had a lot of issues that I thought were in the code. After poking around, it turned out, it wasn't detecting a face but the error I was getting was not clear. So TL;DR, just test it with a real face. Then go find other faces and mess around. If it breaks, you know its too non-human to get an AI face from it. Cheers!

Sometimes anime these parts are voiced by women, like Goku is famously voiced by a woman (original Japanese voice actor) and of course often times their animated faces tend to look feminine for their lead protagonists. The AI is pretty spot on
