One fact about this movie was that no actor was ready to play the role of Aman as it was against the top star Shahrukh. But, it was Salman who did the cameo role and even he did not take any remuneration for the role he played.

i think the reason why tina asked her daughter to be named "Anjali" was because of how important Anjali was to Rahul. Anjali gave up her best friend and love for Tina and as Anjali says in a scene, "I am Rahul's Best friend" when asked by Tina, shows how important she was to Rahul as well.

i'm Malaysian and i can say this movie is a staple for our people, everyone must have had watched it at least once in their lives (just like kabhi kushi kabhi gham). I grew up with these songs and to this day, the 90s bollywood movies' songs are still being played on the local radios
19:57 Waleska is right that they don’t make movies like this anymore. As an Indian, I also think that the Bollywood movies of 90’s and mid 2000’s were much better than most of the Bollywood movies today. I like the 90’s and mid 2000 movies of SRK, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan etc. The movies of these actors were so amazing and I am sad that there will be no movies like these anymore in Bollywood and no one can take place of these actors of 90’s and mid 2000’s.

30:55 this song with lamenting singing voice, and the contrast between the grey rainy day and the vibrant colours of their clothes, always gets me. it's just beautifully shot in my opinion, and makes you _feel_ the sorrow - even though we don't even know the character singing/pretending to sing, she's just there for that moment.
efra, rani is actually a REALLY good technical dancer. you should watch some of her good dance videos (everything from aaiyaa). also her comical timing/skills are impeccable. directors just don’t know how to use it properly 😩
Okay most of the people are misunderstood Rahul's character and calling him a red flag staight. I used to hate him as kid but now i understand his character pretty much. He was young guy who probably was a playboy but always had something different with Anjali which he didn't recognised but Tina did. But for Rahul he always saw Anjali as his best, and you know like with bestfriends you share mostly a sibling like bond where you tease eachother or compete with each other. So for him he never thought anything romantic with her. But with Tina he did and as we know he was kinda playboy, he been loyal for his love and never got back to his playboy self. And even after Tina's death he never looked for someone else. And here Tina knew that Rahul and Anjali share something more than just bestfriends but she still stepped in and she was guilty. People make Anjali look like a backup plan for Rahul but they forgot that he wasn't in a search of her , he was happy with the small happy family he had with the memories of Tina with him. And after 8 freaking years they met, it's natural to have some kind of different feelings you have after meeting you bestfriend after years. And those " different feelings" and Anjali's behaviour towards his daughter lead him to develop feelings for her and he fell for her. And about Anjali we can't blame her, once you fall for someone with all your heart. It's impossible to accept someone else even if it's Salman Khan 😂
You are 35 and still didn’t get matured. 1.Aman didn’t deserve a loveless marriage. 2.Anjali would have been guilty if she married Aman, while romancing with Rahul( hiding her engagement from him). 3."Payer ek bar hota hain, saadi vhi ek baar hota hain" is bullshit, your marriage can fail, your spouse can die, that doesn’t mean, you have to punish yourself, They deserve someone too, Aman deserve companion too, He deserve love too.Sometimes you can fall in love with someone or something you spend half of your life but never realise. 4.Rahul was never a bad guy, in College he was mischievous like most of us ( many of my own friends were like, haar ladki ko pataana chata tha, lekin ek bhi patti nehi, then in 3rd year, they truly fall in love, and never look at a girl other than their girl.( I saw Girls like him too, especially GenZs believe in trying out relationship thoroughly before commitment)
*Mujhse Dosti Karoge* is the next best watch! For a second I thought Efra can be a brilliant youtube Hindi Singer😂 and many will love to listen to him singing!
If u guys hate Aman then I'm sorry u didn't understand this movie at all. Aman was the only person who was selfless others all were selfish. This movie is mostly remembered for the songs and Aman(Salman Khan).

You're just going off of internet stereotypes, go outside and talk to real women, they have types. You can't generalise such a huge group of people. Aman lacks in nothing compared to Rahul and I prefer him. Also, men who call themselves "nice guys" tend to be the opposite.

