THE GREATEST ROBIN MOVIES

  • The greatest Robin movie(s) ever made.
The story of the boy who lived and died a boy wonder and returned a rogue ---- Jason Todd.
The once Robin turned Red Hood returns to Gotham City looking to even the score with all those who've wronged him.
    ____________
Taking a look at what I believe is the greatest Batman and Robin movie ever made--- maybe more so Robin than Batman.
Batman : Under The Red Hood.
The evolution of the character going from heroic sidekick to vengeful anti-hero.
This whole movie is just a character study of the second Robin , Jason Todd.
We watch the character go from boy to man--- as he looks to take on his old friend / new foe.
Can The Dark Knight defeat The Former Boy Wonder --- or will he come to regret those trainings ?
This is the life, death, and resurrection of both Jason Todd and Red Hood.
    ---------------
Batman : A Death In The Family is one of the most important Batman comics ever made.
A graphic novel that left the fate of The Boy Wonder in the hands of readers.
Fans got to vote whether or not the second Robin , Jason Todd was to live or die at the hands of The Joker.
Now that same decision is in the hands of viewers of this interactive movie.
    Will Jason live or die?
If Jason lives ... how will he live?
    Who will he become?
This interactive movie takes inspiration from several of the greatest Batman comics and movies ever made ( such as Under The Red Hood, The Killing Joke, and obviously Death In The Family )

Grayson got older. You could easily recognize people you barely crossed paths with growing up. He still interacts with Batman, and his masks barely covers his face(get a god damn cowl)
Plus, Joker got ultimate bragging rights here, he would tell EVERYONE what happened. Like getting one over on someone in prison.

I think villians figured out Jason was a new Robin because Dick was probably in his late teens before becoming knightwing, and then suddenly Robin is a 12 year old again, so obviously it couldn’t be the same person. And also I feel like the mask under the mask thing was done by Jason specifically to have an effect on Bruce during their confrontation.

I also love how different Bruce reacts to Jason in the dilapidated apartment. In the comic, he feels like he can't take responsibility for the incident, avoiding eye contact. In the movie he does take responsibility, making eye contact and legitimate responding. In the comic, he feels like a man who knows he should kill the joker, but can't let go of the one thing of his parents he had left.

In the comics it was quite simple. Robin, an unpowered master fighter and strategist with black hair and a domino mask was the leader of the Teen Titans. Then Robin was replaced as leader by Nightwing, an unpowered master fighter and strategist with a domino mask.

If they are using the continuity from the comics, full-grown Dick Grayson was Robin when he was the leader of the Teen Titans. He later changed to Nightwing (while still being leader of the Titans). Later Batman has a new kid Robin. It would be easy to piece together that he was the original Robin.

People know because the supervillains know their enemies, and loudly and frequently call out new identities and replacements.
Their henchmen therefore learn of it, and it makes its way through the grapevine.
Nightwing in particular was leading the Teen Titans when he made the transition, so anyone who knows the Titans' members, or even just its leader, could reasonably figure out what happened, especially since he still uses the same persona (kind of doesn't have one) and skill set.
Another source would be the GCPD, many of whom see Batman and the rest often enough to tell who they are in a new identity (or the heroes tell them).
    Besides, no one's a teenager for 15 - 20 years, and it went from 17 - 18-year-old Dick to 12 - 14-year-old Jason. Obviously a different person.

17:20 I think the Robin to nightwing can be explained like this Robin is young when we first meet him it changes with every version but let’s just say he’s 11 when he becomes Robin, he then is Robin for years (criminals see Robin is growing up based on time/height) he later becomes nightwing and Jason becomes Robin, Robin is now a young boy again while there is a new hero nightwing whom constantly shows up when Batman needs it, my guess is the news broadcasters put that together and probably were like “what if nightwing is Robin” I can see it now 😂

21:03 Remember that a few minutes later, he takes Batman to Joker (although I know Joker doesn't care about Batman's secret identity, I think that's why), and tbh I also think it is because Jason, as Robin, is "Batman's greatest failure"(as many describe him) which why the mask, because he was wearing it when he died and wanted Bruce to remember that.

