    What changes would you make to armor passives?

    • @Wwillswords

      I would scale them based off of armor class like light armor get 2 extra grenades heavy 6 for example.

    • @KalenTomlinson
      @KalenTomlinson หลายเดือนก่อน

      The ability to change them.. they all are kinda mid.. and you cannot even buff your helmet or guns or modify attachments yet, or at least change the color shaders of everything.
      The bright orange cape and guns are ugly and kinda suck even with the fire buffs (which seem to buff the bots more than us)

    • @KalenTomlinson
      @KalenTomlinson หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@WwillswordsI would actually like this change more. If they are gonna make every armor the same and have no uniques or rares, they might as well double down and make this change instead of my idea. I think that could work too but that's a step in the right direction I think..
      I kinda agree with the devs on not giving players the ability to swap around perks off different armors.. but there still needs to be a change like something is off when I only use one set of armor..
      Maybe I only change it to use the scout perk to farm super credits on trivial mode faster with stam boost and jump pack..
      That's the only time I change...
      Part of that is..
      I CAN'T SWAP MY DANG LOADOUT...
      even call of duty had custom loadouts you can swap to faster than HD2 decades ago...
      That would be quality of life instantly fixing some of down time

    • @Wwillswords
      @Wwillswords หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KalenTomlinson why can't you swap your load out, press R for pc in the stratagem selection screen to quickly swap out? I do it fairly often depending on mission, difficulties opponents, and allies. For example at level 7 with my sniper friend (who likes playing 3 solo) I either run medic or explosive resistance depending on AC or AMR if I need to be a jack of all trades sickle vs bots if I can be a little more focused on clearing berserker and devastators the scorcher. Stun or impact depending on allies call ins and so forth. Vs bugs I sometimes go full fire vs them with incendiary grenades and breaker and flamethrower with medic armor or with throwing range for limb vitality. But their should be an update soon which will make more guns viable at higher difficulties. I think that if your stuck on one loadout just try something different at lower difficulties and see what is fun then keep climbing higher, you can beat level 7 with troll builds and even level 8 if your not afraid of running away alot. I believe that like in helldivers 1 they allowed you to upgrade guns and I think that will be implemented in the future as maybe a war bond, instead of a new gun you get a different scope option for a all guns it can attach to.

    -Recoil reduction armors also reduce recoil while standing by 30% despite their description, also most weapons have vastly different recoil profiles while in first person, especially the dominator which has almost no recoil in first person(compared to 3rd person) and the sickle literally has no recoil and the small variance in bullet spread is due to the barrel turning so it wasn't a very good test of the recoil reduction armors.
    Where these perks shine most is against the automatons, especially when paired with an autocannon that is capable of shooting fairy quickly and is precise but is held back by its recoil.
    Being able to get prone-equivalent recoil reduction by just crouching is amazing because it doesn't lower your POV too much and you can sprint/dive out of a crouch immediately.
    On the topic of prone-equivalent recoil, as soon as you dive you are considered prone and have insane recoil and sway reduction allowing for some max payne moments.

    Regarding the Extra Padding testing, your buddy hit you in the face on the second hit in the lighter armor which bypasses armor, either case Armor doesn't diffentiate between damage type, though melee enemies are more likely to hit your head than ranged given their attack animations. Also past the first 50 armor, which gives you 50% damage reduction, every 50 armor above that gives you roughly 12.5% more, up to 87.5% with 200 armor. This can be seen by testing headshot damage vs body shot damage, though with the recent update now giving damage reduction to head shots on armor above 100, you may need someone with sub 100 armor for control purposes.
    Sad fact, Servo-Assist's Limb Health passive doesn't combine with Increased Vitality which is practically a must have because it increases your health enough that most enemies one be able to one shot head shot you anymore while also increasing the amount of damage needed to inflict limb damage.

  • @MeeWho
    @MeeWho หลายเดือนก่อน +29

    i won't tell you how to play your game,...
    but
    Recoil: recoil reduction is crazy important mechanics to control you know? You skip autocannon, grenade launcher, focusing on machine guns, but whatever. 30% is 30% and in my case, shotguns and marksman rifles control is easier
    Scout: People not looking at your scout armour pins could be your projection, or you just suck at pinning map xDD
    For me it's my go-to, i assist allies when i stroll solo, detect enemy patrols and, check for points of interest and secondary objectives... endless possibilities. And it make some main objectives easier to control
    Padding: It would be cool for you to read about game math when you showcase and talk about differences. Especially in damage formula. Kinda pointless to analyze it, cause viewer won't understand anything if you dont have at least grasp of it.
    Engineer and Medic: you could just merge this segment together.
    Arc damage: just wait for Protoss..eee..i mean Illuminates
    or play first game if you can't wait to be electrocuted. I genuinely feel we need some fire-resistant counterpart in this field.

