No joke I’ve seen this movie at least 500 time and can recite every dialogue in the movie. Don’t care if people think this is a bad movie. I grew up with this film and it was my first Bollywood obsession. It is still and will forever be my favourite Hindi movie.

This movie is like a entire era in itself. Fun fact every character became extremely popular after this movie and every character has its own fan following. Including all the teachers as well. Also, kareena kapoors character in kabhi Khushi kabhi gham was inspired by that lady teacher's character. And all the characters are extremely popular even today.

Before i started watching hollywood movies this type of movies looked normal but after i started watching hollywood these felt a little bit cringe and weird i think thats mainly because hollywood love stories are simple and plain like there is no masala in them. But these classics are still my fav these made my childhood super fun and taught me how to respect family and true emotions. But one thing for sure is indian movies are one of the reason why indians are more emotionally bound to their families and parterns. They taught us what true love is. U see the difference between achara and jaby?

Rani Mukerji is the only sane character in this movie. When everyone else is high on something she's the most real actor here. No overacting at all.
Omfg this is so true lol. While most of the characters were very loud and over the top in this movie, Rani played her role with so much subtlety. There was so much maturity in her performance at such a young age.

Man, this is my favourite Bollywood movie so far ( after having watched more than 200 Indian movies). I am not Indian, all the cringe and OTT acting usually makes me skip instantly, but this movie has something so special. Too many emotions. And it's starring my 3 favourite Indian actors/actresses.
BTW, Kajol is the best in this movie. Awesome presence.

Oh, the memories. I memorized all the songs, and even learnt to write Hindi coz of this movie. Not a single day passed without hearing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai theme song playing on the radio. This movie became the definition of Bollywood in Sri Lanka.

Okay it's not a big deal but just FYI, Rani Mukerjee has been the leading lady in many many many films and she's been together with SRK in multiple movies- Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (you should watch it tbh), Chalte Chalte, Paheli etc.
I actually like rani n shahrukhs pairing more ... they have like some genuine exchange of emotions which seem not very cinematic but very realistic like in Paheli

This was super fun, I just realized this movie was actually good. Loved the way Jaby laughed at Anupam Kher's antics. He used to regularly play comic roles in the 90s and always nailed it. Can't wait for the part 2.

Ultimately Karan johar took this role to Rani who was a newcomer that time and this movie changed her career! ❤️ Also, he used her original voice for the first time in her career as compared to other directors who never liked Rani's voice that time as they felt it was unusual and dubbed her always.

The cycling scene of kajol in kuch kuch hota hain in a group outdoors ended in mild accident. She fell down and was out for quite sometime, the whole team including karan johar were really worried.

And the child poisons him as revenge because an 8 year old who can destroy weddings has to be an evil genius. I think I was still eating my boogers at that age.

This movie was a hell of a cultural phenomenon. Actually most of the srk movies are. Like the trend of playing basketball popularly, gifting friendship bands on friendship day, like I have so many of them from my childhood 😂 and it was not even the 90s, it was like 10s, so you can understand the impact. Also the hair style and the tomboyish clothing of anjali became extremely popular.

The only thing I don't like about the movie is that they show that a woman has to change her dressing style in order to make people fall in love with her.

i think you misunderstood this thing here. actually she changed her dressing style because of her interest for him. she wanted to be liked by him, loved by him.. as far as he doesn't like girls who dress up like boys.. and it's absolutely ok for anyone to have different choices & desires.. and she did it only for him & not for others or society..
