My pleasure. I always appreciated the invitations to join the Bongo community races, but sadly I just don’t get the chance with my limited free time and lack of evening availability for sim racing.
As ever a great video Chris showing the highs and lows of weekly online racing! Consider this an early Christmas present to say thanks for all the amazing videos in 2024 and the support you’ve given me and my channel over the years!
Impressive comeback after that unfortunate first race this week! Congrats on that strong podium drive in the second race! And besides the great driving an awesome video as ever. 😄
Yes Chris!! Great result in the second race and the first one had a couple of nail buyers as well excellent vid as always. I found I got better starts by holding the throttle on full and modulating the brake to hold at 70kph..soon as you see green drop the brakes and you're away. Might be worth a try mate
Always feels great to bounce back after a rough race. Well done Chris! As always, well done with the video and thanks for the content... I was just istting down to eat when I saw this pop up on my feed. :)
Once more, great content to watch! On race 1 you did well, despite the small mistakes, a top 10 finish is good! On race two you were on "attack" mode, your pace was intense and always close to the leaders. Congratulations on winning the silver medal on race two, totally deserved buddy!😎
Nice race Chris, plus a great improvement from the first race to the second race as well and ending up on the podium. Quality stuff. 💪 PS, In case anybody is interested, Raceroom has free access to all it's content while it's black Friday sale is on. I think it's on up until Dec 6th. I thought I'd mention just in case there's anyone wanting to try out different cars and tracks that they currently don't have access to. They've even got a Lambo now in the 2024 DTM cars. I preferred the McLaren myself but i only tried with the stock set ups. I think I could dial in the Lambo to my driving style given a good testing session though. It just made me think of you when i seen it. 😁
Cheers John, ahh yeah I did see RaceRoom was open access for a bit, so I’d definitely like to check that out. I’ve really enjoyed the races I’ve done there recently, and am keen to try some of the newer content I don’t own yet.
@@chrisrogerssimracing One of the options for this weeks ranked races is those WTCR / TC Cup cars at Silverstone gp. I think I remember you saying you loved the feel of those FWD cars once you got yourself dialled in. Sadly I still suck pretty badly in the FWD cars lol. I also saw there was a truck race as one of the daily feature races. I've never seen the truck included in the ranked races before. I assume that because it's free access atm they want to experiment and include races with all the content that doesn't get used so often.
Fun to watch, as always! Too bad on the mistake on race one. Can't tell you how many times I've borked my own race like that too. Great follow-up on race two!
Hi, Chris! My Wife and I love your videos. Hopefully I'll be sim racing very soon, you've been a big inspiration to me doing so. Thanks for the awesome content!
Car 2, finished 2nd. I'd say, job well done. I wonder if your mistake in race one was target fixation related. Essentially, moving your vision forward to watch the traffic instead of in the distance to see when the car is about to do fun things. Still, not a bad couple of races.
That’s EXACTLY what it was! I can still vividly remember exactly what my eyes were focussed on when I started to spin… I was watching the rear tyres of the black Porsche! Probably not what I should have been looking at 🤣 my mind does wander a bit too easily. Once, playing cricket, I completely missed a simple catch out by the boundary because I was watching pigeons playing in a tree 🤣
Very much so. In the second race, the temptation was there to push harder to try and catch up with the leader. But as we saw in race one, that brings an increased risk of mistakes and dropped positions. So I was really happy to keep it flawlessly consistent in the second race, P2 and 0x incident points was more than enough 😃
Nice one. Way tidier than earlier in the week. The Ferraris are quick around here. My PB is a 1.42.1 in the Ferrari but the Mustang is more fun, despite my PB being 3 tenths slower. The difference over the kerbs is night and day. You can clatter most kerbs in the Mustang and you barely feel it. You just have to kiss a kerb in the Ferrari and it spits you out, especially around Imola.
Yeah, there’s no way I’d survive Imola in a Ferrari! The Lambo is really steady on the kerbs too, particularly through the first two chicanes, so a far safer option for me, as someone who likes to use the kerbs. In a Ferrari, I may get a couple of laps in that were a few tenth quicker, but I’d almost certainly end up facing the wrong way before reaching half-race distance. I’ve still never tried the Mustang, maybe I’ll take it for a test run at the weekend.
