I see the notification of a new video and it fills me with excitement. Hands down the best sim racing TH-camr there is. The voice, the narration, the action/drama, and most of all, you’re very relatable. Honestly it surprises me that you don’t have 1m subs as the quality of your vids are amazing and I know you put so much time and effort into them. Only thing topping watching one of your videos would be the chance to meet you on track someday on LFM. Keep up the great work Chris, you bring a lot to the sim racing community!
Ahh mate, that’s so kind of you to say, thank you very much. I’ve been having to deal with a fair amount of negativity and abuse lately, which at times has made me question whether I want to keep on going. But messages like this make it all worthwhile. Truly appreciated, cheers 😃
@@chrisrogerssimracing least I could do mate. You bring a lot of joy to people so ignore the negative people. You could be handing out free money and people will still find a way to complain. Forgot to say, great to see you racing AMS2 on LFM, i started recently myself, only about 20 races in and I’m having a blast so far. Watching your vids gave me the push I needed to start myself.
Agree 100% but you forgot so say about the witty comments that get slipped in from time to time like "Bacon isn't sizzling in this on" . Brilliant Chris keep it up.

@@chrisrogerssimracing After 60 lfm races his safety rating is 1.15 (!!!), so I think he does this in every race... And no one has told him yet that this isn't Gran Turismo, so if he crashes into someone, his car will be damaged too. :)
I recently bought my first wheel and I've been having a ton of fun driving the formula trainer in AMS2! Great to see you enjoying the same car as well.
Nice one, yeah I’d go as far as to say it’s my favourite car in sim racing. Shame this series is a little bit wild at the moment, but still plenty of fun to be had if you avoid the carnage!
Nice one, glad you like it. Unfortunately the clunky replay system and the lack of full names in AMS2 makes video editing/commentating quite a challenge! But it’s been fun to try something a little different for a change.
That was definitely a wild race, if only I hadn't dipped my RR tyre in the grass. The backmarker kinda took me off my line and i carried slightly too much speed and yeah, grass is a killer. Good race tho 👍👍
Yeah, I missed the backmarker at the time, only saw them flash up momentarily in that replay angle. Makes it really hard not to get pulled too wide, when the apex is obstructed like that. Good to race you though… you were one of the few drivers who didn’t make me fear for my life whenever they got near me 🤣
Nice racing from you, Chris - but not so much so from some other drivers 😐 And glad you got a 'Bacon' pun in before the race was over! Those cars look pretty nimble - I will have to give them a go. Happy New Year incidentally, and looking forward to your future races.
Thanks Rob, yeah the car was great fun. It’s generally one of my favourite cars to race, whether it’s Formula Ford or whichever non-licensed nickname the other sims have to use. Definitely recommended!
You were extremely lucky at 10:15. I've seen you do it before, but steering left when the car is sliding to the left is the worst possible reaction you can have. You can save many half-spins if you apply opposite lock (in this situation steer right), whereas you can convert many half-spins to full spins by not doing so. Of course you can always over correct with opposite lock (too much right hand down lock) and still crash, but opposite lock will save your bacon (pun somewhat intended) more times than not.
Yeah, so there, I think my first instinctive reaction was to keep the car from sliding back into the track, as I knew there were cars close behind me. So I was actually trying to aim for the grass, knowing I’d be safe from causing a collision, even if it meant not saving the spin. As it happened, I got lucky in that I kept it facing the right way, and was able to rejoin straight away behind them. Bacon showed on the last lap how it could have been much worse!
AMS2 is now is my favourite sim, the graphics are incredible in VR and it runs so smoothly. But, the racing on LFM is just horrendous, I've only had a few clean races, most end up in the wall with a 1st lap pit stop. Hope to see you on the track soon.
Yeah, I get the impression there a lot of first-time online racers entering these. Which is great, because it is expanding the player base and participation… but it means trying to keep yourself in a safe space is the number one goal, rather than competing. I made 13 positions here without making a proper overtake 🤣
Haha yeah, exactly! Also, the HUD only displaying gamer tags rather than full LFM names makes commentary a nightmare 🤣 certainly adds hours onto the edit process for an AMS2 video, compared to other sims.
You’re right, I definitely saw it in one of the early videos that came out during AMS2’s first week on LFM. I’ve not seen it myself, but I’ve only done 2 races in total on it, so far.
Yeah, I’ve had it for a good year or two but never really played it due to the lack of ranked online options. But I’m really enjoying it now it’s arrived on Low Fuel Motorsport. Sure, it can be crazy and chaotic! But it’s lots of fun if you don’t mind the occasional wreck 🤣
I think it's rated about right. It's been released for 5 years? And they've barely scratched the surface of removing the bugs and foibles with it. It can be fun to play if you work around those issues but it's not a polished or finished game and it's expensive in that context. If I were the developer I'd look back and think that they made a mistake starting with the engine they did given that it only really has one major thing that's going for it (it's VR performance) - and everything else was broken (even the fancy pants tyre model stuff was more buggy than it was good) and Reiza have either not been able to fix or are part way through fixing these things after half a decade. You know, 5 years into development still having to do things like wipe the leaderboard after every release - that's how broken the physics were. And you can imagine that is still going to happen. That's one of the key parts of a sim right? Well if after n years of Slightly mad development and then another 5 from Reiza they still haven't managed to get it to work then it's obvious why it isn't highly rated. iracing isn't highly rated for its physics either - but they managed to get MP working and a system in place that creates big player base. Look how much development time it's taken from them and how much they are out of their depth and struggling. What they really needed to do was spend a year releasing bug fixes - and that means with a new release every month (at least - every week would be better) rather than just adding DLC and doing big overhyped point releases that add and leave more bugs than they remove. I get it, they want new DLC to get cash, but it's short term thinking. If they'd spent that year in the past fixing the mess that Slightly Mad dumped on them then they'd be in a better position to add new content and probably have more people willing to buy it. Even if they have improved it with each of these versions, the improvement only really highlights how bad it was in the past - which is somewhat of an issue with their rather toxic player base who bought in before the game was released and have always struggled to accept reality. There's too much time between these big release and there is clearly more work still to do than they have actually completed even after 5 years. Contrast it with Assetto Corsa EVO going forward. That is clearly a title that is far from a finished or polished game as it enters Early Access, but see where they are in a year, 2 years...5 years time - and I'm sure you'll understand why these other games get and keep a bigger player base and are rated well comparatively.
Remember ages ago, we used to say AMS2 made average drivers drive like professionals? Well with that in mind, imagine how bad some of these guys must be! 🤣
Ahh thanks, but honestly, no I haven’t. I find it quite easy to do commentary on 10min highlight videos like these, but I think I’d struggle big time with doing a live or full length race! My voice only just lasts when I make these short vids 🤣
I've learned to pick my LFM races carefully as the driving standards are low in the rookie races. LFM does the rookies no favors by throwing them in with seasoned drivers with F safety ratings.
Yeah, very true. At the moment, I don’t own any AMS2 DLC, and only have the base game. So I’m limited with finding combos on LFM, which means I just have to brave the carnage when I do find one 🤣
@@chrisrogerssimracing you can drive almost every combo, except the LMDH/GT3v2 one as you do not need to own the tracks to race in multiplayer (practice is a bit difficult though , did my sebring practice by doing my first GT4 race there 😇)
