Guys, this was made when shriekers were still only appearing to few people here and there. I got lucky 2 in a row.
It was impossible to go in prepared, there was no hellbomb, no free 500kg bomb either
A Hellbomb strategem will be available when you get close to the Shrieker's Nest. At least that is what I saw

Regular airstrikes are much better at destroying these types of structures because you can blow them up in a few seconds from a safe distance without having to go in to activate the hellbomb (thus exposing yourself) and run away.
So it's an automatic hellbomb use by proxy to these things? Thank fucking goodness.

Hate how the wings are avian like. They should've went with insect wings. Regardless, I'm hype for flying enemies

They are based off the 40k Tyranids. Tyranids have membranes between their weird scythe talons that look like bat wings.

The terminids are less like bugs and more like lizards with carapace. We just refer to them as bugs since their behavior is similar to ants and have segmented legs.
@@theyehsohz that makes a ton of sense. They don’t move like bugs at all (hunters and their jumpy selves.) and they have tongues and teeth which most insects (if not all) don’t have.
i didn't know about them and we were on lvl 9, 3 nests all of them right next to each other, it would be an understatement to say we got slaughtered

I found the laser cannon and Scythe are also really effective against the shriekers, Easy to stay on target and slice them to pieces. The Laser Cannon can also easily destroy the Nests with a few seconds of firing.

The shriekers or really easy to dodge, because many people get overwhelmed but in reality it’s really easy they will attack in a straight line it will not move, they usually fly away getting you some time to run away, and kill the ground enemys
the first two times I've found nests, the hellbomb was armed and fizzled out like a dud glitch or added difficulty?
I used an EAT.
2 rockets for each tree and with 3 min between EWT drops It's not bad.
I dropped a turrent to defend me as took them out the shrooms

Also, I was absolutely terrified when I dropped next to the nest on my 1st encounter of the shrekiers, I ran Shot one down and it fell on me, I was dead 😂

I was lucky that day, got the shriekers 2 times in a row, there was no way to go in prepared.
You can also autocannon and EAT-17 at distance before they spawn.
The team I was with was rocking at least 2 people with EAT-17s and one autocannon. We took the nests out at range before we saw a shrieker
annoying that the gun loaded with birdshot isn't the most effective choice against them.

Omg I thought I was crazy. I dropped 2 500 kg bombs with direct hits and it didn't do anything. Then trying shooting them and then it went quick

The absolute worst part about the Shriekers is that, unlike Stalkers, they can call in bug breaches.
Shriekers are bringing me back to the breaker after using the sickle for the last week.
the javelin can actually lock on the nests, but they are really inconsistent, either that or I accidentally locked onto a shrieker that was inside the nest and blew it up
I donw think we all realise how terrifying the bugs are for our average citizen. Imagine digging down or going cave spelunking and seeing the head of a brood mother twitching, or the head armor of a charger, or even worse...a super long and skinny armored leg
These guys are the answer to not letting players stay on top of the rocks where the bugs can't get them. Been a few times now, they catch me while I am looking down :P

I didnt know they were added in yet, so I played my first match last night and started getting swarmed by them when fighting a large breach
Certainly a fun jumpscare for me and my teammates
I love and hate the Sickle, I mean its a great gun, but it operates like a gun not a laser, more like a starwars blaster (which is not a laser) I wish it was like a pulse laser from Battletech.
Incendiary Breaker + minigun/gatling sentry for the swarms

Use the auto cannon. You can take out a tree with a whole clip of auto cannon clip and you can take it out at a really far range.
If you lie down you kinda miss their hit range it's inconsistent but I avoided like 3 flying over me. Hard when you have hunters and chargers around obviously.
The Eagle Airstrike can one-shot these trees. Seems like one of the better options to take them down.
"Cannot think of a better one than the Sickle" Literally the Stalwart, you will be dealing with the ground hunters aswell.

Did you try using Autocannon?
It took about 7-8 autocannom and 2-3 rockets to take down the mushroom from what i tested
Airstrikes, barrages, 500KG, precision strike, helbomb, best way, problem is with planets with mesas, most stuff hits the mesas and never reaches the ground.
Will eat be useful at long range? Hmm testing required
had 2 crashes after 1 hour... But yea the shriekers had a game with 20 or so swarming the team
These enemies make the breaker spray and pray have exactly one situation in which it is usefull. Also there is no point in wasting any ammo or stratagems on those things. I tested dropping 2 500kg on them and it didnt destroy them. Best bet is the hellbomb itself.
Yeah, lets waste all the ammo and nade instead of calling the Hellbomb or even the Eagle 500 kg.

Spawn 2 or 3 at time? Today i have around 8 one after another raising after the three lol, at least it was a nice fight, completely opposite of the annoying Hunters.
Arc seems like if it worked like it does on jumping bugs it would hard counter them

These shriekers are horrible. All their attacks are headshots and our helmets do nothing. Shield back pack is almost mandatory. The exosuit rockets can destroy the shrieker trees pretty quickly from a distance tho.

worst enemy rn.. dunno if this is intentionally but they kill u instantly, even with shield if they drop on you dead..
The tree has heavy armor. I'd try not to waste rockets on them and just try hitting them with eagles or orbitals. The hellbomb is probably the most resource-efficient way of dealing with them.
Does eagle airt strike works?
Have you shoot twice/tripple Rockets at them? If only once, thats not enough.
These things are ridiculous because just like the titan if you kill them and they touch you while they are falling you die...
I just autocannon the nest across the map.
And if I spawn near one, I just melee the Shriekers when they get near. They are weak.
Ive been running a stalwart with eat recently, these bugs give stalwart more legitimacy without a needed buff
Stalwart and machine gun are glorified primary weapons, robbing you of a more powerful weapon
ARC Thrower are very good against it. I think you just doesn't know how brother. But mistakes is mistakes. If you aim them after they strike you. You can kill them. Very hard to do it right. Don't forget Splits the ARC Shotgun. easier to do.
people are saying you can call in hellbombs to destroy them, is it true? i couldn't in my mission, had to airstrike them a lot
seems like hellbombs are either not always available or bugged atm since I had several destroy research building missions where I couldnt call down a hellbomb, wich usually works.