    @mejm8855 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

    The scout armor has a very special use in hunting for samples and other goodies. Almost all points of interest on the map will have 2-5 guards just sitting around doing nothing. It makes it super easy to find extra loot and hidden side objectives.
    Also if you learn the difference between what makes a big bubble vs a small bubble on the radar map, you can easily count from across the map how many guards are at an objective.

    • @brendanrobertson5966
      @brendanrobertson5966 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      At least one team member should be running scout armour for this reason. It is also very useful for planning an assault on a major objective. each category of enemy has a different sized blob, so its very helpful to work out where the hulk/chargers are in a compound for placing barrage and directional assaults. Planning makes a big difference for avoiding unrequired engagements.

  • @smilingcobra1891
    @smilingcobra1891 หลายเดือนก่อน +61

    I think you're underestimating the power of the medic armor. one of the most useful things about stims is the temporary invulnerability they give you. you can literally stand in heavy devastator fire and be fine so long as you don't get unlucky with headshots. having an extra 2 seconds of near invulnerability is really powerful. the consumption rate and availability of stims can also vary depending on playstyle and loadout. I really want extra stims when I'm completing objectives away from my teammates and can't call in a resupply (if you're running of on your own you better not be taking everyone else's supplies). I also don't like using the shield against bots and having more stims is very useful against all the chip damage they give you.
    I think you misunderstood the +50 armor passive. the reason that the melee killed you faster than expected is that one of the hits was a headshot. the armor isn't strong against melee. it's just that the player takes extra damage from headshots. anything can headshot you, which is why 2 hunters can basically instakill you if you get unlucky. I think that armor doesn't affect headshot damage, but I might be wrong about that.
    the extra throwing range on the servo armor is amazing, but the extra limb health is garbage. if you get injured enough to have limb damage you're probably going to use a stim and get rid of the injury. the extra health booster also has the same effect. I think having the booster might even make the passive not work, but I'm not certain about that.

    With the explosive resistance, it also is affected by the armor you wear. Heavy armor *does* reduce the amount of damage you take, and therefore, with the added perk, it heavily reduces the amount of explosive damage in general. Toss on the Vitality perk, which increases limb health as well as overall HP pool of your helldiver, and you'll tank way more rockets than you normally would be able to, be from allies or enemies.

    The stealth Armour has 2 major benefits that I use all the time.
    Number 1.
    I don't need to outrun the Bear I only need to outrun you. Basically if you are wearing any other Armour apart from stealth you will be targeted first, Especially when the enemies are in a aggravated state.
    I'm also noticed that stuff I'm a loser some of its death when enemies are aggravated. This gives me great flanking opportunities when the enemies are focused on another diver and I am pelting them with a shotgun/machine gun from the side.
    No.2
    I'm typically able to take enemies quicker in small batches which usually means I don't I have enemy reinforcements on my position.
    I also do Prone and lay down from time to time.
    Launching a stratagem while Hell Diving. This makes it travel a little bit further, At least that's what I've heard. You may wanna check up on that.

    For the Scout armor, crouching/crawling/prone also reduces your visibility, so with normal armor while crawling, enemies can see you from about 20-ish meters away, and with the Scout armor on, roughly 5 meters closer than that. Night time also affects visibility, and planetary modifiers, so if someone really wanted to make the best use of that part of the passive, you can get very close to enemies with all of those modifiers on while prone. Very niche, but it can be really good to do entire objectives without being seen. Otherwise, the mini-map part of the passive is mostly used to find minor points of interest, mainly for Super Credit or sample farming. That part is very hit or miss though, some missions I've done it works flawlessly and I can easily find every point of interest, and other times it just doesn't work for the entire mission. Seems to bug out for a mission after moving to a new planet.
    Med-Kit passive is a lot more useful when not running the shield backpack, but anyone running that backpack can easily pass on those sets. That, and I personally don't like the green coloring of it.. fashion matters!
    Democracy Protects is literally only useful for surviving the new air burst rocket launcher.. sometimes lol
    And I REALLY wish the extra padding sets had either the 50% bonus limb health or explosive resistance as well. Same with the Electrical armor set.. only having one passive effect makes them automatically weaker than the rest of the armor perks, even if the perks themselves are good.

      It’s actually the complete opposite. The less modifiers present the more you get out of scout armor. Standing still with no other modifiers allow enemy to detect you from 50 away while scout reduces that by 15, think about it. Standing is the only stance you can sprint, scout armor creates ridiculous leeways you can sprint right in front of patrols while they act like they’re all blind.

I was hoping based on the description of the armors there would be a kinetic build up explosion of electricity if you took melee damage, so like a counter attack if bugs tried to swarmed you or attacked.
    But overall i think there needs to be a ship module for upgrading armor stats or increase the passive effects.

