    I've always been a fan of Jimmy Jackson, even as a Michigan fan.
    Dude was a str8 baller. Really wanted to see him have more success while he was playing. Really appreciate this candid interview 100%. Definitely appreciate him as a broadcaster as well.

    Played against Jim Jackson in high school and he owned us, he hit for 42 points, Toledo Macomber vs Lorain high....he went on to greatness at thee' Ohio State buckeyes

    Having been a fan of the Mavs since basically Day 1, even went to school with the old GM Norm Sonju's son David and played soccer with him, I go back to Derek Harper, Rolando Blackmon, Sam Perkins, Brad Davis, Mark Aguirre, James Donaldson, Detlef Schrempf. So of course I was hyped about Jamal, Jason & Jimmy and couldn't understand why it didn't work out.

    I was in my late teens when JJ came into the league and when T. Braxton was a huge popstar; I'm glad he told us the true story of that whole sitiation. Also, I would love to hear more behind the scenes stories from former nba pros. Lastly, the rest of the panel needs to STFU when a former Pro is telling you a great story.

    All these years I was asking my self why 90's Mavericks didn't work, why they traded them all and I never heard anything about Toni Braxton. It was diffrent times, no internet, news were coming much slower from USA to Europe, but it's really sad they destroyed very talented young team.

    Man I'm glad that I got a chance to hear Jim Jackson share what really went down! The Triple J's were no joke and I just KNEW that team was gonna change the league. So to finally learn that all of what I thought was facts were speculations on TOP of speculations is just WILD!
    JJ had one of the most dynamic games that would translate in any era. I'm glad that he got a chance to speak on this uninterrupted in long-form what happened. Nowadays, Jackson's a talented sports broadcaster that shares great insights and analysis. But prior to this youtube vid, whenever I would see Jim Jackson..my first immediate thought would be: Damn, Toni Braxton really did a number on that team!
    Now I know better!

    The Toni Braxton rumor put to rest straight from the horses mouth. I was in high school back then & that rumor was everywhere, all of music publications & sports magazines. We had to actually go to the grocery store or book stand to get our "tweets" lllol.

    Jim Jackson, Kidd and Mashburn were all having fantastic seasons before Jackson got hurt. He was averaging 26 pts a game and well on his way to being an all star. After his injury he wasn't the nearly same. The explosiveness and lift that he had was gone and his play fair or not seemed more cautious in years following imho. Roy Tarpley's career is the greatest "what if" in Mavericks franchise history. Jim Jackson's is the second. Imvho.

    Great to hear from Jim Jackson... I grew up watching the Fighting Illini in the 80s/90s, remember Jim Jackson, Ricky Dudley, and crew. He's a good storyteller and needs his own show!

    Magnificent insight on the ability to handle adversity. You could see he was affected emotionally about the injuries and where it put his career. Amazing college player and a true definition of what a professional is. Good segment and excellent segue into a much-needed discussion about mental health.

    Jim Jackson was that dude...see there was a time when Big Ten basketball was the GOAT conference next to Big East. 1991-1994 (Fab 5, Big Dog, Shawn Respert, Jackson and Funderburke, Finley at Wisconsin, Willie Burton at Gophers) and Jim Jackson was that deal. Back then things was just left unsaid for the most part. And to be honest. That's not a bad rumor to be a part of...😂😂😂

    He played for the Rockets as one of his 12 teams. He was so consistent and could shoot the 3. Never had to worry about JJ on the floor. Total team guy too that could do it all!

    This was an amazing segment. I always had such high hopes for those Mavericks. I did the same thing to my left ankle in '96 playing basketball. Once you do it the first time your ankle is never the same.
