Fun Fact: This movie was critical for Amitabh Bachchan sir, as it marked the successful transition of the actor from the "sole hero" role to a "character-driven artist" role. This movie was the first major success for Amitabh Bachchan sir after his financial failures (when his company ABCL went belly up and Amitabh Sir lost millions in the loan disputes), and his film failures (Laal Baadshah, Hindustan Ki Kasam, Mrityudaata and so on) as well in the 1997-1999 period.
This movie set the stage for Amitabh sir to gracefully transition away from the "lead hero" roles to a "senior character artist" type roles, which stabilized his career and made him successful in the industry again.

@@linkbombchu168Naah. If they do senior type characters, Bollywood at its current state is destined to be doomed as there are no lead heroes to replace them. Just like Tom cruise and Brad Pitt in Hollywood, Bollywood still need them to make people come to the theatres.
@@MadHatter0361 that's arguebly also because new talent doesn't get a chance to emerge. If a pool of fresh 20-25 year old actors came to the scene and were given good movies. No doubt the audience would appeal much more to the youthful new actors than the same old 50-60 year olds of the past 3 decades
Jaby, this movie you should have watched with Achara. This is the second movie directed by Aditya Chopra, first one was the iconic DDLJ.

This excellent (for its own time period) movie deserves Achara and Steph Sabra. I think Achara and Steph would actually able catch essence of this movie much better and thus made the reaction episodes much heart whelming.
Thank you so much for this Jaby!! I kinda wish Achara or Steph could have been here because they're more familiar with Bollywood and might've enjoyed it more, but hopefully Carolina enjoyed it too. I know that some parts of the movie can be kind of cringe, but I honestly believe that this is one of SRK's most grounded performances. Even when he was his bubbly self in the beginning of the movie, he was nowhere near as overreacting as some of his other movies. I love this entire movie, but my favorite parts are SRK's scenes with Amitabh and his monologues, especially the one at the end. He just never fails to impress me with how well he can cry on cue and act not only dialogue wise, but also just with his eyes. I could just go on and on about how much I love this movie ❤

I have watched this movie so many times now that every time it's on TV and I linger a bit, my mom puts TV on mute and says to me "you already know all the dialogues by heart, why play the sound?" 😂 And still I watch it over and over again lol

I love how in this movie, the male leads are the ones who are in tune with their emotions and show the girls how love is supposed to feel like. Usually it's the opposite, I guess.

I feel like this movie would've been so much better if they'd kept the fact that his girlfriend is dead a secret. They should've kept the story about the headmaster's daughter but not mentioned her lover (it's not farfetched since most Indians will never tell you the reason their child committed suicide). It would've been an insane plot twist if SRK kept meeting his girlfriend like he does in the movie and we only find out at the end that she's the principal's dead daughter. Ofcourse some would've made the connection but it would've been more fun.

Fun fact: Amitabh Bachchan was 57 when Mohabbatein released... SRK is 57 in Pathaan.

Another classic this movie was the HYPE when it released specially the confrontation scenes between AB and SRK and the fact that 6 new comers were launched at one time out of which ALL failed with just Jimmy shergill getting some sort of success
I wish he had reacted with Achara because these old movies are too bollywood for average American taste. Jaby and Achara knows how stuff are, so they would've been a better choice to react, very happy with the choice of film nonetheless.

This movie is my guilty pleasure. I was literally obsessed with it when it first came out and I was only 7 then 😝🤩
Even though it's heavily inspired from Dead Poet's Society, still Aditya Chopra's direction coupled with SRK and Bachchan's acting, made this so watchable and a memorable film for us.
This is not watchable at all such a boring movie

T he first ever glasses i had after i got a minus power ,i chose a frame which is exactly like the one srk wearing, that's a wonderful memory i have of this movie, being a student of class 8/9 we start having these feeling of love , this movie made me understand how beautiful love is. u don't need the person to love them💖💖

oo "marjawa gud kha ke" which in subtitles is "eat sugar and die" is basically a punjabi proverb type of thing which when loosly translated is that - I feel so many emotions (happy, excited, etc) that I may die even after eating sugar or sweet.
Gud (sugar here) is basically jaggery.

*Welcome* is one of the most iconic Hindi comedies, it should be watched by JABY. And probably Achara too. As much as I like Syntell and Andrew, the iconic stuff needs to be watched by the pillars of the channel.

I brought up this idea because last time Andrew and Achara did a reaction to Slayy Point’s travel video on their journey to Paris, and they saw a part of the video where Gautami was holding a picture of Majnu Bhai’s “Rocking Horse” painting and Andrew mentioned “Is that a reference from a movie that I haven’t seen yet?” And Achara’s response was probably. So I even commented on their video, calling out to Andrew that since he enjoyed Anil Kapoor in The Night Manager series, he will enjoy him more when he does movie reaction to Welcome 2007 movie, and yes better partner for the reaction is none other than Syntell, because I am 100% sure he and Andrew will die laughing over the on screen antics pulled by Anil, Nana, Akshay and many other actors within the movie, just like they did for Munna Bhai MBBS movie 😁👌🏻