I never call in drops and mostly solo main/side objectives in my squads and never need to resupply for the whole game as I have enough stuff so my squad can use them, but if I don’t have those 2 extra stims I’ll most likely be dead. It can also be used as a movement item as you can jump and take some damage then once your stamina depletes you can stim and run really far. Also if you get pinned down and swarmed you just spam stim button then run with extra stims if your lucky

    I don't know as someone who has used the scout armor extensively I feel like it's one of the few armors that allows you to actually leave combat.
    Say the scenario is your stratagem are on cooldown, and you have a ton of enemies on you.
    Scout armors speed, increased stamina, an ability to duck behind a rock and lose pursuers can get you out of combat.
    But how do the other armors help get you out of that situation?
    I also think the ping is very helpful checking locations so you don't get into that situation.
    I ping a stratagem jammer and see three dots? Easy.
    I ping it and see like four medium dots and eight small dots, not as easy.
    As for how often, I'm crouched or laying down, very frequently.
    If you're using something like the heavy machine gun and you're not laying down, I can understand why a person might think it's massive recoil makes it suck.
    If you're using a Marksman rifle and trying to hit something far away and you're not laying down to cancel the sway, I can see why people say they suck.

    Servo-Assisted generally makes sense since they're technically going by the fact that since the suit is, well, servo-assisted, it has that extra 'oomph' when throwing. The extra limb health probably represents the fact that there might be some bionics in there too, much like how the armors from the Steeled Veterans warbond show off. That passive with an autocannon increases ttk by a ton, because the only two things delaying damage are recoil and reloading. The 50% lethal blow perk is sooo leagues above everything else it’s not even close. As you were figuring out, it has 0 cool down and can proc multiple times in a row. It can also protect against fall damage and has 0 cap on how much damage in a single instance it can block. Not only does it help protect you from rockets (in my opinions about the same amount as the reduced explosives passive), but it can also keep you alive incase of any knock back damage you take from the stagger. I pretty routinely get way fewer deaths then anyone else in my lobbies and all that keeps you from death spiraling and keeps your active time high. Even on bugs it helps you stay alive against those last stalker swings as you’re trying to stim and it after a recent change, bile spew attacks tick their damage much less frequently so it can keep you alive somewhat consistently. Yes sometimes the 50% will proc and you’ll die just after before you can get enough heeling in through a stim, but an armor that reduces your deaths by almost half, keeping you active and stoping you from having to run back to grab your gear is so strong. Look at it like this, let’s say you would of died 4 times in a mission but the armor cut it down to 2. So between you waiting to respawn and running to grab your gear maybe the armor has saved you 2-4 minutes of up time. I don’t really think any armor outside of maybe the explosive damage reduction can generate as much value as you can while being alive for a few extra minutes. And that’s just assuming the run is going well. If you’re doing poorly the benefits stack more and more.

    • @someguyusa
      @someguyusa หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It is strong, but it diminishes in value as you improve your skill at managing your engagements and avoiding death scenarios in the first place. It's a perk that helps you when you mess up, but others benefit you constantly in a proactive way.

      @franpschorr3646 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@someguyusa yeah but it’s not like a normal perk that helps you when you’re losing that’s usually terrible in other games. If I ran a mission with 0 deaths (which is probably half the time on 7-8 difficulty and occasionally on 9) then I never needed any kind of bonus in the first place. None of the armors really help you clear the map faster outside of maybe the extra 2 grenades, but I think that since you don’t resupply more grenades the actual amount you get is very negligible. When you take the 50% perk you just never lose. Either you crushed the mission so hard that none of the perks would of made a difference, or if things wouldn’t go well, the armor can drastically increase your survivability and prevent a lose.

    • @someguyusa
      @someguyusa หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@franpschorr3646 Well, that's just patently false. The 2 more grenades is a 50% increase to grenades which can absolutely be game changing, and 30% recoil reduction is a major buff to automatic fire. Both of those can dramatically influence moment to moment performance. It's not even a question.
      The same can be said of +2 stims and stim duration.
      Sorry, dude, but your assessment and comparison here is extraordinarily bad. If you like Democracy Protects, then go wild. But there is zero way to justify the claim that the other perks do not benefit more proactively in very tangible ways.