And, as films used to run for several weeks back then (1950s onwards) as well as a staggered rollout/release strategy per territory/state, the soundtrack would have a long slow-burn rise to it's popularity and usually peak after the film's release and have a long shelf-life. [average song length in this era was around 3-minutes] 1960s: Bollywood-film magazines have always had a big market too, which was another channel of marketing. 1970s: Of course record store sales were massive right upto the early 2010s. Vinyl was huuuuuge in this era. 1980s: I think by the 80s songs became sooooo long, and yes I believe full songs would be played on the radio. This was certainly the case in the 90s. 1990s: Satelite cable TV had arrived and there were countless popular music-related shows, and several "TOP 20" type of countdown features where they would play the "music video" of the popular songs as well as new releases (rarely the full video, due to crazy lengths) 2000s: "Radio Edits" became a thing - especially because film songs usually had extended musical "breaks" after every verse (in order to spice up the video narrative aspect) 2020s: Today, much like in Western Popular music song lengths, (as well as our collective attention spans worldwide) have shrunk significantly, back down to 3 minutes, and this short video-clips being a big thing, often music composers have complained about having a brief of "just give us a catchy 30-second instagrammable viral-ready piece" from production companies. END 1:17:58 - I have been low-key begging for you to watch AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL for at least 2 years now, - it's Karan Johar's best work as a director (for me), as well as being his most mature and more realistic film, dealing with modern relationship dynamics and heartbreak, with barely a "family" member in sight, which is a strong theme for him usually, he leaps out of his usual tendencies. The performances are outstanding. The soundtrack is a modern classic. Cinematography by Anil Mehta too, a class act. And it's part-shot in London, AND there's an aspiring musician plot, so let's goooooo
Kuch² hota hai - is still my number 1 fav hindi movie to date. There were no 'waste' scence that not significant in the movie.I had watched the movie more than 20x ❤❤❤❤❤ next : Hum Sath Sath Hain or Mujse Dosti Karoge (Rani is 1 of the lead 😅)

Just curious.. The whole theory of "choose someone who loves you, not who you love" Why is this theory applicable only to anjali nd not to aman!? Coz clearly she never loved him nd he knew that also.. Wouldn't it be a compromise for aman as well to be with someone who's never gonna love him!?
Bro you didn't understand the movie ig.... Anjali was his best friend in college. He fell in love with tina was loyal to her and married her. After 8 yrs he somehow met Anjali while trying to look for his daughter and fell in love romantically with Anjali. Who knows if tina didn't come to their college... He and Anjali would have been together and married without any look transformation. That's what I think. I don't think it's about the look. He used to flirt with all those girls not only tina but it was the song the gayatri mantra... it was that moment when he must have started seeing as that person. That's why he bent his head in front of her it's not a small thing to do. So it's not him falling in love only cause she was hot. Nowadays everybody is making fun of the movie for no reason. It's a good 90's movie I think.
Bro , think he spent whole 2 years with Anjali in college before Tina arrives but then also he didn't love her ,but in summer camp of 2 months love developed😂😂 don't be naive
@@Demon-king0000 Anjali was also with him for two years but didn't fell in love with him or saw him romantically. It was not only Rahul, Both of then never saw each other like that. For Anjali it was the moment when he said Love is friendship after that only she started feeling romantically towards him. Rahul never had any such moment with her and also till that time tina was already there now and started his flirty thing and both of them fell in love. When he saw Anjali again after so many yrs guess what she was also singing a prayer. It was not only looks that was changed her personality also changed a lot after time. Maybe they could have done better to show him falling for her ig. Maybe I am wrong 🙆♀️ it's okay. It's a guilty watch movie for me with nostalgia and good music.
Lol... nobody understood Anjali & Rahul then 😂 They used to love each other even during college...but NEVER realised it. The moment Anjali realised her feelings, Tina came between them. That's why during that train scene, Tina said that if she didn't come during that time, Anjali & Rahul would have surely realised their love for each other. She came between them. Rahul never got a chance to acknowledge his feelings. And Anajali didn't became hot...she became more gorgeous & feminine with time.
In India for a lot of poorer people these films provided 3 hours of pure fantasy and fun and forget their worries and realities. The long songs provided that fun and dance and enjoyment. And the grandeur and locations added to the viewing pleasure. And many of these people would come back and re-live these moments and enjoy these songs in the Theater over and over.
If you love Rani Mukerjee that much,,, then you should watch her movie like Black, Mardaani, No one killed jesica, Aiyaa, Chalte chalte, Saathiya, Bunty aur babli, Hichki etc....