I think all of the changes they made from the comic were really, really good choices. Imagine trying to explain the whole "Superboy Prime punched the universe and it brought him back to life" or whatever since that's probably the biggest outright change. It would just be too much. Instead they used something most more casual fans are familiar with (Ra's and the Lazarus Pit) and in doing so (and casting a great actor to play Ra's), it made something that could have been nonsensical into something that made sense, fit the tone and added something to the movie. The stuff they dropped was all stuff that would have added more runtime without adding story that mattered too. In fact if I'm being honest, as a Jason fan, I kind of wish the movie version was the comic version cause now it feels like the original comic version has "padding" that drags a bit when I go back to it even though that's probably not true.
Also, I really enjoyed Jensen Ackles as Jason and Bruce Greenwood as Robin. I can still hear Jason saying "Doing it because - because he took me away from you" when he explains why he's upset that Bruce didn't kill Joker, and Bruce at the end going "This doesn't change anything. It doesn't change anything at all." I would easily put this movie on the same level as the best of the BTAS or JLU episodes.

For criminals knowing the first Robin became Nightwing, my understanding was always that after the initial falling out between Bruce and Dick, Dick just kind of left to do his own crime fighting in Bloodhaven and kind of just was Robin there for a short time until his persona evolved into Nightwing as he grows as a young man and hero. The criminals who know of Batman and Robin would obviously notice Robins departure from Gotham to the nearby Bloodhaven without the Bat himself tagging along and common sense would lead them to assume Robin in fact became Nightwing as there aren't exactly that many heroes there, along with a new and younger Robin showing up at Batmans side back in Gotham. Granted this is simply conjecture as I'm no comics expert, but this is all to my understanding of the basics of Dick Graysons journey from Robin to Nightwing. I could be wrong and admittetly some of this is colored by the Teen Titans/Young Justice stories/shows.

usually people figure out who nightwing and the others are through how old they are, and sometimes robin is in blüdhaven before ever becoming nightwing. it also feels like they wanted to get rid of nightwing because he was out of the story around the same time, but realized they didn’t have anything, but i feel like what was used was fine as he was also used as a way to see how cold and separated batman became with him being quick to leave everyone behind to stay a step ahead so no one has the risk of dying aside from him. even though dick is competent and helpful, bruce didn’t want him involved because of jason.

  • @luisz222
    @luisz222 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

The difference between live action and animation and had much more impact when it comes to red hood. In Titans (which I’m probably one of the only people who actually kind of loved the show despite the inaccuracies) Jason Todd is around 19 and in the comics and animation he is much younger when he dies. He’s still a kid which makes it so much darker and sad to experience his death. When you have a robin who is 16 at most die it’s much more impactful cause Bruce essentially became his father very early in his life so he’s responsible for showing and explaining various aspects of life. Your brain isn’t fully developed yet so Batman had the responsibility to parent him the right way making him directly responsible for the way he acts at least partly. That’s what makes his eventual death more tragic and Bruce’s guilt that much more understandable. In Titans he’s 19 so he’s had 18 years of life experience. Sure bruce took him in but he was almost an Adult anyways. With Dick in Titans Bruce adopted him much earlier and making Bruce the person that made Dick the way he is. I heard some people say that Jason sucked in Titans especially pre red hood but I think that was the point. Jason was never a great robin in the comics and anywhere else. He was always jealous of how Bruce favored Dick and way too cocky. I think Titans nailed that aspect of Jason. Jason as Robin was a failure and always meant to be a cautionary tale for Batman. Jason is meant to be Red Hood and when he is Red Hood that is his true self.

Mask or no mask Robin looks the exact same when he turns into Nightwing because he's already a full grown adult I mean for fuck's sake Robin becomes a little kid again while this other hero who fights just like the old Robin shows up in teams up and seems to have a history with Batman it's not exactly hard to put two and two together and everyone knows the second Robin died because Robin hasn't been seen in a while and there's no third Robin I mean hell I even knew when I was a tiny child that Nightwing was the first Robin because he looks like Robin and that was before I learned their names

People figure out that there are multiple robins and what personas they take after the role because they understand that kids don't stay kids forever. No one is thirteen for six years straight. So when a new robin shows up and a new hero with the same voice, appearance, personality, and fighting style of the old robin shows up, people put two and two together because they have common sense. Some of us don't make that connection because time in the real world doesn't pass the same as it does in comic books. I mean hell a string of five days in comics can last up to three years worth of comics. Just look at the Dressrosa arc in One Piece. All that went down in like one day but lasted five or so years for us in the real world. So for us there is a disconnect that in-universe characters don't have.