    • @franpschorr3646
      @franpschorr3646 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@someguyusa Carrying capacity is not the same as total grenades. You only start and can hold 2 more grenades. You don't get a 50% (or 33% depending on how you look at it) increase to the amount of grenades you have all game. If you looked at two players (one with 6 grenade capacity and one with 4) the guy with 6 starting will probably throw more grenades but since you still only restock 2 grenades at a time in practice they kind of average out. It's still a good boost I just think people over value it. And any recoil reduction is almost meaningless. Maybe if the best weapons in the game had the most recoil but honestly almost every top tier weapon is either super manageable or basically a single shot weapon. All the machineguns are mid, the best assault rifle is a laser gun LITTERALY and has no recoil and the marksmen rifles are terrible. Plus crouching and going prone is almost always a terrible idea. Half the enemies in the game are melee so you're almost always better off moving away from them and there's very little waist high cover in the game it's mostly hills and tall objects that can hide your whole body. Same for extra stims. I like having them but 1. I almost never run out of stims anyways, and 2. You still just restock stims at the same rate so you really don't have a huge amount more. Honestly I almost think the extended heal is the most important part of stims because then you can kind of use them to brute for reloads and stratagems when your in a tight spot. But again, If you don't die you can't lose and cutting out half your deaths is the best way to reduce deaths. And as much as I love stun grenades, having a few more is never gonna make up the damage I can do if I just cut my deaths in half and don't have to waste so much time respawning and running back to get my weapons.

      Yeah I get what you are saying and it makes total sense. However, I stand by what I said in the video. When I don’t want to be seen or I need to avoid enemies I find it fairly easy to do regardless of what passive I am running. Going prone or staying crouched reduces detection a lot regardless of armor passive as well. Prime example I was running the servo passive the other day. I was working on a radar tower objective and I had patrols all around me. Between hitting the console and needing to rotate dish I crouched down while it was doing its thing. Never once was I seen by a patrol and they were fairly close.
      Again hard to quantify every situation but I have many experiences where the scout passive actually was handy and many where it felt like it didn’t help much. Just all a matter of perspective.
      Thanks for you comment and watching the video

    Extra padding for defense or fortified engenier for blitz decocrscy for helldive and med for the fun of it arch reduction for my friends (they love the ark thrower and real tower) that’s my ranking I will admit I only chose the best looking armor

    I went from med kit, to engineer, and finally to servo. Each perk i spent considerable time using... But MAN can i tell you that switching to an armor that didnt have the servo assist was incredibly difficult! That armor perk is the whole reason the 380 is my favorite strategem

      yep, that why i also using this armor. that feeling when u throw 380 in middle of nest/farbrication and u can saftly go away to other mission, and then u can little later back to finish all

    The electrical conduit perk should be able to run full speed in ems strikes or mortars

    Also, the good players crouch all the time. You get huge recoil reduction, why wouldn’t you do this all the time? It’s not like it takes an extra time, you just gotta remember to do it.

    I think extra padding is generally underrated, especially on a medium armor. It may look "boring" since it doesn't suit any specific build or playstyle (like stealth ecc) but it's good in any situation regardless the mission or we are fighting bots/bugs even at helldive difficulty. Especially with the patches that came out along the months. Let's take the standard armor we begin with. We basically have a medium speed/stamina regen with on top an heavy armor. With a 5-6% of damage reduction (10-12% on heavies and 0% on light armors). Plus every armor with more than 100 HP benefit of an extra protection against headshots. The result is being way way more resistent against any kind of damage (including headshots) compared to light armors (but also other medium armors) without being a sitting duck like with heavy armors. If with your team you add the vitality and the stamina boosters you really obtain the top of survivavility (at the cost of not having situational perks). S tier in my opinion.

    The recoil reductions only handy when you’re using the support weapons a lot

    I only use superstore Light Gunner. Light armor with extra padding (+50 armor), no movement penalties.

    The second someone in the team takes the Booster that increases limb health, the limb health armor passive becomes obsolete.
    These effects don't stuck. And that's why that armor passive is on of the most useless ones, because most teams of 4 will run the extra limb health booster because it greatly increases survivability.

      Vitality Enhancement reduces the damage u and ur team take by a lot its a must have!
      Servo-Assisted only increases ur limb health nothing else and the increase to throwing range.
      Only Electrical Conduit is a worse skill.

      @@MutedAndReported3032 You're basically losing half of that armor passive....that's why we feel like it makes it less viable.

      @@Hirens. Fair enough, but the throwing distance is a huge part of this passive. It’s what makes it so good in many players’ eyes

    30% recoil was tested and it appearantly doesnt just apply to crouch and prone but overall does. I am MG and AMR main so its invaluable to me, the Stalwart is a borderline Laserbeam with it.
    And Explosive resistance is dope, Rocket Devastator are a joke 9 time out 10.

    As a Servo user I can't use anything else. The ultimate distance creating passive. You don't have to come close for throws, plus whenever those damn Hunter come up to you the extra limb health basically makes it impossible for you to break any bones

    The scout passive isn’t for avoiding detection, it’s for disengaging. It’s far easier to disengage and put enemies into the search state without breaking los with the scout armor.

    Democracy protects is S teir. Calling it a noob item because it stops you from dying can be said for the shield backpack as well.
    Everyone’s biggest complaint about the dark fluid major order was how difficult it was along with bad bug spawns. Maybe if more Helldivers wore one of the two armor pairs that offer it, the mission wouldn’t have been so difficult for everyone
