Those birds are cute as hell!! Make 1 big one about 4 inches tall, and 2 little ones about 2 inches tall, have them together on a shelf as a Mommy and two Babies!! My wife, daughter, and grand daughter will love them!! Could buy some plastic feathers to stick out the back as a tail!

It's a cute little winter bird fluffing up its feathers to stay warm! A group of them sitting on a branch in a snow scene would be perfect for Christmas. 🎄 It's amazing how simple shapes can come alive with eyes and a beak. Thank you for this wonderful turning idea! 😊

Adorable! I love when you make these little fellows. Definitely going to use up my small leftover scrap pieces of wood to make several of these. just be careful.. light cuts and don't get the head jammed between the toolrest and the wood...

Great job Andy! It reminds me of the little birdy salt and pepper shakers my mom had when I was a kid. Wouldnt be that tough to make them into shakers, I suppose!😎❤👍

Yes .. a little hollowing, a bung in the bottom and a hole at the top and you would have a cute bird shaker..

I just hope it turns out better than the other little guy I did,he ended up hiding behind the photo frame too ashamed to show himself after the not so nice comments made by my wife.

What a lovely little project! I would love a closer look at that sharpened spanner though -- seems like a really neat tool. Did you sharpen it on the same grinder you use for your chisels?
