    Hi Jackie, good to see you back in You Tube land. What a year you have had! I began following your channel during the pandemic as I sought out financial advice. But as the years have gone on, I have found that some of your experiences have mirrored my own. Diagnosed w ADHD back in 2013, I had the awakening of how life changing it is to be finally diagnosed, educated and treated for this complex condition. I struggled for years with doctors that couldn't agree on whether or not I could go back to Adderall. It's true that you have to be your own health advocate at all times. I had not given much thought to my constant fussing with my scalp until I heard you mention it. All to say, I'm very happy that you have come through this difficult time, maintained a fulfilling job, and learned so much around the way. I hope you will still have time to make videos-they are meaningful. Best of luck to you 😀

    Here's a tip with Vyvanse and other Amphetamines. Having alkaline PH urine keeps the med working longer. Acidic urine excretes the meds faster. I was having issues with Vyvanse wearing off too soon. Lasting only about 5 hours, when it's marketed to last up to 12. So I researched about this and got Litmus paper testing strips for Urine. And sure enough, I had very acidic urine. I easily fixed this by having a tsp of baking soda in water in the morning when I take Vyvanse. (of course, I don't do this when/ or after eat because that weakens stomach acid). I also tried Potassium Bicarbonate, which is less sodium, and that also helped.

      This is great thx. My Dr did say not to eat/drink anything with vitamin C an hr before or after taking it. Didn't think about checking the urine itself for acidity.

    One suggestion you read all over the internet with Vyvanse...eat a protein rich breakfast with your medication. So the effects last longer over the day. A week ago I started with 30mg Vyvanse and while its not perfect, it already helps in some ways like concentration and calming my mind. Now I try to drink a protein shake each morning. And in a month I will upper the dosage to 50mg with my Doc. 👌
    Btw...thanks for the video! 🙏

      I also wanted to add - to get thru these times of depression I have found that helps is to surround myself around people who make me feel good and situations that make me feel good. Like spending time with family or doing things you love.

    I had to go to extended release Adderall because of the Vyvanse shortage, but I live in Western North Carolina so who knows after taking Vyvanse for five years and having really good success with the extended release Adderall is not bad but maybe I can get back on Vyvanse again.
    I appreciate you putting your videos together and you give me hope and motivation to start budgeting for my family because it’s one thing that I’ve been really hard at staying committed to is looking at where all of our money goes!
    Oh one other thing, you never need to apologize for the sounds of the Jets, I grew up in the military family, and some of my closest relatives were pilots and to me that’s just one of the sounds of freedom!

    Also another important thing to know. Be cautious of herbs and supplements. I got into an issue with some digestive bitters that was made from various herbs, and Astragalus is one of them. It triggered high heart rate and high blood pressure. I looked up about this and saw Astragalus had negative interactions with amphetamines.

  • @fbt4239

    Hello, thanks for sharing your experience! I've been on 30mg of Vyvanse for about a month now. Previously, I was on Ritalin, which was ineffective for me.
    Since switching to Vyvanse, I've noticed some positive changes, such as overcoming a depressed mood, establishing a routine, securing a job, and becoming more socially active and motivated to do stuff. But, I still get restless, find myself doing random stuff, making impulsive purchases, and mumbling gibberish.
    While I feel an overall improvement, I'm unsure whether Vyvanse is working optimally for me or if it's merely having an effect. Your mention of Vyvanse helping with hyperactivity has me contemplating whether increasing my dose to 60mg could offer additional benefits. Do you think I might experience more positive effects with a higher dosage? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated :))
    Edit: I am so sorry for your loss :(

      A higher dose may help more of your symptoms. You won't know for sure until you try it. I will say, though, that when I went from 30mg to 40mg, I had a little more anxiety and energy, but when I went to 50mg it calmed that all down. Best of luck!

    What does your copay look like. Just curious. I heard it can be expensive. But didn't know if it was for everyone.

    • @EnjoyingLifesJourney
      @EnjoyingLifesJourney  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My co-pay for Vyvanse name brand is $70, however I have a savings card (this will end at the end of the year) with Vyvanse so I only pay $30. There is a generic version now, my co pay is only $25 for that but I do not think it is as effective. My Adderall is a generic and my co pay is $25, I only fill this every 3-4 months becase I only need it 2 days a week.

    I was taking 40mg twice a day. (Years ago, I took 60 twice a day.) Recently, I still get tired and lose focus at times. When it wore off, I would have a serious downward crash. I just started taking Vyvanse 70mg. Today is my second day and I have felt tired and lacking motivation. I'm not sure what to do. I watched your other video. I am not taking vitamin C with it. Any thoughts on why it isn't working?

    • @ch3rieam0ur
      @ch3rieam0ur 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you may not need that high of a dose? Maybe try lowering your dose. I stopped taking this medication when I was 15/16 .. it has made me extremely tired and drowsy, loss of appetite and dry mouth. I’m assuming that’s the side affects? however I fluctuated between my doses 20-40mg (once a day.) and I realized the 40 was too high of a dosage. Be mindful. Also, it’s important to have food and stay hydrated while taking the medication. I’m 21 now contemplating on if I want to take this route of medication again.

    • @EnjoyingLifesJourney
      @EnjoyingLifesJourney  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could be to high of a dose for you by going to 70mg all at once. Your body was used to taking 40mg at one time, by the time you took your second 40mg you may have had some left, so more like 50-60mg was what your body was used to. I would go down to 50mg, then maybe 60mg. Also make sure you eat when your feeling like it's wearing off or your crashing, it helps a lot! you could add a 10mg booster dose of instant adderall at 1pm ONLY if you need it. Wishing you the best!

      Yeah I get tired sometimes too usually it's because I didn't eat enough. With Adderall if I got really tired it was because my dose was to high. Crazy how it all works differently.

      @goku2019 not sure if it downgraded my dopamine receptors because they were pretty low before meds. Currently the Vyvanse 60mg has been my best therapeutic med and dose for my ADHD symptoms.
