A very Phil Andersonesq turning, Andy. I love that you kept the "chainsaw marks" in the piece. I love it.
Hi Ccwoodandcraft...
Haha... I was also thinking about Phil whilst making this one...
Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad that you liked it...
Take care my friend and all the best from Andy
Amazing piece, the contrast from spalting to the plain colour is great and I love the little hole and flat spots, well done Andy.
All the best to you.

Oh lovely bowl, Andy, who would have thought this piece of firewood had so much life in it 😉😂 Perfect breakfast cereal bowl, guaranteed non-overflow, pour as much milk as you wish 😂👍🏻 Seriously, lovely grain, and could also be used as a TV bowl for M&Ms with handy one by one dispenser function… Seriously 😂👍🏻 Have a lovely Sunday, enjoy the dry spell, Andy (although did not sound all that dry at the beginning of the video…) Cheerio 👋🏻😉👋🏻 Jude
Hi Jude...
Thank you...

I think that I like the idea of the TV bowl best for M&M's... peanut ones are my favourite 😋

Interestingly, some of the small bowls I have made from scrap size pieces have been my favorites. Spalted wood can be a pain to work with, but rewarding to do so. Very nice results on your small treasure turning! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 P.S. still love the rain on the roof.
Hi Valerie...
I totally agree with you about spalted wood...

Hello Andy I hear you've got the rain just like us here in Scotland 😂😂. The wood is lovely it's got spalting and nice grain it may be pluky but it is awesome. The end result is magnificent I love the look of the bowl. You turned that well considering you don't do bowls often. You must be proud of this the lovely bowl. Take care, stay warm and stay safe all the best Amanda xx

Lovely little bowl Andy, never be another one like that. I just turned a holy bowl myself, I'll send you a pic. Nice and warm where I am, southern Spain, was turning yesterday in a T shirt, cant believe it in February, we usually have loads of rain about now but none in the forecast. Love to Cornwall.
Hi Colin...
Thank you so much...
Yes, every piece is completely different...
Southern Spain sounds idyllic... I could do with a bit of sun right now...
Wind and rain here...
Thanks again for the photos... Great stuff...

The mortise chisel works like a bedan.
Hi Gary...
I hadn't heard of the bedan, so I looked it up and it's almost identical except the bedan is used upside down to the way I have been using my mortise chisel...
I will have a go using it as a bedan is used...
Thank you for your input...

Nice job Andy! Spalted wood is a pain to work with sometimes, but is so pretty in the end! Its been rainy here too. Over 2" has fallen in the past week. But we have been in a drought, so, its needed. 😎❤✌
Hi Dave...
Thank you so much...
Spalted wood is becoming one of my favourites ..
Well I'm glad that the rain is doing some good after your drought...

@@AndysCornishCreations im in the S.E. corner, and the weather is pretty odd this season for sure. Its the middle of winter, but temps have been in the high 60°F to low 70°F range the last several days. Im not complaining.....I do not like ice and snow!
Really nice, Andy. That spalting looks like you spent a lot of time doing a custom paint job. Paint still couldn't match nature, though.
Bill
Hi Bill...
I'm glad that you liked it...
I know what you mean, it looks too good to be real...
This was the nicest spalted wood that I have turned...
I did a top hat for a gonk with the leftover piece, and that is just as nice ...
Take care my friend and all the best from Andy
It really is a beautiful bowl! Amazing what can happen when a piece of wood is left exposed to the elements. I like that you left the natural character of the wood in the bowl, allowing it to become a work of art. Thank you, Andy, take care. 😊
Hi Gwynn...
I totally agree with you, I think that spalted wood is becoming my favourite type of wood to turn..
You just never know what it will look like inside...
Take care my friend and all the best from Andy