I always thought Nightwing's akwarness was to show how hard is he trying to show and feel that he is Batman's equal now, he wants to be treated with more respect but Batman just don't care

that death in the family movie is the future of movies after theaters become obsolete. It wouldn't be smart to open new theaters and just let the ones that are open fade and close.

In about 4 generations the fidelity of reality and stuff like unreal engine will be no different so actors doing voice work or licensing their likeness a and AI voice to do computer animated features will save money and having a standard narrative by the filmmakers and a choose your own adventure for the kids

Apparently dick Grayson's fighting style is so recognizable that most supervillains can tell who he is. For example in the Comics after battle for the cowl Two-Face watching a video of Batman (which was Dick Grayson at the time) fight and just watching the fight he deduced it was Dick Grayson.

I like how this movie kinda of took the ‘No Kill Rule’ of Batman and played around with it.
Batman doesn’t kill,But that lead to Jason dying.
Batman doesn’t kill,But he Still trues to save Jason…who became a murderer
Batman didn’t killed the Joker but He fantasizes about it
Batman Doesn’t Kill But when he is given the choice of either Saving the Joker by Killing Jason or Let the Joker die.Bruce immeadiatly threw the Joker under the bus and Left him for dead by jasons hand.
I think that by not breaking but playing atound woth the consept imade the movie that much more interesting than Batman just Whining for Jason to not kill People(Well…He kinda of did but still)
And just Save the Joker for no explainable reason.

    1. We’ll figuring out the Robins are different ppl isn’t that hard Actually ! For Example ! Batman & Robin been kicking these criminals ass like Joker 2 Face penguin etc for years right at some point it’s like hey 12 years ago him & this 13 year old kid was breaking in our wear houses and meetings beating us up & locking us up well now he has another 13 yr old kid 10 or 12 yrs later there’s no way in hell he’s the same Kid. Well that kid gotta be grown now. Well now he runs with an adult man blue black tights he must’ve been that kid back then ! This new kid must be somebody Different ! Clearly It Becomes Common Sense After Awhile ! That’s how they figure it out eventually!
    2. This is a little more important ! In the comics or movies etc. Some ppl figure out Bruce is Batman well once they figure that out then figuring out Dick is Robin/Nightwing is easy AF. I mean like hey didn’t Bruce adopt that kid whose parents died in the circus years ago ! Yea that’s him Dick Grayson the age match that guy in the blue & black bird suit Nightwing right ! It’s Obvious !
Now as for everyone else it’s not that Obvious. If u look up Bruce public records well Jason died so you won’t think he’s Red Hood. On public records Barbra has a Father Jim Gordon so she won’t be associated with Bruce either. Same with Tim Drake cause he also had parents I’m not saying u can’t figure them out I’m just saying u have to the ground work yourself cause theirs won’t be as Obvious !

to admit it is weird that some random thug knows that nightwing used to be robin but i took it that word travels fast in gotham and if a robin they got beat up by for years got a new haircut and voice they would suspect somethings up and when night wing shows up with the same voice and haircut and the robin looks younger then when they last saw him theyed put it together that robin is a mantel like aint no one beliveing that damian is the same person as grayson the thugs and the rogues would deffinentley spott that the new robin is a different race age and CARRYS A SWORD!

Not related to this video but i just saw a tv show on tv thats based on batman. Its called BatWheels its basicly CarsXBatman. Could you maby do a video on that for once? I dont want to say too mutch but i personaly think its even worse then gotham knights. The caracters are nowhere near acurate. And i just saw the christmass episode and the batgirl car im asuming suposed to be barbera said she was horrible with computers and that she couldnt read maps... if that says anything about how inacurate the show is. Like i get its a tv show characters like Jason and damien cant be fully acurate but barbera being bad with computers? why, why make a show thats acying like it wants to be related to batman and then change sutch important character things.