These enemies break the game for me. It was fun dealing with ground units now its just annoying to play when youre getting swarmed

Works fine. They are weak, so go down fast. But they hit really hard so keep your head on a swivel.
@@MrChiMasterSir yeah, found out the hard way their dead bodies can take you out when they fall out of the sky.
They are weak individually but gets chaotic when there’s a dozen in the sky and chargers and e everything else coming at you. Head on a swivel indeed. Game is so fun!
I've had the opposite experience with the arc thrower, it hits them from really far away and usually kills 2 or 3 with 1 shot. You just need to aim better

@@LaserTractor apparently because it absolutely wrecks these flying mobs but this guy starts off by saying it's terrible vs them. The arc thrower sometimes hits the ground so you need to aim higher, but vs flying ones you need to aim more directly I guess? All I know is from my exp the arc thrower makes these mobs a non-issue
Quite frankly, made us quit. It's not like these are bad enough for that on their own, but we steadily grew more frustrated with the game. Motivation went down after we basically are capped on all ressources anyways. First mission we encountered these we literally had 2 nests right next to each other. The flood of shriekers, which mind you literally can oneshot you, on top of all the usual madness, while being slowed by multiple hunters and chased by at least one charger on higher difficulties, and we just finally drew the line. The damn nest also spawned on top of a hill with a rather long windy path up, while two nests worth of stuff spawned. Which would be so bad if you could destroy them from afar, but nah, obviously these things are like armored shrooms lol. Probably the worst way to be introduced to the new enemies possible.. but then again, the game is just so increadibly inconsistant that these things are bound to happen.

Huh, so... gatling turret and a grenade launcher should make easy work of the shriekers
The trees are at least medium armor. My GF was able to take one down with a HMG emplacement for one set and a 500kg for another, but the GL did nothing.

never saw them on difficulty 8 or 9 . and i play almost every day for 2 -3 hours

Orbital laser takes care of the trees fast as well. I dropped 1000kg but I'm guessing both bombs didn't get close enough

They have been in for awhile since the tower major order they are just extremely rare they will probably be more common later on

We need to talk about the lack of Primary Weapons other then Shotguns; we only get 1 medium armor penetrating gun throughout the entire tier of weapons mainly assault rifles. There should be better weapons as you move up the tiers to 9. Harder hitting and bigger mags.
The stewart and MG43 should be a primary weapon; Not specialized. "Didn't Super Earth learn anything from "Starship Troopers" & "Aliens".
To quote a great fighters. "To attack the Dothraki in open field is foolish and damn foolish with a shotgun". Shotguns are close quarter weapons, nothing about the bugs or bots speaks close quarters.
Use the Scorcher. The explosive damage downs everything except titans and hulks with ease.
Just dive! They can not hit you.
my question is FUCKING WHY!? was the bs constant hunter spam not enough? now we need things that fly to add to the bs factor of things you need to flail around to hit when there's multiple chargers. I did a single lvl 6 mission today and the spawn rate on Fori Prime is....ridiculous to say the least. Every patch makes me dislike the devs more and more. The game felt great at launch and now it's just. "Eh lets throw 5000 piles of fast garbage at you to 2 shot you idn't that fun tehe

it never left my menu. and yeah it is an aid against those things, but not a get out free card as sometime their actual corpses will fall hit you and you dead...and it sucks even more if the rover killed one and it lands on you without you seeing them beforehand.

500KG one shots a tree most likely as it is also a hellbomb objective
Tip for the nest:
Orbitals, 500kg and *maybe* the Mech's missiles can take it out fairly quickly.
If you get close, you also get access to a hellbomb.
Dont waste your ammo on the trees - use the stratagems!

U can use 2 single shot rocket launchers to kill 1 Shroom or 4-5 shots with an autocannon if I remember correctly. What was shown in this video is absolutely demented.

Stalkers need to be nerfed, they are to fast and extremely OP sometimes one shotting. If you are lucky they will strike and retreat.. I hate those basterds. . . Also where TF is the bug queen ?

Keep telling yourself that everything is fine with the game, deepthroating whatever the devs throw at you.
There is a lot wrong with the game but no one wants to admit it.
Hunters are too plentiful, no matter the difficulty, especially given their one shot potential, slowness and pretty sturdy HP pool.
Stalkers are easy when you know they are coming but have the same one shot potential and even more HP than a Hunter.
Shriekers one shot you consistently by chopping your head off through a shield and there's always at least 3 of them per bug hole and 3 bug holes per nest.
And the heavy enemies seem to love to survive direct hits with both recoilless AND EATs to the head for no reason when it's an instant kill on a charger and a 2 shot kill on titans.
On the Robot side, things look different.
Rocket Raiders are cheap one shots that spawn in groups of 5 or more
Rocket Devestators are still one of the most hated enemies in the game because of their insanely accurate rockets
Berserkers have wayyy too much health, surviving 3 or more Autocannon shots for one to kill, when they spawn in packs of 6 at a time
And the main issue, the guns just feel like they have no impact.
And Strategems have cooldowns or uses so don't get at me with that crap.
One word: Slugger.
I fought these a week ago. Dodge the bugs and just run to the nest and destroy it.
