Hardly a month goes by without Saudi Arabia announcing an extraordinary construction project. Behind the increasingly newsworthy Neom showcase, there are also other oversized constructions. XXL amusement park, ultra-futuristic stadium, airport, giant cube or, more recently, the announcement of a 2 kilometer-high skyscraper - the major projects are numerous.
These constructions cover a wide range of fields, but all have one thing in common: a desire for grandeur. Ever taller, ever bigger, ever more beautiful, Saudi Arabia wants to make its mark with buildings that are sure to put the country in the record books.
Behind this frenzy and the billions of dollars spent is also the desire to diversify the Saudi economy. Made rich by oil, Saudi Arabia remains dependent on this commodity, which drives the majority of its economy. A state of affairs that could change with these new constructions. However, they still need to be able to get off the ground, as we'll see in this video, with the scaling-down of The Line.
From a park dedicated to the Dragon Ball saga to the world's next tallest building, I take you today to the heart of the Saudi monarchy, for a review of these megaprojects that may well be the country's showcase in the future.

There are many giant projects, but in construction and tourism, there is the Red Sea Islands project, the Amaala project, the Sindalah project, the Trojena project, and the Al-Souda Company project, and in Riyadh: the Green Riyadh project, King Salman Park, the closed King Abdullah Park, Riyadh Art, and the Sports Track project, and in the city of Jeddah there are large projects such as: the Central Project. Oh God anyone but Norman+Foster or Frank Gehry for that matter. We don't need more carbuncle architecture why not hire a Saudi Arabian? I'm sure you guys have very skilled architects who'd put to shame any London firm's second-hand version of Middle-Eastern inpired "modern" architecture that will probably manage to insult as much as it would impress. I'm sure a local architecture would do the aesthetics of the tower far more justice 😊 I know persians aren't Arabs but they are Middle-East and predominantly Islamic-that Iranian architecture who made beautiful the prerevolution Shah tower--if that talent of a relative is any indication, I know whatever a local Middle-Eastern architecture design will no doubt be far more pleasing and appropriate to the local environment❤

The line is seriously behind schedule which they're actively trying to cover up. They also quietly but significantly scaled the size of the project to a fraction of the original plan. If it ever gets finished, which is a big if, it will not be the thing that was originally planned and marketed.
