    Instead of building a truly sustainable city, the rich middle eastern countries still focuses on building dystopian cities.

    It's a pipe dream, a folly, and will never come to fruition. I'm amazed that this has actually started. Staggering. If the oil producing countries want to invest in things after the oil dries up they are going about it all the wrong ways.

    • @chrisbarbera4121
      @chrisbarbera4121 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And why it won't it get built. The saudi royal family owns the world's largest oil company by market value and revenue (possibly on revenue not sure but definitely market value).

      @ZER0-- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisbarbera4121 It has started being built, but it won't be finished. The only way I will be proven correct is in the future. Come back and point out all the targets that they will never meet and keep pushing the dates further down the line (pun intended.) And have you noticed the many other projects that have failed in the oi;l producing nations? Jedda Tower? Those palm tree islands sinking? etc. From what I have read the fitrst residents are meant to move in by 2024. That is very unlikely, and even if that does happen, the project will never turn out anything like the promotional videos proclaim. It reminds me of Elon Musk. All CGI and promises which never come to fruition. If someone sells you a dream tell 'em you'll sleep on it. Anyway I look forward to seeing the progress of this crazy idea.

      @ZER0 ok pal whatever underestimate a family that controls the world's largest oil company by Valuation. A company worth a couple of trillion dollars. Their fucking loaded. So what the fuck do u know asshole or dumbass.

    • @chrisbarbera4121
      @chrisbarbera4121 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ZER0 dude listen u do realize that the saudi royal family are the richest and if not the richest in the world then one of the richest. Your already wrong this will be built not that I care but I can't see something that the saudi royal family wants to build not being built. Their rich and rich people get what they want. End of discussion.

      @@chrisbarbera4121 It's hardly the end of the discussion when I've pointed out many of the failures of the rich oil nations. Norway and Iceland do it so much better with their distribution of wealth amongst all their citizens, whereas the OPEC countries just have all the money and the poor suffer. Go look up facts. Tell me what has happened to the Jedda Tower?

      What's in their mind to create such a long tunnel city, I have been wondering.. There might not be an airport, or travel by sea, or go anywhere else in their own country, Saudi Arabia. And what if fire happens, or earthquake, etc.

    After seeing the history and development of this idea, I've come to the conclusion that either a) this project was never meant to be completed and was purely created in order to keep Saudi Arabia in the thoughts of potential investors. Or option b) the ruling family does not have enough voices that are willing to stand up and criticise their stupid ideas

    Your point of not being able to walk or have a cycle path is ridiculous.
    Comparing to New York it just won't have cars, like in many Europe city centers.
