This movie is like a entire era in itself. Fun fact every character became extremely popular after this movie and every character has its own fan following. Including all the teachers as well. Also, kareena kapoors character in kabhi Khushi kabhi gham was inspired by that lady teacher's character. And all the characters are extremely popular even today.
Fun fact those three characters and the college thing r all inspired from Archy comic book if u know there is show called revardell it's based that book too.

Before i started watching hollywood movies this type of movies looked normal but after i started watching hollywood these felt a little bit cringe and weird i think thats mainly because hollywood love stories are simple and plain like there is no masala in them. But these classics are still my fav these made my childhood super fun and taught me how to respect family and true emotions. But one thing for sure is indian movies are one of the reason why indians are more emotionally bound to their families and parterns. They taught us what true love is. U see the difference between achara and jaby?

Rani Mukerji is the only sane character in this movie. When everyone else is high on something she's the most real actor here. No overacting at all.
Omfg this is so true lol. While most of the characters were very loud and over the top in this movie, Rani played her role with so much subtlety. There was so much maturity in her performance at such a young age.

Man, this is my favourite Bollywood movie so far ( after having watched more than 200 Indian movies). I am not Indian, all the cringe and OTT acting usually makes me skip instantly, but this movie has something so special. Too many emotions. And it's starring my 3 favourite Indian actors/actresses.
BTW, Kajol is the best in this movie. Awesome presence.

This was super fun, I just realized this movie was actually good. Loved the way Jaby laughed at Anupam Kher's antics. He used to regularly play comic roles in the 90s and always nailed it. Can't wait for the part 2.
This movie is basically exact opposite of what happens in K3G because he chooses Rani over Kajol. KJo applied the rule of Karma to his own characters.

*Fun fact* : For this movie no actress wanted to do Rani Mukherji's role. Karan johar went to so many actresses but all rejected the role as they felt the audience wouldn't notice that character with Kajol and SRK's chemistry. Ultimately Karan johar took this role to Rani who was a newcomer that time and this movie changed her career! ❤️ Also, he used her original voice for the first time in her career as compared to other directors who never liked Rani's voice that time as they felt it was unusual and dubbed her always.

Since my crush (later high school boyfriend) knew this was my favorite movie, he used to call me up randomly just to inform me about the channel to tune into whenever this movie was aired. The cycling scene of kajol in kuch kuch hota hain in a group outdoors ended in mild accident. She fell down and was out for quite sometime, the whole team including karan johar were really worried.

This movie was a hell of a cultural phenomenon. Actually most of the srk movies are. Like the trend of playing basketball popularly, gifting friendship bands on friendship day, like I have so many of them from my childhood 😂 and it was not even the 90s, it was like 10s, so you can understand the impact. Also the hair style and the tomboyish clothing of anjali became extremely popular.
These watch alongs are so fun! Got me all nostalgic 🥺 glad to see you guys enjoy movies that defined my childhood 💜
They should make realistic remakes of 90's movies like Mohabbatein 2021 where Aryan is a schizophrenic who keeps seeing and talking to his dead girlfriend or KKHH 2021 where Aman nearly beats up someone else's child to death for destroying his wedding by being sneaky.
