The solar farm could have been designed with a wider aim, not just clean power, you could have individual panels, say 4 metres by 4 metres, but placed, perhaps 20 to 30 metres high in order to cool a large region by collecting perhaps 7 to 10% of incident solar radiation. The power generated could be used at least perhaps 50% to desalinate ocean water
@@NewerSwagger-gp3hj the brine produced is an issue. But the fresh water and the cooling effect are surely worth the effort. Perhaps the brine could be disposed of in old mines - as long as it doesn't corrupt the water table

This is what happens when as a leader you have access to loads of money and are not accountable to anyone else in society. Lots of crazy ideas happen with lots of wasted money
During my first week in al Khobar, Saudi, my roommate, who was also my interpreter/guide, took me to a shawarma place that was next to the burnt remains of a pizza joint, in the middle of nowhere behind a dozen used car “dealerships.” My certainty that I was about to be sold or killed was outmatched by the absolute best shawarma I’ve ever had in my life. It’s a weird country but I love it.
I think you’re confused between private projects and state projects.. Jeddah Tower, Kuday Hotel and other numerous projects are private so chances of them being stalled is high. On the other hand. NEOM, Diriyah Gate, and other projects are state projects which means they’re unlikley to get stalled.
Are they actually $44? Holy fuck. So to have a decent amount you'd need to spent over $500 on just your briefs. Who the hell spends $500 on briefs? Guess I'm not the clientele for that company anyway.

Some clear demonstrations when stupidity overshadows time-tested common sense. These are the inevitable outcomes. Remember the moral lessons from "The Emperor's Clothes."
Building mega cities (or even normale cities) in places where there isn't fresh water is just stupid. Only way is to turn seawater into fresh water. And up the unwanted biproduct (salt) back in to the sea. Of course all done with burning cheap oil.😂
And that byproduct is actually harmful. "Wait, the oceans are already salty" people are thinking right now. Yes, but desalinisation creates so much salt that whereever you pour it back into the ocean the ecosystem just dies from salt poisoning.
@@santoshNarayana That would make the desalinisation more expensive. It requires additional facilities and work to turn the brine into consumable sea salt (and that is without considering the growing presence of microplastics). The cost of that additional work would not be recouped because the vast amounts of sea salt created would drive the price down to near zero. Packaging and shipping it would cost more than just putting it on a truck and dumping it in the desert (which would inevitably create some other problem in the future). The only way out of the trap would be if some new industrial process was developed that used sea salt as an input.
And then there is the Kingdom Tower projected to be 1,000 metres in height, taller than even the Burj Kalifa but work has stopped since March 2018 after some bankruptcies, embezzlement and criminal charges.
You ever notice that in Saudi Arabia nobody ever loses a hand from stealing gigantic amounts of money from these kind of things? They only seem to do that to petty thieves....

A lot of poor Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Indians might because they have no other choice (and once there have literally no other choice), but I never heard of any Westener wanting to live there except if bribed with large salaries and even then they only stay for as long as needed, but as short as possible.
Thats just the obvious facts.
@abl7632 @abl7632 I have seen tons of people saying that they want to live here. Especially the nationalities you've mentioned.
They can't because we don't give citizenship.
That is good.
Regarding westerners, I also heard some of them expressing that they want to live here.
Are they the majority? I don't think so.
But those who wanted to stay embraced the religion/culture.
Which is very difficult for many of them to do, due to the vast differences between us. Hence, why the majority wouldn't want to live here.
I wonder if they really want to diversify their economy or if all these projects are just a way to create jobs like what the Great New Deal was. They don't seem like they are really serious about changing.
All evidence points to a need to justify an unskilled and unqualified Royal family
What????
What would you do with all the brine ???
@@NewerSwagger-gp3hj the brine produced is an issue. But the fresh water and the cooling effect are surely worth the effort. Perhaps the brine could be disposed of in old mines - as long as it doesn't corrupt the water table
@@matgeezer2094 that's part of the problem....thé salt is going to migrate whithin the soil
@@NewerSwagger-gp3hj the salt is sodium and chlorine, perhaps uses could be found for the individual chemicals? They have economic value. Desalination is a very useful technology, my suggestion was really to have solar panels mounted perhaps 50 metres up, panels something like 5x5 metres, and so use the panels to provide shade, and so cool an area
This is what happens when you run your projects by hooking up your friends and people you like, instead of having a system based on merit.

Why cant the "unwanted biproduct" be turned into sea salt and sold?