i'm Malaysian and i can say this movie is a staple for our people, everyone must have had watched it at least once in their lives (just like kabhi kushi kabhi gham).
Bajrangi bhaijaan is a great movie, it’s emotional, fun, a comedy, romantic and all over amazing. You guys should totally react to it
Salmans best performance
Efra you have great taste with Rani as Tina! I think Rani looked incredibly beautiful in her prime & nobody could have done the role of Tina as well as she did! Plz react to MUJHSE DOSTI KAROGE 😊

Yea...✨ Mohabbatein✨
Hope their next musical is 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai'.
Love that movie too

I'm watching this movie in middle school until now i am 35 years old and still thought that anjali should choose aman than rahul😐😐
Ditto
I'm 35 too btw

Aman the real green flag❤
He is always like 😂😂 enna sona kyu rab ne banaya😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
i did not expect this at all. but what a pleasant surprise. cheers guys!
Girls saying they would never have picked Rahul over aman are cappin cuz they don’t pick the nice guy irl😂also Rahul and anjali were always meant to get together, Tina just got in the way. Sexual attraction is a real thing lmao, he did have feelings for anjali in college just didn’t realise it cuz he wasn’t attracted to her at the time
You're just going off of internet stereotypes, go outside and talk to real women, they have types. You can't generalise such a huge group of people. Aman lacks in nothing compared to Rahul and I prefer him. Also, men who call themselves "nice guys" tend to be the opposite.

In those times, the songs used to come as audio cassettes. The whole OST album will be in a cassette. That not only promoted the film but the producers will get the money selling those audio cassettes.

1:14:28 - Great question...
1940s: Yes, films songs have been played on the radio as a promotion strategy for a film, pre-release. And, as films used to run for several weeks back then (1950s onwards) as well as a staggered rollout/release strategy per territory/state, the soundtrack would have a long slow-burn rise to it's popularity and usually peak after the film's release and have a long shelf-life. [average song length in this era was around 3-minutes]
1960s: Bollywood-film magazines have always had a big market too, which was another channel of marketing.
1970s: Of course record store sales were massive right upto the early 2010s. Vinyl was huuuuuge in this era.
1980s: I think by the 80s songs became sooooo long, and yes I believe full songs would be played on the radio. This was certainly the case in the 90s.
1990s: Satelite cable TV had arrived and there were countless popular music-related shows, and several "TOP 20" type of countdown features where they would play the "music video" of the popular songs as well as new releases (rarely the full video, due to crazy lengths)
2000s: "Radio Edits" became a thing - especially because film songs usually had extended musical "breaks" after every verse (in order to spice up the video narrative aspect)
2020s: Today, much like in Western Popular music song lengths, (as well as our collective attention spans worldwide) have shrunk significantly, back down to 3 minutes, and this short video-clips being a big thing, often music composers have complained about having a brief of "just give us a catchy 30-second instagrammable viral-ready piece" from production companies.
END
1:17:58 - I have been low-key begging for you to watch AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL for at least 2 years now, - it's Karan Johar's best work as a director (for me), as well as being his most mature and more realistic film, dealing with modern relationship dynamics and heartbreak, with barely a "family" member in sight, which is a strong theme for him usually, he leaps out of his usual tendencies. The performances are outstanding. The soundtrack is a modern classic. Cinematography by Anil Mehta too, a class act. And it's part-shot in London, AND there's an aspiring musician plot, so let's goooooo
hzhahahahahahahahahaha the timestamps are hilarious!

Just curious.. The whole theory of "choose someone who loves you, not who you love"
Why is this theory applicable only to anjali nd not to aman!? Coz clearly she never loved him nd he knew that also.. Wouldn't it be a compromise for aman as well to be with someone who's never gonna love him!?

And this movie is perfect example of how man love hot girl ignore tomboy girl , when she became hot then love her , it is all about looks 😂😂😂
Rahul falls in love romantically in summer camp tho, he loves tina and loyal with her 😊
Bro you didn't understand the movie ig....
Lol... nobody understood Anjali & Rahul then 😂
They used to love each other even during college...but NEVER realised it.
So Kuch Kuch Hota Hai means “something happens” (in the heart). Also Anjali’s family is already rich she was not marrying him for money.
Loved every bit of Efra going crazy over Rani lol she’s crazy beautiful!
Never get bored watching this movie even after 20 years more later.
