Hi sis, just found your channel. Please i studied Geophysics and i don't know which jobs to apply for in this field. I plan on going for a course in IT but it's more like a certification course. Do you think a certification course is enough to apply for a job in the UK?
Hi. I'm not sure. I think it depends on how strong the certification course is and the platform you take the course from.
Indeed actually had lots of job posts but it appears lots of these jobs require a UK address for one to even complete the application. Will appreciate some thoughts around this.

Hello Maryam, to connect with recruiter it is best to change my location from Nigeria to country where I would like to move to.
Do you mean change your location on your CV or your LinkedIn profile? To apply for jobs, modify your CV and remove Nigeria from it. When you write the place you worked, don't write Nigeria after it.
For example, if you worked as a data analyst at "XZ PLC, Nigeria". When writing your CV for UK jobs, only write "XZ PLC"
Then to connect with recruiters on LinkedIn, you can let them know that you are in Nigeria but looking to make a career move to the UK (or the country you want to move to).
@@HelloMaryam1 thanks for the response . I mean for LinkedIn, from your explanation it is ok to have my present location as Nigeria. However, I can indicate on my profile I am looking at working at desired countries.

Otherwise, there are so many other job opportunities for different fields on LinkedIn and Indeed website.
Did u have a 2.1 pls? I heard that's a requirement for sponsorship visa.
It is a requirement for certain jobs. But not a requirement for sponsorship visa. The major requirement for a work visa sponsorship is the employment letter from the company inviting you to work in the UK.

The way Nigerians are relocating is alarming, the restrictions in Dubai could being but on Nigerians because they are really too much of them there and causing alot of problems it ended up affection other African countries
Nigerians have Notin to do with other African countries visa restrictions,dere is more to it than you know😮
Ironically, I didn't know there was a "Japa" wave until few weeks after I got into UK. I didn't know that a lot of people were relocating from Nigeria.
However, I get your point. It's best to have a plan when moving to a new country, especially one you don't know how the system works, to avoid being stranded.