@@chrisrogerssimracing Yeah, give it a shot. It does feel very different from a mid-engined car but seeing how you've driven the BMWs before, you might get to grips with it quicker than I initially did. I find it's slower to respond to input than the Ferrari and the gears take a lot of getting used to. You NEVER hit 6th gear and bends you might take in 3rd in the Lambo, you need to take in 2nd in the 'Stang. But it's a pretty decent car in the wet. Had one of my best races around Imola in the wet a season or two ago in the Mustang. Once I got the hang of it, I went from P12 or so to P2 in just half the race.
Ahh thank you mate, great to hear. Yeah I’ve always fancied trying a rally game. I know I’d be terrible at off-road driving 🤣 but they do look like great fun.
Mega race. They were dropping like flies all around you in that second one.😂😂😂 In other news, I noticed something with your pedal inputs. You're never fully off the throttle in the braking zones, there is like 10-20% throttle on esp in turn one. Not sure if that is intentional to balance the car or if you are slightly resting your foot on the pedal. You may want to consider a dead zone if it's the latter. That is surely robbing you of some crucial lap time on entry. If you struggle with understeer esp mid-corner, this is also probably a reason why, cause that throttle stays on throughout. Cheers mate.
Ahh yeah, that’s just one of many bad habits I have! I used to do it with the brake pedal. Got out of that habit, and now I regularly do it with the other foot 🤣
Chris, a pleasure to race with you. Hopefully this will be the first of many. Sadly for me I got a little frustrated and that brings on a fit of rightfootedness. Great race all the same. Question: Do you use the LFM Livery Distribution App? You seem to be missing some beautiful liveries including my lovely Viagra skin.
Well, at least you only made one mistake… I doubled that tally! You lads were having a cracking fight. I wanted to join in, but you were all just a bit too fast for me, and I ended up over-driving to try and keep up. It was great to see you on the grid. As for liveries, I’ve not tried the LFM tool… I’m only on a modest PC, so I try to avoid running anything extra that might impact performance. Although, having said that, my PC always manages Trading Paints ok with iRacing, so perhaps I should give it a try. Cheers.

@chrisrogerssimracing I think the biggest help for me is being able to see exactly where the end of my bonnet is so I don't hit anyone when I'm close behind hahaha
I'm having so much fun this week at Imola. Valencia is a interesting track. Very technical but it made me so tense during the race not to keep my imputs smooth. Imola on the other hand has this fast shicanes and turns. I can go fast and nailing this corners is sooo satysfing. Anyone knows what's next on the calendar?
Zandvoort next week on the GT3 Sprint calendar. A fun track to drive, but not always the most exciting racing as it’s so difficult to overtake there. I gave Valencia a miss last week, I’ve never driven it before and I didn’t really have the time to learn a new track. Had a lot of fun at Imola this week though 😃
@@chrisrogerssimracing that's interesting. I never raced at Zandvort in LFM but i will be glad to give it a try. Regarding Valencia, it took me 2 hours to learn layout and it turned out that my pace is pretty good in Split 2. It was my first ever races there too. There are way better tracks in the lineup. But it"s worth to give it a try ;)
@@tesciu00 Yes, it’s just Valencia and Indianapolis that are the two ACC tracks I’ve never tried. I’d also never driven Kyalami but finally learned that one to try it this season. Hopefully I’ll have a bit more time to tackle Valencia when it next appears!
@@chrisrogerssimracing Valencia's a nice track but not the easiest to overtake on. You really have to rely on mistakes or someone getting a poor getaway at the last turn, or braking too early there as it's a difficult one to judge your braking point.
@@chrisrogerssimracing just save once the good values and write into the setup's name the current air temperature. Next time You just need to change the pressures based on the air temperatures, for example 4 degrees higher air temperature means 4 clicks lower pressures. :)
Great content as always Chris! I am wondering, what is your ELO? I'm always being put in split 1 and I got my best time ever (42.1) and qualified 22nd 🫤
Yeah my ELO isn’t particularly high, I’m usually around 1300-1400, so I usually end up in Split 2. Or on occasions, in Split 3, which is where I was for the second race in this video as car #2 👍
